Let's see if we can recall the "cards" y'all have played ?
The race card - on Ms. Floyd and now Michael Cunningham
The negative card - played by OACTA speakers at every council meeting
The hate card - played by nearly every caller to WAIM
The joker - Bob Waldrip and his insipid attempts at humor
The KIng - Rick Driver spreading mean and nasty lies
The Queen - Ms Wilson on her throne as her subjects pay homage
The Duce - Rodney and Charles, back to back stupid calls to WAIM everyday
All the above were in the losing hands.
The winning hand?
The best card played - The trump card!
It has been played by the five council members against Cindy and Bob,the WAIM haters club, (original) ACTA dictators and the three in-coming council puppets of WAIM.
Preston won hands down !

Makes me think of a good song, 'pub . . . one that is spot on.

1-opinion, if I can wipe my eyes enough to drive to the corner I'm going after a couple of suitcases of Bud Lite, cause after that I'm ready to celebrate with the best of them. I admit, but please don't let them know it, I shed a tear thinking of good 'ol Graceless Floyd singing Old Lang Syne while all of us held hands like in that touching video. Will we do it in the Council Chambers after the last meeting or should we go across the street and sing in front of the new court house? The Christmas Tree will be nice to gather round and hold hands. Maybe we could get GAMA there with the orchestra and maybe even some pretty girls a'dancing around. Sullivan's and the Chiquola could furnish a cash bar. WOW, can't wait.

Ellie and Republikin, could one of you girls be my date for that party? I'll pay. If they take credit cards.

(Otherwise, a great post 1-0. Good lesson.)

sshm, good song. Preston sure knew when to fold 'um didn't he? Turned in his hand while he still had 5 players in the game handing him the aces under the table. Too bad that mean 'ol Cindy and Bob happened to see them aces being moved around under the table and called their hands. I heard that Joey and his Gang still owe the bank a bundle. Time for them to settle up with us, right?

I am a little confused. Why would you want to moderate or warn someone for blogging? Is this site moderated? Are you the moderator? Do you not allow free speech?

I have only been here a couple of days. I can't find much offensive with the postings. Maybe I am missing something. Sounds like spirited debate and opinion.

It looks like to me (and this is only my opinion as a newbie)that the teacher just walked back into the class and wants to control the debate.

-politicalhacksc

Yes, Policitalhacksc, this is a moderated forum. Yes, I am one of five moderators. Yes, we allow free speech. What we don't allow is personal attacks founded on lies, half-truths, innuendo and cheap, tawdry suggestions of impropriety without a shred of evidence.

If you've truly been here only a couple of days, you have no idea what preceded that mild warning. If you've been here under another name for awhile, you know exactly what it was about.

Your new thread from a couple of days ago regarding statewide races drew a lot of comments and a lot of discussion. Thanks for creating that one. You have done absolutely nothing under your current screen name that should concern either you or me as far as that moderation, and I strongly suspect from reading your posts that you won't.

But if you are one of those people who equate "moderation" with "censorship" or an infringement on free speech, perhaps this isn't the place for you. We love a good debate here. What we don't like is the ongoing effort to DESTROY political opponents PERSONALLY. Prevail, 1-Opinion and several others go far, far past political debate sometimes.

Glad to see you play cards as well as you play chess. I feel like we're not done yet. Two more meetings, er, rounds of poker to be played.

I still like the chess analogy here, SSHM. After Joey castled a month or so ago, he caught the opposition's queen in an exposed position. Since then, she's sent out a couple of sacrificial pawns (Prevail and 1-Opinion) to try and to rescue her from her weak position, but I don't see it happening.

Checkmate in ... three moves. Laughing

Like sshm likes to say:

Checkmate, after Dec. 31. Our Queen, the most powerful player in the game, has won the jackpot. Don't know if I will accept the administrator position or not. I've always preferred the Hangman title. I just love to see those very last looks before I take their office keys away from them and kick them down the stairs. 1-0pinion may be the new county council. Just a barroom rumor JDTippett so don't get too excited and start your finger pointing.

republikin dear

It takes someone with a wry sense of humor to appreciate Waldrep's quips.

They weren't scanning your brain it was a security check. However your comment alludes to the degree of disdain that those who would be invited to such an event have for the rest of the people of this county. I am not quite mortally offended.

Was Thompson able to attend your soiree? Floyd should have asked for a doctor and some Xanax or Valium not a silly mint. No wonder he headed for Sullivan's poor bloke.

I agree with SSHM <gasp> they are not done with their dirty deeds. What queen sent me anywhere and will I have a county credit card when I go?

Can you provide direct quotes where the "race card" has been played against Floyd and now Cunningham? I can't remember seeing any racial slurs passed about and I have no doubt JD would have taken care of that immediately.

I know what you mean JDTippett. That elliefant makes ignorant and unfounded statements all the time. Hope Santa crosses her name off the list and gives all her makeup to republikin, who really needs to put on a different face. Are you still in town JDTippett or at the beach right now?

-prevail

Well Prevail. They are no more ignorant nor unfounded than your statements.

You obviously missed the memo, Prevail. Poker game's over. Joey took that jackpot, all $1.14 million of it. Now, whether or not he had an Ace up his sleeve is yet to be determined, but that game's over. He's claimed that jackpot, and now he's going to take his winnings to another table.

Ellie said "Well Prevail. They are no more ignorant nor unfounded than your statements."

True. We are so much alike.

But you did not answer my invitation. I asked you if you would be my date for the big going away party after the last council meeting in December. Republikin turned me down so I'm counting on you!!

RSVP please.

JDTippett said about Joey Ray "He's claimed that jackpot, and now he's going to take his winnings to another table."

Who, in their right mind, would let Joey Ray in their game with all the accusations some people have made about him being a cheat the past few years? He would have to go all the way to Massachusetts to find anyone that stupid.

Nah, Prevail, he found more than enough suckers right here in Anderson County who were willing to go all-in when he called their bluff. Some of them are so slow they don't even know yet the hand's over. Who knows? Maybe he'll stick around as assistant Administrator and sit in on the next hand, too.

By the way, don't panic too much about finding a date for that big going-away party. Ol' JDTippett might be able to find you a lady who is more attuned to your style of politics. Got three bucks? Laughing

JDTippett thinks I'm rich when he said "By the way, don't panic too much about finding a date for that big going-away party. Ol' JDTippett might be able to find you a lady who is more attuned to your style of politics. Got three bucks? Laughing"

Sounds like you must be talking about some nice ladies on the Noth side of town, the Boulevard class. I tend to go for the Southern charm on the Southern end of town, same but much cheaper.

(Did you have anyone in particular in mind?)

PalmettoNative should never had said "Interesting thought there JD.. Putin did manage to get himself named Prime Minister of Russia after he couldnt be president any longer....."

I sure hope Preston and his Gang are not monitoring this forum. Might give them ideas.

Of course they monitor this forum, Prevail, if only on the outside chance that you or 1-Opinion accidentally says something that's based on a real, honest-to-God fact.

I think JD is goading you prevail.

JD, from the view up here it looks like the game is far from over. Preston just played three hands last Tuesday. I hope Thompson girds up his loins for what is required of him at the next meeting and the one after that as well. Then it's game over until the next Council is seated. The degree of change and how that change comes depends of how much has to be undone and how to accomplish that change. Who thought Anderson, SC would take on the Obama campaign promise? LOL

Next round, contracts that have not been properly put out for bid. The light at the end of the tunnel is that once these 5 have finished, they may also be finished. The thing that amazes me is that anyone thinks either "side" won. For people who consider themselves intelligent this was actually a lose lose situation for everyone but Preston. He is playing his little chess game with no regard for what happens to his puppets or the county. Even the cost to his life can be totaled out as a loss unless he has a "come to Jesus" moment. LOL

BTW I have never been a C Wilson man or a Waldrep man, I have been able to look at what has been asked and the result from some unrelenting requests. The outcome has so far been interesting the old go on the offensive rather than defensive ploy. I, "we" have every hope that Cunningham stops all this silly crap (please do excuse the offensive language ms. merrymac) and opens the books with a que sera sera attitude. Surely a man of God and family will have no problem being honest and open. Then it may change the playing board. How fun would it be to see a man of God tell the Assistant Administrator, "you're fired"? LOL JD you have offered me the best hope of retribution yet. LOL

The soon to be former Council cannot waive criminal prosecution. They actually can not waive the right for the next Council to seek remedy. It's stupid but it's Anderson politics and it is both fun and annoying to watch. It's rather like WWF wrestling, you don't want to watch but you can't help but do so and laugh at the theatrics behind it. ROTFLMAO I'll forgo that McFood #3 combo and raise you 3 #4's. LOL I can afford the bills can everyone else?

This game is so far incomplete. OK, out here.
