Angel, always the negative, said " I do not believe a word out of Stan Welch as we all know what group he hangs out with."
Whether you like him or not does not matter Angel. I certainly don't agree with all his articles but he is the very best investigative reporter in Anderson County and he always backs up with facts. If you consider an honest and open government as 'garbage', then Heaven help you Angel(?).
RIOTS ?
Looks like I missed another one. Angel said " I have also heard that it is not a wise thing to be accusing certain people in high level positions of being a pedaphile."
When did this happen Angel? Will you furnish us with the post and topic? Thanks!
Okay please go back and read my post.. I do not mention any names. Maybe its your guilt shining throughLooks like I missed another one. Angel said " I have also heard that it is not a wise thing to be accusing certain people in high level positions of being a pedaphile."

I re-read your post and I do not understand. Who is/was accused of being a pedophile?

Angel, again. Will you furnish us with the post and topic? Thanks!
What do you mean about 'my guilt shining through'? I have never called anyone a pedaphile on any blogs and I certainly am not a pedaphile. I am in favor of public square hangings for every one of them. Please explain another of your stupid remarks about 'my guilt'.
I re-read your post and I do not understand. Who is/was accused of being a pedophile?-non-sequitur
I know most wont understand , but recently a radio junkie accused someone in a high position of looking at child porn...No, I am not accusing anyone on this blog of the person who did it, so please dont get your hissy fits going... Just listen to the drivel show and you will hear them accusing everyone who does not kiss the butts of everything you can think of....Hope this helps
When Angel said "Maybe a cocktail might help", it was then she confirmed what I've been thinking....that she is very closely associated with the former king of the county....head to the bar and let's get drunk. That was Preston.
Okay I see you have nothing better to do then nitpick everything I say.Glad I can keep you wittle mind busy..I have never implied that I do not know Mr.Preston ,but being closely associated is not what I would call it. I really dont blame the man if he has a cocktail after one of those circus meetings .Lord knows I think I would to...When Angel said "Maybe a cocktail might help", it was then she confirmed what I've been thinking....that she is very closely associated with the former king of the county....head to the bar and let's get drunk. All I can think is "she's back............................" likely the negative comments and insults will now be doubled as she and that other person who have jumped the Hankey blog will now bless us with all their positive verbiage. JJ&M

Totally unnecessary contribution to the topic at hand, merely additional mean-spiritedness and personal attacks on someone posting on the topic..
I just call as I see um...And your opinion is based on what stupid? Mine is based on two contract attorneys opinions. I'll take their advise before you lame spin. LOL-1-opinion
Maybe you should ask your lawyer friends to explain what a precedent is. Or more to the point, stare decisis.
I've cited a SC Supreme Court Case in which the SCSC has used Piedemont as a precedent - and built another ruling around that. For the uninformed, you are looking at common law in action. Specifically, Common Law (courts) base their decisions on prior judicial pronouncements rather than on legislative enactments. Piedemont was a judicial pronouncement made within the context of the rules of Home Rule. Quality Towing was a refinement of the prior judicial pronouncement . . .
Are you following?
Oh, for those keeping score at home ... Common Law exists in 49 of the 50 states. Leave it to Louisiana to be the "odd man out" by using a hybrid model that draws on French Civil Law and English Criminal Law.
Oh sources ... right, right ...

While we're talking about legal matters, would either of those "expert lawyers" you consulted ever argued a case before the SCSC? Do they understand the concepts of Common Law, Precedents, and stare decisis? So who are these experts you are consulting? I've shown my hand, how about yours, hmmm?
Cunningham is going to be gone. He made the choice to continue the Preston contentious relationship and try to establish himself as the new ruling Czar. It was a huge mistake. I wonder if God told him to sue his bosses or if was merely Preston is disguise?-1-opinion
Cunningham isn't going anywhere . . .
Between state law, his contract, and the judicial precedents set forth by the SCSC, the incoming council would have to BUY HIM OUT. If you want to see how fast the current CC gets shown the door, try buying out Cunningham.
It's kind or warped that you revel in the county getting screwed and being forced into these unwindable situations. I guess you like us in the dark ages where pettiness and heavy handed politics rule. With people like you pushing for more corruption we really are doomed to remaining the laughing stock of the state.-1-opinion
I fail to see where the County was "screwed." What I do see is that a bunch of bitter, anti-growth, anti-progress individuals finally got their way ... but were not happy that is did not happen on THEIR terms. TRAGIC.
Interesting if what you wrote is true, you just admitted Preston every renewing contract was void come December and there was no need for a buyout. Guess you missed that. D'oh-1-opinion
I'm glad you don't write or review contracts for a living. Just to recap . . .
1.) The question of a need to buyout is MOOT. The buyout has happened. JRP is gone. No more legal action. No more chance of lawsuit from either the County or JRP. The era is over.
2.) Cunningham is the Anderson County Administrator for the next three years. His contract is legally binding, as defined by judicial precedent and state law.
3.) Piedemont delt with a TWENTY YEAR contract of an position NOT DEFINED by state law. That point is critical here folks.
4.) The original Piedemont ruling applies to contractual positions that are NOT DEFINED by state law. The County Administrator is defined BY STATE LAW (this is why I told you to actually READ the findings and not wait for a disc jockey to spoon-feed you the answers YOU WANT TO HEAR).
5.) Quality Towing subsequently refined what was deemed as a "contract of reasonable length."
