Connecting The Dots: Danger - Iceberg Ahead!

I've used this song before to convey the need to take note and to take action - action at the polls, mind you. Again, I will reference it as it puts you into the correct frame of mind for what you are about to read. The year ... is 2005. The song is performed by Trent Reznor ... this is NIN:

The year is significant ... 2005.

The lyrics ... What if this whole crusade's .. A charade .. And behind it all there's a price to be paid .. For the blood .. On which we dine .. Justified in the name of the holy and the divine ... are definitely significant. How far will some of you go to believe what you believe despite the truth being presented to you? We'll see soon enough.

What I am posting below is a matter of public record. This record does provide additional insight and dimension to certain events currently going on in Anderson County Politics.

Please feel free to review the attachment and draw your own rational conclusions.

The attachment below is an incident report where ACSO Deputy L. Brent Moore (the same L. Brent Moore who arrested JRP), was put on trespass notice in 2005 from an apartment where Shannon R. Burns's boyfriend resided as well as the complex next door from where Moore was apparently surveilling them from.

Well worth reading cover-to-cover. After reading the attachment, know this: This is the tip of a very large iceberg. What isn't being reported is more likely the story of true interest (e.g., the bottom-half of the iceberg)

Hmmmm. I know this would be entirely too much of a coincidence, but would this Shannon Russell Burns happen to be any relation to ... you know ... him?!?!?

Ok SSHM.  Call me dumb, but what has this crime of passion in 2005 got to do with a traffic stop in 2010?

Connect the dots..... Deputy Moore ... Rusty Burns Daughter... Rusty Burns... Sheriff Skipper... All hate Preston for being fired or for political differences... all have motives for revenge... (the deputy has a history of surveilling enemies...)

Hum... makes you wonder just how long they have had Preston under surveillance...

I sure hope Skipper has some answers...

Skipper said "I stand behind the deputy's decision in making the arrest based on his training, the field sobriety test, and the smell of alcohol on the driver's breath."

I wonder if he still stands behind this deputy...

More details to come I have heard.  Yes I think this really is the salacious paper back we have been awaiting.... POLICE CORRUPTION...SEX...REVENGE...ABUSE OF POWER

Please tell us MOORE...

OK, let's pull some teeth here.
The incident report doesn't say, but was the suspect in this case - L. Brent Moore - actively employed by the Sheriff's Office at the time of this incident? If so, I do hope he was suspended or fired, since we really don't need law enforcement personnel threatening private citizens over personal matters.
Of course (and assuming he was an officer at the time of the incident), in the absence of evidence that he was fired by, at the time I would guess, Sheriff David Crenshaw, I can assume either Crenshaw screwed up and didn't fire him, fired him and re-hired him, or Skipper re-hired him after the last election.
SSHM, do you have the clarification on that (without getting into confidential personnel files)? Anybody?
Also, since this is out here now (for good or bad), I should note as a moderator and administrator of this site, I am very uncomfortable dragging private citizens into the public debate. That being said, after a fellow named George Haynie told me last week people were passing around an NCIC report on Doreen Montepara at local political fundraiser a couple of weeks ago, my inhibitions are rapidly fading on that policy.
Anyway, let's cut to the chase and either confirm or kill a story that's floating around.
There is a persistent rumor involving Deputy Moore that a few years ago, he was fired for bangin' some young lady like a screendoor in a hurricane, allegedly while on duty. Crenshaw allegedly either overlooked the incident or, more likely, fired him and hired him back after a bit of shameless begging.
Could that have been ... you know ... her, and is the incident report you linked above related in any way, directly or indirectly, to that alleged incident? If so, was Deputy Moore fired after the first alleged incident, if it's true? Has he ever been fired by the ACSO for inappropriate conduct? If so, why was he brought back, and by whom?
It does seem, in response to Deepthroat’s question, that this would have been a deputy who would have been ill-advised to reject any requests to do something out of line – like, say, target Joey Preston for arrest based on past political considerations.
Again, I don't know if any of this is true, other than the hard incident report SSHM posted to start this thread, but things have been landing on my desk for several weeks now regarding this, and it's time to get to the bottom of this story one way or another.
Good grief, I'm getting a headache here just thinking about the ramifications if it's true. I'm glad Skipper is standing BEHIND this guy. Standing in FRONT of him could be dangerous unless you've got your screen doors latched. Of course, that's just my opinion. Please, please, Mr. Deputy, don't come knocking on my door. Go knock on Will Folks' door.  He set the tone for politics in this state.
Sorry about the cough there, SSHM. Have a cough drop. Not sure it'll help much when you're in close proximity to an iceberg, but at least you know now you're not the only one who's AWARE of that iceberg ahead. In fact, I've attached a little picture to help others who may not understand what's going on play, too.
REVERSE ENGINES! HARD TO PORT! HARD TO PORT!

JD you give Will Folks too much credit.  He's just a doofus trying to eek out a buck on the system.  Lee Atwater was the godfather of vicious personal politics in this state and perhaps in the nation.  I believe he saw the err of his ways and repented before his death, but his nefarious legacy lives on in SC.

Yes, I knew Lee. He did express considerable regret about his political tactics before his untimely death, even though all he actually did was take tactics employed by the other party and, uh, enhance them a bit.
And, yes, Will Folks is a doofus. Sadly, even doofuses (doofusses? doofi?) seem to get credibility occasionally, for whatever reason. OwlGore. H. Ross Perot. Al Sharpton. Nancy Pelosi. David Duke. Cindy Sheehan. I rest my case. devil

The subpoena issued to ACSO yesterday (2 June 2010) [yes ... I will get it posted shortly] reveals the following, as it pertains to L. Brent Moore:

Item 19 - Produce a copy of all records pertaining to prior disciplinary matters or previous terminations of Officer L.B. Moore.

Item 22 - A copy of all of the Personnel Action Forms (PAF) for L. Brent Moore of the Anderson County Sheriff's Office from 2005 to present.

Also, since this is out here now (for good or bad), I should note as a moderator and administrator of this site, I am very uncomfortable dragging private citizens into the public debate. I've heard rumblings of this story. Without proof, I have discounted it as just a rumor. However, with the report posted above, and with regards to what Nelson Mullins is fishing for ... well ... let's just say that Loch Ness may be home to something more than just fish, if you follow.

It does seem, in response to Deepthroat’s question, that this would have been a deputy who would have been ill-advised to reject any requests to do something out of line – like, say, target Joey Preston for arrest based on past political considerations.

-jdtippett

Logically, this would be sound and reasonable, given our current political climate that is Anderson County. Some days, I wonder if we are all just clones of Lee Atwater ... but I digress ...

Again, I don't know if any of this is true, other than the hard incident report SSHM posted to start this thread, but things have been landing on my desk for several weeks now regarding this, and it's time to get to the bottom of this story one way or another.

-jdtippett

I believe that report is indeed the tip of the iceberg. I also believe that report is the key to understanding a LOT about AC Politics. I'm talking about understanding for average observer, not the hardcore inside politicos that we are here.

-jdtippett

If it is true indeed .... it would be a major revelation and would serve to shatter everything ... EVERYTHING.

Sorry about the cough there, SSHM. Have a cough drop. About that cough ...

*cough* *cough* note the address of Ms. Burns *cough* *cough*

*cough* *cough* do an ACPass search at that address *cough* *cough*

I think I just answered your first reply to this thread, JD.

Sounds to me like you're doing a good job of trying to separate fact from fiction, SSHM. Keep up the good work.
I just figured I'd throw caution to the wind and throw everything out here, documented or not, just like Welch and his cohorts do. If he can still call himself a reporter, I don't see why the rest of us can't play by his rules, too.
BUT, I do think we should retain at least a passing acquaintance with the truth. Blatant lies like they use against people here and on other sites are still out of bounds.

Man, oh man.   And I thought I had issues with the ACSD!
I sure hope Anderson county has paid up their state Legal Defense insurance fund fees.
Seems they may be dipping into it "sooooon".

Discovery....depositions.....witnesses.....subpoenas....Federal investigators NOT on the ACSD payroll....judges NOT part of the problem to begin with.
sad

  On a sidenote:
Hey JD.....would that name HANEY be the same one who was so indelicately threatening to SUE ATZ/bloggers/you because he hired Moore
From records obtained FREELY at the Anderson County courthouse, HANEY's name is smeared ALL OVER the funding of his campaigns since 2004.   Those ain't lies..PUBLIC RECORD IN FACT.  So what's his beef anyways?

And another sidenote....

Pleaseeeee don't EVER insult the users and participants of ATZ by referring to any of us in the same MINOR league as "Wayne's world" Welch!  Many of us actually have integrity, use facts and can document our claims, and don't have felony convictions as part of our resume.

That's not a colloquialism. It's a metaphor. Or a simile. Or something. I get 'em mixed up. angel

Nah, this photo is more what we're dealing with around here,  unfortunately without any "hot chick" in leggy shorts.
