Having lived in Anderson County for most of my 60+ years I do hope that 2009 brings some maturity to the whiners of our county. We live in one of the better places in the world and don't let anyone convince you otherwise. If you listen to Driver in the morning please listen with an open mind. I have known him for many years and he is not a bad guy but remember his business in to keep the listeners upset so they will tune in the next day. Also pray that we provide the right business climate so we can draw the businesses that will provide great jobs for our people. I hope all have a great New Year.
If he's not such a "bad guy," maybe his radio show could develop a modicum of responsibility, especially when it comes to the claims of some of his more colorful and obviously unemployed callers.

I'm in agreement with SSHM. Rick Driver has a lot to makeup for if he is to be considered "not such a bad guy." Is it right for a chemical polluter to polluter land and water for a profit ? Obviously not. Well, by comparison, Rick Driver has polluted the local airwaves, and feeble minds of a bunch of
political neanderthals. He's making a profit from spreading political poison and thus hurtng all of us. No one challenges his right to raise litigimate questions and seek reasonable response. What he (and his nutty callers) is doing is killing the Anderson quality of life with a daily, slow, agoninizing death. The New Year goal of the business community should be to change the rhetoric of WAIM in 2009. We can get Rick's attention by finding legal and persuasive ways to slow the flow of advertising revenues. In my own way, I avoid doing commerce with any business which advertises on WAIM. Similar as I would avoid doing business with a known polluter. What's more, I tell businesses that advertise on WAIM that I am not spending a dime with them as long as they advertise on WAIM. That's my small protest. I explain to the business that what Rick Driver is doing is taking their money and use it (in a sense, or lack of any sense) to hurt the community. I get some odd looks and a few "we wern't aware of that" responses. One or two have stopped advertising so I know it works.
Listen guys I don't hate Rick like some of you do. Rick calls himself a conservative but he is more of an agitator. The boy does what he is suppose to do. He keeps people stirred up so the advertisers will keep paying for those ads. I usually listen to George and Pork Chop in the mornings. I have gotten very upset with some of the charges he has made on the radio. There is a difference between news and opinions and DIRT. Rick gets into dirt.

I agree. Although, it is more like down in the mud. Also, I don't hate Rick. I do not like what he does and what he stands for.
