Ya know citizen you and honkydonkey seem to want to go to any lengths to create controvery where there is none. That quote is from another thread, a thread where you and he/she seem to want to go out of your way to slam the military and this country. This thread is for honoring our service men and women take that stuff to the other thread there are plenty of them or start another one. It does not belong on this thread.

-noeline

You are totally ignorant my friend!

FYI:  That quote is the third post in this topic's thread.

I posted it for informational purposes only - not because I'm supporting anyones particular position on the subject.

I responded to a subject that is on this thread and if you don't like it than I suggest you have one of our many moderators remove all posts concerning this subject or transfer them to another, new, thread.

Meanwhile I've started a Topic/thread on VETERAN'S DAY 2008 that you are welcome to participate in - That is if your ignorance and animosity doesn't get in the way!

GOD BLESS ALL VETERANS ..  (and Charlie Daniels too)

Well Bless your heart! I'm sure you and honkeydonkey compliment each other's views and will make a fine couple! How nice it would have been if you two had started your thread earlier and posted your disparaging comments/ideas about our military there instead of trying to tear down another's post with name calling of the poster and hurtful comments about the military.

My post`s have in no way been agains`t our fighting men, They have been agains`t the dirty politicians, and foolhearty flag wavers that are willing to sacrifice our young men in a holy war, that can`t be won, as it has been going on over there since Jesus walked that area over 2000 years ago. The only reason we are there now is Oil money for the fat cats, and redemption for Bush`s old man.I see no glory in that , and nothing to be proud of.If this is tearing anything down, then I am guilty, but only of telling it like I see it, and am hearing it from a lot of others who think like me.Consider the vote for the President, don`t you think the American people are tired of just what you are promoting?

A history lesson for you: Since its creation our nation is a nation where the politician(civilians) determine who, what, where, and how our forces fight. Wailing and gnashing your teeth over what you see as poor reasons to fight will not change that. None of my posts have said anything about this contry's civilian leadership until now. During my time in I had presidents in office that I did not like and did not support with my vote. But I kept faith with my fellow soldiers/sailors/airmen/marines and followed my orders. We are a nation of laws. Our law is civilians govern the military. Otherwise we would be some second rate banana republic having a military coup every time the military did not like why they were being sent to fight. So let me make this very plain to you. No matter what the polotician/civilian leaders do I will never break faith with a fellow soldier. I will never tell the family of a soldier wounded or killed that it was because of "OIL". I don't give a tinker's damn about what you say about the civilian leadership. But when you carry that over to the people in uniform we are in major disagreement! Anarchy is not the answer!

Anarchy, is exactly what we have just had at the polls in this election, or are you to blinded by your loyalty to a failed Administration, President, and Party, to see it

We have always had the anti-American and anti-military groups and they are increasing. Result: A possible Muslim is checking out the former White House today and making plans to move in. We still have the proud flag wavers that still love our nation for all it has stood for and they are the ones that support our military and the American way. And there are many that were in the military that, upon being discharged or kicked out, start their personal hate war against the president and the military. Our troops are in the mid-East fighting our enemies hoping to keep the war in their neck of the woods, or sand, and not bring the war to our shores. They are not there taking over the oil and sending it back to us as some believe. Anyone that would bash our fighting men do not deserve to live in our country and call themselves Americans. And I'm for deporting every sorry ass that does not support our fighting men and women.

You are welcome to come and deport me, and all my family anytime you see fit, since Rick has given you permission to call us sorry asses. And as far as looking for individual`s that the military kicked out, you better start looking at some in your Klan, my Dad knows of a couple that got less than honorable discharges. Want names, contact Rino over at Hankey`s place.

Once again a topic has been hijacked and turned into another topic that does not faintly resemble what the originator intended. There should be rules against that. The topic is meant to thank our veterans and members of the armed services.

nomad, I understand and agree with what you are saying. However, cit. and honk.'s post are actually some of the greatest testimonies to our military one could post. If not for the military, moronic anti-government babble would not be allowed. We praise the men and women of the military for what they do. These two provide proof they are still doing it well.

And at the cost of countless young lives, we should all be so proud for one day a year. Then go back to whatever we do the rest of the year while they are still dieing daily.

honkeydonk...I was praising our troops and bashing anyone that hates them. Why do you take offense to that? Which side are you and your family on? I still wave my Old Glory, don't you? I don't drop in to these blogs very often and I'm surprised that anyone would object to me kicking some butts that hate America and our service men and women. Wow. No wonder Hussein won.

I love my country the same as you say you do, and I`ll stand up for any of our fighting men anytime, I will wave my flag the same as any red-blooded American, but I will draw the line at any more young American lives being wasted for the almighty dollar, to fill some fat-cat,or politicians pocket.I only hate what a very few are doing to our country in the false name of patriotism .

Honk, again you said something I agree with. We shouldn't just praise our troops once a year. However, when someone does praise them, maybe a simple "I praise them too" and let our other gripes and complaints go for just a moment would be better served. Don't you think??? We have all the time and places in the world to run down whatever we want. However sometimes, if even for a brief moment, it's OK to put everything else aside, and say thank you to our troops, and damn fine job!

Honkey said "I love my country the same as you say you do, and I`ll stand up for any of our fighting men anytime."

I'm glad to hear you say that honkey. Sounds good. I have my flag flying at my house and I hope everyone will display Old Glory tomorrow and everyday.

former-cop you are absolutely correct. I am sorry that sometimes my ire tends to let me lose sight of the fact anyone can say (almost) anything they want.

BTW honkey you are making a rash wrong assumption of who I voted for in the just past presidential election.
