Any update on WAIM-1230`s Guru in charge Rick Driver`s trip to see the Govenor of S.C.???? From what I heard, Guru rick and about 50 of his listeners were going to trek to Columbia, show up at the Govenor`s Mansion and ask the Govenor for some time to raise some ruckus about Joey Preston.... ARE YOU KIDDING ME???? I can just see the old 1960`s Greyhound Bus being pulled out of the junk yard for one more journey. I bet that Rick Driver showed up wearing a white "Col. Sanders" retro suit to meet the govenor. Can you image all those older WAIM listeners getting on the old ricky bus?? I can just smell all of the cig. smoke and burning oil/smoke coming out of the back!!!! Can you imagine the stunned tourists in Columbia when the old rust bucket bus pulls into the Governor`s Mansion to see the Govenor???? Did they get in??? Did Gov. Mark Sanford actually talk to them??? I would really like to know...... PLEASE, an update!!!!!!!!!!!

I bet that the WAIM-AM 1230 Magical Mystery Tour Bus will next try to head to Washington, D.C. to tell President George W. Bush about the Joey Preston buyout! Goober is going to have to work real hard to get the bus to make it back out of the junk yard. I think that Rick Driver is Jed Clampett!!!! On WAIM-AM 1230, he really comes off as acting like Jed! Why does he constantly call the Anderson Indepedent Mail- "The Fishwrapper". Is Driver SO stupid that he doesn`t know what his OWN station call letters stand for??? His own station, WAIM-AM 1230 was founded in 1935 by Anderson Independent Daily Mail founder Wilton E. Hall. The WAIM call letters stand for "Anderson Independent Mail"!!!!! How can Rick Driver be so stupid to discrace the newspaper that has a strong history link with his own radio station??? Is Rick Driver trying to be a funny joke of Anderson????
Local history is to be treasured!!!! WAIM and the Anderson Independent-Mail along with WAIM-TV 40 were owned for over 50 years by a great man Wilton E. Hall. It is a part of our local history. Rick Driver is making himself look stupid by calling the Independent Mail "The Fishwrapper"- when his own radio station-W A I M- is named after this paper!!! Sir, why would I have to buy this station??? Are you kidding me???? It is my right to criticize anything that comes over the public airwaves!!! These airwaves belong to the people!!! It is called free speech!!! Why in the hell would I have to buy WAIM??? And yes, Rick Driver can say what he wants on there, but he is responsible for any remarks that are slanderous, wrong, etc.... Nobody has a free ride!!!!!!!!!!

You seem to want to dictate what is said on the station. I suggest if you want to do that... BUY THE STATION! If you don't like what is said on the station... DON'T LISTEN! Otherwise you are tilting at windmills.
So, sir.... are you suggesting that WAIM-AM 1230 is for sale?????? You keep telling me to BUY this radio station. Do you have information that WAIM-AM 1230 is for sale? If so, please list your source for this information. What is the list asking price of WAIM-AM 1230?? How long has it been for sale??? Why is Rick Driver selling WAIM-AM 1230??? I do know that a few years ago, it was public record that WAIM was fined for not keeping a proper FCC log. At the time, Driver aka. Palmetto Broadcasting filed a motion saying that the company and station was in very poor financial shape and pleaing for the fine to be dropped... This is public record... Is WAIM having severe money problems and is selling??? If so, please list sources for this info. Thanks....
Well, that is an interesting interpretation of the WAIM-AM call letters!!! One that I very much tend to agree with. It is sad to me to see a radio station with so much history as WAIM-AM 1230 go down the tubes with present management... The late Wilton Hall must be rolling over in his grave after seeing WAIM now...... The previous poster kept telling me to buy WAIM-AM 1230!!!!!!! I did not know that it was for sale.... I guess that this is the hot new scoop of the night...... Poster says that Rick Driver is selling WAIM-AM!!!!!!! I bid 1 dollar. I hear that WAIM-AM has a LOT of debt.......
