Where in the World is Mark Sanford?

I am on my way to DC via BWI.  My husband called to tell me about the metro crash.  While investigating the report on that, imagine my surprise to discover no one seems to know where our governor is.  Any thoughts, cares, concerns on missing Mark.

Apparently Sanford was on this new thing called VACATION. Imagine there was limited communication, the state must have Verizon. LOL It isn't like the state will stop running without him - there's good ol' Andre at the helm! ROTFLMAO

Vacation is fine.  Dropping out is not.  If an emergency situation had occurred that required that the Governor take action, that action would have been delayed by his mysterious absence, and lives possibly lost.

I'm reasonably sure that Joel Sawyer could have reached Sanford if he had needed to reach him before any lives were lost. Just because Jake Knotthead didn't know where he was doesn't mean NOBODY knew where he was, although Jake is pretty much of a NOBODY.
But I will agree it could have been tense in an emergency.
I mean, what if President Obama had tried to force another $700 million on debt on the taxpayers of South Carolina and the Governor hadn't been available to stop it? After all, we all know how powerful the Governor is under the State Constitution of 1895 and the power-mad General Assembly that doesn't respect the results of a STATEWIDE election.
That General Assembly has already said the Governor is irrelevant to the direction of the State of South Carolina. How could those hypocrites now get upset because he decided to take a few days off where they can't reach him?

JD,

Your comment was probably made before it was reported that he was on the AT. Having hiked parts of it I know there are long stretches that are not quickly nor easily accessible nor exitable.. That was before cell phones but I would guess that there are also dead zones which would make communications impossible.
My point is that this seems a strange vacation for someone as attentive to his duties as Sanford. Also, it is odd to me that he was away from his family on Father's Day. I always thought of him as a loving family man.

If you think in reality he had no communication with his office or security with him you might be wrong. On the other hand it is much more likely that his camping was not advertised or revealed to the GUM (great unwashed masses) to thwart morons from looking for him on the AT (Appalachian Trail). To think he ran away from home without telling mom where he was is going is rather stupid.

CNN has the story:

Should make for some entertaining commentary.

(1)You are suggesting that everyone lied who said they did not know of his whereabouts.
(2)What do you call it when a father bails out on their children on Father's Day?  Family values?

It has also been stated that he was out of the country when the fires broke out in Myrtle Beach, and people did not know there he was.

This came up at our dinner tonight about him leaving his family on Fathers Day.  My retort to them was;  "It was FATHERS Day.  When Dad should be able to do as HE wanted.  Seems to me they honored his wishes.

Sunday was also Naked/Nude Hiking Day.  Coincidence???

If he was hiking nude,  it explains why he wasn't answering his cell phone - he had no pockets or belts to speak of.

One of the problems with the Gov. dropping out is that even thought the SC Constitution specifies that the Lt. Gov. can step in the Gov.'s place in an emergency situation, what constitutes an "emergency" has not been defined.  This is a gray area of the law.

Yuck... Really bad visual image here, JK!!!!  Time for an ole woman to say goodnight and head to bed.

I hope I don't have nightmares now!

Yeah . . . saw that at the Christian Science Monitor website.

However, it does not jive with the SC State Car, checked out to him, parked at Hartsfield in ATL. While we are talking about a mystery, here is something that should appeal to the fans of the black helicopters out there:

1.) YES - that is their job
2.) I call it a wonderful gift from his family. What if he went golfing like the President?

What did you do for your children's father, cook him dinner and tell him to mow the yard?

With the story changing by the minute...it is fun to watch the sanford clones (ironically the exact same people that are cindi-clones and bryant-clones) do everything in their power to deny what is unravelling in front of us..

the one thing we can always count on from this group is this...

they will NEVER...admit when they are wrong..because it is physically impossible for them to do so. The pysche does not allow them to admit error..

so they will twist and turn in amazing ways to justify and support his actions.
