Well, we really don't have any choice but to give him a chance, noeline. But I remain wary of this guy and the free pass he was given by the mainstream media. I go by instincts a good bit and my instincts about this guy and the concerted effort to coronate him make the hair stand up on the back of my neck.I think he's going to be exactly the radical he appears to be.

Dunebuggy, I have to agree with you about the free pass and coronation of him by way too many in the mainstream media. I go by instincts too and it is going take alot to give him the benefit of the doubt, none the less. We will have to wait to see the kind of people he chooses to serve in his cabinet, that should give us a clearer picture of the kind of leader he will be.

I have a question?  If Obama is for the little people and will do so much to help those with lower income,  why does he have such a huge support in Hollywood (as do most Dems)?  (Don't say because he's against the war, next option.)  Also, why is everyone saying give him a chance?  Don't recall that being said about any other pres elect.  (as usual 2 questions)

The price of guns and ammunition has gone up a lot in the last three weeks. Is it connected to the election?

Don't know, non-sequiter. I'm all stocked up right now and haven't noticed. But I did get new e-mail from Natches Shooters' Supply this morning with great sale prices on rifle scopes, and I'm told they have a nice pre-Christmas sale on ammunition going on, too. Check out www.natchezss.com and you might find a good deal.

Well I guess we have to give him a chance because he was elected by the people. However he just earned strike one, by naming Rahm Emanuel, he is one of the most devisive people in congress.

Thanks JD, I will. Have you had any trouble buying online?

It is ammunition I am most concerned about. I have plenty of weapons. But I don't think you can ever have too much ammunition.

The only problem I ever had buying ammo online is the shipping cost. That stuff's heavy. Usually, unless it's a GREAT price, you come out just as cheaply to go to Grady's for all your ammo needs.

(This commercial has been brought to you by the fine folks at Grady's.) Smile

Ammo costs have skyrocketed since the war started. Prices are almost 1/3 more and rising due to shipping.  Gradys AIN'T the cheap place. Academy Sports in Spartaqnburg has the hands-down lowest prices for ammo, but the gas may even out the costs.  I buy Federal Aluminum jacket NEw loads for $6.95 a box of 50. Can't beat price over what Gradys charges for a box of 50 ( $16.75 for Federal brass).

Wyatt ever think the cost difference is the materials. Brass is a lot more expensive than aluminum. so why not ask Grady's if they would order the aluminum jackets for you the price might surprise you.

I've shot both types, for thousands of rounds, and noticed not one difference in ballistics, grouping or jamming issues. Brass is for those who reload their own ammo, while aluminum is not reloadable due to heat expansion. I don't reload, just too lazy & stupid, and don't want to damage my weapons by a bad or over-powered round.   Gradys does not carry aluminum rounds because the profitability is not there for them.  Grady's is almost the only store now who sells ammo ( Bucks & Bass is closing, and Dicks sells a limited assortment of ammo for only popular calibers)  When Gradys sells a 500 round box of .22 ammo for nearly $20. when it can be bought at K-Mart for $14.00 for the SAME thing, you know they have a monopoly on the sporting goods market. When I go out to the range I easily blow through a thousand rounds, and at $20 a box times 20 boxes, vs $7.00 a box, it makes economic sense to use aluminum rounds for qualification or practice.   Sure wish we'd get a Bass Pro Shop closer here.......

Yeah but Wyatt why not try White jones or some other store that carry guns and if they are really good business people. Try asking it doesn't cost a thing and the only thing they can say is no. On the other hand they could wind up saving you time and money.

Ditto ! Where's the "change" in that ? He's got 'ole worn out, angry Biden and now one of the biggest political hacks (former Clinton co-conspiritor) in Washington. He's a sneaky political operative. That's change we can count on?

However, Senator Graham from the great state of South Carolina said this about Emanuel;

"This is a wise choice by President-elect Obama. I worked closely with him during the presidential debate negotiations which were completed in record time.  When we hit a rough spot, he always looked for a path forward.  I consider Rahm to be a friend and colleague.  He's tough but fair.  Honest, direct, and candid.  These qualities will serve President-elect Obama well".

I truly believe that Lindsey is not happy if he is not trying to please the left. He goes across the aisle more than he stays on his own side. I was hoping McCain would get elected and appoint Lindsey as a secretary over waste management. Something he should be very knowledgeable about.

Like I ever trusted what graham said about anything. I didn't vote for him and I don't believe anything he says.

Nor am I a fan of Lindsey.

His statement just illustrates the disunity within the Republican party.

I feel the same way! I voted for him the first time, but not this time. More and more he opens his mouth and spews the Democratic line! I voted the first time he ran for the Senate for a Republican. What I got was a "DEMO-LICAN"! I will never vote for graham again.

Like I said we have to give him a chance, after all he ran on few conservative issues, such as tax cuts and strong security for the country.

I find it quite interesting (and almost surreal) that the constituents of SC re elected their *allegedly* gay senator.

Isn't this the same thing as his predecessor, the segregationist, who had a bi-racial daughter?

I have nothing against gay folks and believe that orientation, race or gender have no bearing on a candidate's ability to do the job, but our senator's credibility is at stake, especially since he was on the front line of the losing side of the presidential election.
