Black Fridays have now taken on a whole new meaning to me. Watching the masses of lemmings on the news, and seeing the atrocious behavior of those in Long Island, New York, who literally trampled a 34 year old to DEATH just to save a buck, makes me sad for what humans hold dear. Reports from those actually there say not one single soul stopped to help that man, not one of the more than 150 plus who stepped on him, over him or through him. Another story had a 8-month pregnant woman also trampled and caused her to give premature birth right on the spot ( after the jerks who knocked her to the ground left her alone of course). Add to that the news out of California, and the shooting deaths of two customers in Toys-R-Us in full view of moms, kids and families. While we were out today( no, NOT with the idiots out at 3:00 am but a more civil time), a fellow shopper related his story of two individuals at Wal-Mart/29 bypass who literally got into a roll-on-the-floor fist fight over a electronic toy.The sheriff toted both off to the hoozgow. Several stores we were at today had equally distempered customers just aching for a fight over nothing really. A supposedly joyous day at the local mall ends up as funeral arrangements for several families, an almost fatal childbirth, and spouses having to make bail for their spouses.
Is this what the holidays have come to? Where is the christian spirit of it all anymore? I say bah HUMBUG!
