Don't like the change on council? Don't like the lack of change at the solicitors office? Not sure about the new sheriff? Don't know who or what that Soil Commissioner does?
Don't worry! South Carolina has you covered!

Let's look at the rules surrounding write-in candidates here:
http://www.state.sc.us/scsec/writein.htm
Many folks will look at item #2 and say you can't write someone in. Re-read what is stated CAREFULLY. Heck, I'll print it here for you:
A defeated primary candidate may not actively offer or campaign as a write-in candidate for the ensuing election.
That is true. That is the law. HOWEVER, the law says NOTHING if I, or other concerned citizens act on behalf of the defeated primary candidate. All the law states is that the defeated primary candidate must be, for all intensive purposes, quiet.
In addition, folks will point to the last item, which reads (read CAREFULLY):
Write-in votes are not allowed in primary elections or the election of President or Vice-president. Write-in votes are allowed for all other elections.
Did you catch that last sentence? Let me type it again:
Write-in votes are allowed for ALL other elections.
So, with that said folks, the proverbial fat lady has yet to sing. It IS possible to return to council members who lost their primaries in June. Know your rights as a voter. On November 4th, ask to write-in who YOU think the best people are for Anderson County.
It's all about CHESS.
