Hey Butch! Take a HINT!
While I certainly do not condone the actions taken by the individuals in this WYFF news story, I share their frustrations with the JUNK MAIL known simply as The Hometowner.

Your total market coverage approach ... the $750,000-ish a year boondoggle is not wanted or warranted in this market. If you truly wanted to be a good citizen of the community, provide a CLEAR means by which residents of Anderson County can opt out of this weekly nuisance. The number, as listed in the article, apparently isn't working for everyone.
As the WYFF news article points out, we can seek relief via County Ordinance ... and, if needed ... I would image a lawsuit (as that is the current method of choice in Anderson).

I emailed AIM and the papers have stopped being thrown out on my street. My complaint was handled at once. I agree they need to stop throwing any out, but I will also give them a pat on the back for helping keep my street clean.
Can we get phone books next? Getting 3 or 4 copies of multiple phone books is an even worse nuisance..in my mind.
This may have been asked and answered before. If so, I missed it.
Why isn't this stuff (paper/phonebooks/advertising flyers/etc) put in my driveway considered litter and why aren't the folks who put this in my yard charged with littering?
I suspect it is called "political pressure"..... they all make nice campaign contributions..
thats why realtors are exempt from sign ordinances and loggers can drop debris and tear up roads with impunity.
If you want to see a great case of hyper-ventilation..just suggest to a newspaper publisher that they should be charged sales tax on their newspapers (which are exempt from sales tax)...
