Don't know, Andersonretro, because I almost never listen to that show. But I'm told he did mention in passing earlier this week something about Joey Preston being on his way. That's at least one positive thing. [image]

No! Rick Driver can't say ANYTHING positive. It goes against his nature.
Also, JD: Not everyone in AC thinks Preston leaving is a "positive" thing.
Sadly (for some) it is going to happen. Why do people feel the need to continue to hammer him? Many of us believe the court would have awarded Preston a higher severance package. Why roll the dice ?
Trust me I(you don't have to of course) if the in-coming council would have appointed Harvell or Jackie hunter or one of their other lackey cohorts they would have justified that move on the same basis - it' time to move on. What they don't like is that they got one-up'd ! Or as you put, they'd showed their cards.
By the way, I'm not a Joey "insider" despite what some on this blog try to make it out to be. I don't have any family working for the county. I've never made any money on real estate from Anderson County. No member of my family has either. Fact is, I PAY Anderosn County, through taxes, fees and other support. What I get in return is what other taxpayers get. I just happen to believe that despite some faults, Preston is a good man, a more than capable administrator who he has contributed mightily to Anderosn County. Plus, he's been a good citizen, helping with charities and other common good projects.
So, he has flaws. Will, twist my wiskers, who doesn't have flaws?
If there is a farewell party, I hope I can attend. I'll shake his hand, thank him for his service and wish him well. That's what good citizens do. Now, if he slips me a few thou...... just kidding ;-)
