Why is Rick Driver of WAIM-AM 1230 always so negative about Anderson? Why is he not PROUD of our town? If he doesn`t like things, wht does he not try to fix them in a postive way. Way too much HATE is coming from WAIM-AM 1230. What would founder Wilton Hall have to say about it???

Why is Rick Driver of WAIM-AM 1230 always so negative about Anderson? Why is he not PROUD of our town? If he doesn`t like things, wht does he not try to fix them in a postive way. Way too much HATE is coming from WAIM-AM 1230. What would founder Wilton Hall have to say about it???-andersonretro
My opinions answering above questions.
Why ? He makes money from his niche of hate and fear peddling radio show and his band of venom spewers.
Why ? Most of respectable Anderson will have nothing to do with him. He's NEVER been accepted. Check his advertisers, they are fringe businesses who don't know any better than to buy hate radio. Few of his advertisers stay long. Many go out of business after a few flights on the Driver Show.
Why ? He doesn't fix anything, he tears things (and people) down.
Why? Hate, destruction, subterfuge is easier than love, building things up and positive support.

Huh? I usually agree with you. However I've read some pretty serious threats thrown out on here. I can't help but think it was serious. Maybe we need to get JD to moderate the Driver show.

Does Rick Driver actually own WAIM-AM? Is he the president of Palmetto Braodcasting Company? Didn`t Mr. Allison own WAIM for a long time. I think that he is now with WRIX-FM.

Rick Driver is like Joey Preston in this way - both are lightning rods. But sens whatever bolts at Driver you want. His little AM station became a major political force in the last three years and he was a significant factor in the defeat of the three incumbents this year. Like it or not, there is a segment of the population that agrees with Driver and he gives them a public voice. In June, that voice was loudly heard at the polls.How long that voice echoes remains to be seen, but you'll be hearing it for a while.
I agree that WAIM-AM 1230 and Rick Driver has a fan base. But my wuestion is this, why the same old negative thing over and over and over.....again- every day!!!!!!! It just seems like they could play the same tape of one show over and over again and bobody would miss anything important. It just seems like Rick Driver is SO negative and angry. What solutions does he pose to th eproblems. He seems to sprew hate and anger over the WAIM-AM airwaves. Does he ever suggest that everyone can sit down and fix everything in a postive way? Why does he make everything so personal? It seems like he launches personal attacks on anyone that he doesn`t like. The old Matt and Bev Show on WRIX-FM 103.1 did a much better job. Where is Bev Brandon now? Is she still working for Rick Driver in sales at WAIM-AM?

Since joining the forum you have complained about Driver's radio show, complained about the UFO show on WAIM, the WRIX format, complained about the hospital ER, complained about the JP time to move on, and so on!
You haven't exactly been a bundle of joy and sunshine on here yourself! I don't know if Driver evens reads this blog. But you do! So why don't you start the ball rolling. Why don't you name 10 positive things about Anderson? Then we will all that a turn!
Nice things about Anderson
1.) the traffic isn't anything like NY
2.) If you don't want to meet your neighbors you do not have to, if you do, you can BBQ every weekend
3.) Clemson games clear out Anderson so shopping and traffic are easy
4.) Sullivan's, Jax, Grits & groceries, Super Taco
5.) Dillards & Kohls
6.) TCTC
7.) A grocery store at every light
8.) A church at every corner
9.) all 4 seasons, the bad one shorter than the others
10) country, green, forests and we are not Atlanta and Greeneville is only 45 minutes away

Lake Heartwell? The mud pit? Really? After we have 20" of rain okay but right now that is a source of water rights dispute fixin' to happen. <g>

3 CLOSE TO MOUNTAINS OR SHORE
4 OUR OWN VETERANS CEMETARY
5 IT IS IN SC AND ENJOYS SC LAW (CWP, ETC)
6 GOOD HEALTH CARE
7 REGINAL AIRPORT
8 MAJOR URBAN AREAS A SHORT DRIVE BY INTERSTATE
9 BEAUTIFUL RURAL SCENERY
10 IT IS MY HOME
10 great things about Anderson
1.) Is in South Carolina
2.) Lake Hartwell (still a prime Striper fishing lake. And will again be a great boater, water sport, hang out lake.)
3.) Close to UGA, USC, Furman, and yes, even Clemson. (Good football area.)
4.) Seldom too cold, or too hot.
5.) Not too far to mountains or ocean.
6.) Close to Atlanta, Greenville, Asheville, without the traffic.
7.) Cost of living.
8.) Pretty good shopping, without the traffic.
9.) The people
10.) The friendly, family atmospheric, everyone welcome, group hug, forums
