JD, I don't think bad credit being pushed through is the only problem.  I think the other problem is loans being given based solely on income.  Jobs aren't like they used to be  and most people don't bother to save, they live day- to- day.  What happens when a couple has a $250k house, and 2 $40k cars and even one of them loses their job?  Or even worse both of them?  Plus they have 2 kids.  Unless they have family that can help them, they're in trouble.  I know of several loans that have these conditions.  The housing market is dead, so who picks up these loans?  In many of these cases the insurance companies also take a pounding.  So to me this current problem has many bad choices to be blamed.  Politicians are just a small chunk.

Ok, SS, guess that saying can go both ways, but since you are a smarty I'll be honest and say I'm sure you won't be aware of it.

I love him, he's the man.

I'm sorry but I would stick with Sanford with Bauer as the alternative.
Bauer- What hasn't he done?  Some had to be very forgiving for him to be re-elected. ( I just find him to not be too smart.)
Many people didn't like Sanford's stand on the stimulus package.  It seems like strange timing that the whole affair thing would come out now.  This wasn't his first trip to Argentina and the e-mails didn't suddenly appear.  (But I also tend to not like anyone's personal life being used to affect their job.)

The last few times that I have logged on here a google log in screen has popped up sometime while I was on.  I just figured I was hitting a weird key, but it has happened more than once.  (I have no google account.)

What other state do we have that runs from north to south like California?  You name it, it has it, except industry.  If I could pick my ideal place to live it would be Monterey, CA. But I always wondered how anyone could afford to live there. And for a politician I would think it would be the most tough state to run. In some areas you would think you are in Japan, in others Mexico.  People think NY city has a mixture, Cal deals with it statewide. Plus natural disasters.  Don't think it's quite fair to compare to GM and Chrysler.

But Wyatt, I have to say when you use little words like junkey lot you wipe away more of your efforts than you know. Sometimes its the little things that mean the most. Stooooopid, but true.

Wyatt, ur post was under 15 min and could have been changed and Jd said to drop subject. And you know I hate to type,( smiley thing just took out some of what I said )

Re: Anderson's Animals

devilI would rather take in a stray , have already had to deal with some of the results of a group environment( resp infection, etc.). Why I am not sure what the real answer is as far as our abandoned animals.  Why I keep saying for all of our social problems, punishing the offender is what needs to be the main isssue.   We are spending millions on dealing with problems after the fact, why not spend that money on stopping the initial problem.

Wyatt, ur post isn't 15 min old. duh.  What can I say JD, has to be over, right?.

Most vets have also run a business. I have no idea what Ms Dodd's salary is, but am thinking its not that far from what they are listing as the vet's. Why I suggested the vet be top position ( and raise the current salary offered.)
Shoot I have a business degree and would run the shelter for health insurance as I really love animals.  Why I am so hard on the current system.

It was obvious Dashboard wasn't new.  But I still support 1op, he makes this forum interesting.  I don't read past posts, so maybe he said something really bad that I missed.

Re: Anderson's Animals

June 28, 2009 by confused

I agree about the vet's salary, totally unrealistic to me.  But I have to say, why not have the vet be over the animal shelter? And have that be the highest salary.  A true vet puts love for animals first.   The whole land donation thing has been strange too.  If you donate land, that's it, it's now county land.  You don't put a number of conditions.
I know the current shelter head won't be happpy, but she is only doing her job because she loves animals so much, right? So her salary is unimportant to her.

Pappy, which administrator?  Shoot, if all companies put their VIP's spending under this microscope the country might not be in trouble.

I have to comment on attacks from both sides.  The first time I ever posted on here it was about the internal audit.  A burdette character(who I'm sure has a another namesmile) and Pappy both immediately talked to me like I was a fool.  Another post about activities in Anderson had smart responses from SSHM and IBv/  I  cussed all of them out.  It just seems like if someone dares to voice an opinion an attack seems to be the response most of the time.  So I have to ask why does this forum exist?

Great, hope this business does well.  Just hope they don't cater to certain crowds, like a majority of the downtown businesses do.  Otherwise, it sounds like this will be a lot of fun.

PP, I'm not sure how I saw this.  I have been waiting for this place to open.  If you have any other info on this place please post. ( I love dinner and some kind of a show.) I hope they will have a web site up soon.

Pappy, my first response is to JD- you are not to attack the poster, right?Yet poor pappy-my appropriate pen name?  "Almost every post I have made has some "confused" sarcastic response(which I love).  Pappy, sorry I but I take care of of what I am responsible for.  It  isn't the trash in my yard or the elderly that their own families neglect.   I will take care of  animals, but not pay for people who use the system and barely care for animals, but play the role.

Re: no politics just the passing of a great man

I hate to beat a dead horse, but if a drunk driver tore down this man' s work what would your reaction be?  My gate and fence weren't fancy, but they disappeared in the blink of an eye.  Only important to me. Why I am a cynic.

Fortunately, I don't think Charleston or Savannah have to worry about drunk fools destroying this man's handiwork.   If I had the same confidence I might also enjoy this man's work.

Pappy, as I live on a 4 lane hwy, I have trash in my yard every day (including baby diapers) and am tired of picking it up. All of my animals (5) are either rescues or strays I took in.
I have already taken care of 2 elderly family members for over 10 years total.  I also drove an elderly friend for years to a doctor while her daughter lived next door to her.  I'm sorry, but its time for family to step up.
My problem with the current rescue system is that you tend to get an animal with respiratory infection and/or other problems that occur from group conditions.   You will either have costly expensives or suffer from the loss of an animal you have become attached to.
All of the issues look good on paper, but reality is another thing. I always ramble, so deal with it.

JD, I wondered when your post would appear.
As a person who supports neither party, this is an example of why I stay neutral. As I have said, I don't know which party the candidates I have voted for, represent.  Neither is perfect. And they both have issues I support and disagree with.  It seems like personal lives have become more of an issue than if the politician is doing his job.

I'm sorry WY, but I can't believe you are even spouting all that mess.  Clinton (who I voted for) made a joke of our whole country with his repeated infidelities.  Unfortunately, he had a wife who was so determined to become a political figure herself that she smiled through all of his indiscretions. Both parties have had sleazy idiots, so to turn this into a political issue is funny.  (I'm pitiful, cause if you had paid me a million I couldn't have told you which party he belonged to; don't vote by party.) Like I said Toby's looking rough and I don't like that song, but I walk to American Soldier every day.  He also seems like the kind of singer that would perform in Anderson if we came up with a good cause.

Rodeo?  He's still one of the top country singers, just looking rough.
I'm not even sure if this is the topic anymore, but why doesn't Downtown Sounds move to the FM?
Unless there is lightning the band could still play and there would be a little shade.  It's hot in front of the courthouse at 6 pm.(And it seems like it rains almost every other Thurs.)
Both the museum and FM would be good locations for craft shows, depending on the time of year.
Btw anyone know why the Meals on Wheels Oyster Roast left the FM?

Now we know why he chose to be absent on Father's Day. (My home screen says he's been having an affair, not new.) Why does it seem like the families with several children seem to be the ones falling apart?
