I will be on the bus. Anyone else?

If George Duckworth and Porkchop were on the trip to give a truly balanced dialogue it would be a great trip.

Bus, what bus? I saw a dozen people herded into a couple of vans. Not too impressive. I'm sure the AG is on the edge of his chair. "Oh no, not that group of looney toons again..."

WHAT A SURPRISE!   The big convoy to Columbia turned into a dud.  No audience with the Guv'ner, and still see no SWAT teams, FBI or DOJ surrounding anyone's homes with warrants......

We will all soon learn that NOTHING happened except Rick made a few bucks off the "bus" heist and got his lunch tab picked up by his worshipers. I'm going through my notes. More later.

CREDIBILITY CHECK

I suppose the bus shown on the TV news was some type of "special effect" made to make a van or two look like a full sized bus?

It certainly looked like a real bus to me, Non-seq. Hey, maybe Detroit's changed the definition of "van" to include full-sized buses and Sweet-P has changed to meaning of a "dozen" to "about 50."

The Bus Trip was a bust. PERIOD.

Maybe it was the fact that the Governor saw fit to snub the band of loony-tunes that made the trek to Columbia.

Maybe it was the fact that Rickey Dribble insulted the AG the DAY OF DEPARTURE ... ON THE AIR.

Maybe it was the fact that while Ricky and his band 'o loony-tunes didn't LIKE what happened, it certainly WAS NOT ILLEGAL.

... then to listen to Ricky whine this morning about "... getting rid of governement officials that do nothing ..."

The AG's office is MANDATED BY LAW Rickey. The Governor's office is MANDATED BY LAW Rickey. Just because neither group opted to side with you does not mean they are "useless" or "do nothing."

Get a clue, please. Talk about sinking credibility.

Hey, you're right Non-sequitor, according to the news coverage there was a bus. What I witnessed was apparently a caravan to meet the bus. There were 10-12 people in the group that met at the post office. My error in jumping to the conclusion that this comprised the entire group.

However, the run to the AG, governor, and ethics people was probably not a success. Unless laws were broken--and that has not been proven at this point--they have no case. Gripes and complaints perhaps, but nothing that could be acted on by state officials.

I only hope the individuals on the bus were more polite to the people in Columbia than the venomous crowd that attended the council meeting were on Tuesday night. Mob mentality does not usually play well.

What was funny is that from accounts related, no appointments were made to meet with either the AG's office nor Gov. Sanford.   "I'm Rick Driver and demand to see the King!!!"    Hogwash. No wonder they "were busy".

I was on the "bus" trip. It was a legitimate bus.  If I am not mistaken we had approximately 45-50 riders.  ( I think it was actually 48).  The buys trip was not a bust.  We had a very good conversation with the folks in the AG's office.  AG McMaster was not there (he was out of town), but he did send one of his top lawyers out to meet us.  He listened to our concerns, took a lot of notes, and actually called the Ethics Commission for us asking them to stay a little longer because we were on our way.

The Ethics commission chairman (Mr. Hayden) spoke with some of us and took down our concerns.

The Governor's office was a little less accomodating, but we should be able to take care of this soon.  Do I think it was a bust?  Absolutely not.  Do I think it was effective?  Probably so.  If nothing else, we learned a lot and know which way we should proceed from here.

It was a long day.  We didn't get back home until after 8:00 pm.  I think it was worth it and I feel that we accomplished a lot.

The bus did break down.  We had a flat tire.  Fortuneatly, it was near a rest area, and we were able to get off the bus and stretch etc. while the tire was being changed.

That's about it.

Is it true that the 8 track tape player in the WAIM Magical Mystery Tour Bus broke down while it was playing "The Green, Green Grass of Home" by Tom Jones????
