Rusty Burns- grant writer
For anyone that might think that Rusty is out using his "grant writing" skills to score us a jackpot of $750,000 for the Summary Court building..think again. That money was given to Anderson County without a single effort being made by anyone in the county. It was an entitlement that just showed up as a result of the "Stimulus".
So lets not act like this is a grant that was received because of anyones skills, efforts or abilities. It would have showed up regardless of who was the administrator.

Palmetto Native,
An intelligent poster as Palmetto Native knows that a grant of $751,200 cannot be awarded to Anderson County without a single effort being made.
Some very intelligent, experienced Interim Administrator has sent three qualified employees to Columbia to learn Stimulus 101. And the fruits of their efforts are being harvested.

What!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! taxpayer funded vacations on our tax dollars for training. I thought there was a freeze on training sessions. I want to know where they ate and how much it cost. Extravagant dining, unnecessary travel for training that supposedly Rusty Burns already had!!!! This is outrageous, there was supposedly a suspension of all travel and training!!!!!!!!!!!! LIES I tell you LIES!!!!!
Art...that trip did not generate a dime of this money. This money was "awarded" to Anderson County merely because it was one of the 10 largest counties in SC. It didnt matter who the 10 were.
Yes there will be some application to be filed to show how the money will be spent...but dont let anyone tell yuo that that pot of money was found because of anyones expertise...knowledge..or abilities...
it woudl have been given to Anderson County if a duck were the administrator.
Did you read that powerpoint from the Energy Office? We are called an "entitlement" community.
We get it....merely because we showed up. We did not "earn" it for a single reason of effort, skill or as fruits being harvested.

I doubt these folks were getting training to make money in their personal lives. I also doubt they spent $140.00 in bars in 3 hours on the way home from NYC.
But what do I know.

Training to make money in their personal lives? Hmmm ... what about the $11k+ we spend per pupil, as taxpayers, educating out children ... spent over the course of a decade plus?
But what do I know, right?

No, wrong again, The $751,200 to Anderson County was in the federal legislation. No action by the county required. Our council and Interim Administrator could have stood in the corner and drooled and this money would still be coming to Anderson County.

Leopold Galtieri,
I have been learning some humility lately. If it doesn’t break me, hopefully it will make me stronger. Thanks for the correction.
