former-cop you are absolutely correct. I am sorry that sometimes my ire tends to let me lose sight of the fact anyone can say (almost) anything they want.

BTW honkey you are making a rash wrong assumption of who I voted for in the just past presidential election.

-nomadron

I don`t remember making any assumption of who anyone voted for, maybe I just made a statement based on something you said. Refresh my memory, working swing shift sometimes makes one forgetful.

Honk, again you said something I agree with. We shouldn't just praise our troops once a year. However, when someone does praise them, maybe a simple "I praise them too" and let our other gripes and complaints go for just a moment would be better served. Don't you think??? We have all the time and places in the world to run down whatever we want. However sometimes, if even for a brief moment, it's OK to put everything else aside, and say thank you to our troops, and damn fine job!

-former-cop

a

I have to agree with you on the aboveand the reason we can gripe and bitch is because of our Veterans no matter what branch they served in or what there MOS was. They all, everyone of them contributed to our ability to say pretty much what we want.

I did want this thread to stay a way to praise the vets and all they did for this country.

I for one am GLAD America grew up and put aside the politics behind the wars and did not hold the TROOPS accountable for the atrocities the administrations did.  At least the returning soldiers aren't being spat upon, sprayed with urine or feces, called baby-killers or other terrible names.  My hope is someday there will be no wars for them to have to RETURN from.

Wyatt, I think this will be the last one you,and I will see, we don`t have the funds to finance another one, unless China is willing to take an I.O.U. There is a Veterans Day ceremony tomorrow morning in downtown Iva, to honor our troops, I plan to be there do anyone of you flag wavers plan to see me there? Don`t just talk the talk, walk the walk.

Anarchy, is exactly what we have just had at the polls in this election, or are you to blinded by your loyalty to a failed Administration, President, and Party, to see it

-honkeydonkey

This is what I refered to in my post. You have no clue what person or party I voted for in this election or the previous one.

Sorry donkey, can't make it. I'm working all night and to drive from work, to Iva, and then home again would put myself and everyone else on the road in danger. I will continue to "walk the walk" by on going donations for care packages for the troops overseas at this time. I'll also continue to, if at all possible, stop whatever I'm doing and shake the hand of every serviceman or woman I see as well as any veteran displaying their veteran status. I hope that is up to snuff for ya.

Yes, then how could I make reference to it, are you on drugs or something. I`m not getting what you are trying to relay to me.

Well that will have to do, I guess. In reference to veterans displaying anything, to me is like hearing a veteran talk about what thay did while in the military, most don`t do it, and most who do are just pretending most of the time. Most real veterans would rather not be reminded of what they were asked to do, even if it was in the line of duty.Thay might be proud of defending their country, but a lot are ashamed of some of the things they saw, and had a part in. And I do speak from experience.

Nah, there will be ANOTHER Republican in office again, and the war machine wheels will roll once more.

Besides, Japan owns more of America than China, or didn't you read the Sunday PARADE magazine article???

Yes, but the Japanese are an intelligent race, they will unload us to the Chinese, before we become a worthless third class country.

Well glad you approve, I guess. There are still some proud ones out there and I also speak from experience. I have also seen things I'm ashamed of, however that doesn't take away from what our military, and Country have done. Most of which I am proud of. Again, I guess we'll just have to disagree on this one too.

Everyone should have a right to his, or her opinion, as long as they don`t try to force it on someone else. I think we can both agree to agree on that.

And once again we find common ground. By the way, if you've ever had a "hot&now" I'm pretty sure you'd be on them pretty quick too.

See what happens when people let people work out their own problems. Don`t you wish the world could do the same thing, and then we wouldn`t have anything to disagree about.

I would venture to guess that it`s you they are laughing at, with a song like that.
