Yes, I know we won & they lost, and we all should just let it go.....but this STORY is so unbelievable and ties right into what a CROOK Palin is.

I see those SARAH! stickers on people's cars & I wonder why some Americans are so gullible.

Just For Fun: Palin Spending Spree MUCH WORSE Than Thought

Okay - a little bit of levity on this historic day. Here’s a story that will get you smiling: Newsweek reports that Sarah Palin’s infamous spending sprees on clothing (something she blamed on the campaign), were MUCH WORSE than previously anticipated. Yes, that’s right, much worse than $150,000:

NEWSWEEK has also learned that Palin’s shopping spree at high-end department stores was more extensive than previously reported. While publicly supporting Palin, McCain’s top advisers privately fumed at what they regarded as her outrageous profligacy.

How outrageous was this profligacy? Well, take a look at this:

One senior aide said that Nicolle Wallace had told Palin to buy three suits for the convention and hire a stylist. But instead, the vice presidential nominee began buying for herself and her family—clothes and accessories from top stores such as Saks Fifth Avenue and Neiman Marcus.

Just as in her days in Alaska, when she charged the taxpayers for her time spent at home, or countless other remarkable boondoggles, Diva Palin can’t resist grabbing while the gettin’s good. But she didn’t just use her own expense account to buy clothes, but she had some of her underlings charge it on their cards too!

According to two knowledgeable sources, a vast majority of the clothes were bought by a wealthy donor, who was shocked when he got the bill. Palin also used low-level staffers to buy some of the clothes on their credit cards. The McCain campaign found out last week when the aides sought reimbursement.

But here’s my favorite part. Ready for it?:

One aide estimated that she spent “tens of thousands” more than the reported $150,000, and that $20,000 to $40,000 went to buy clothes for her husband. Some articles of clothing have apparently been lost. An angry aide characterized the shopping spree as “Wasilla hillbillies looting Neiman Marcus from coast to coast,” and said the truth will eventually come out when the Republican Party audits its books.

Okay, where to begin? First of all - $20-$40,000 for her husband’s clothes? Men, are you with me here? What the hell would you spend that much on for clothing? Certainly nothing that was essential in the two months between her nomination and the election. She had to know that, so clearly she was loading up while she could.

And some “have apparently been lost?” Please. They’ve been lost deep into Palin’s closet.

According to the Newsweek story, the aides kept McCain in the dark about this so as not to enrage him.

Palin, the hardcore ladder-climber, made a request to the campaign to speak alongside McCain’s concession speech .

Understand this: Sarah Palin wanted to speak as part of John McCain’s concession speech. Steve Schmidt (wisely) vetoed the request.

Yea! It's absolutely horrible. I heard she stopped at a McDonalds and had an egg McMuffin and coffee and paid for it on an Anderson County credit card.
Is there no end to the financial abuses? I mean, I'm just say'n.

I also heard that Todd spilled some hot coffee on her shoulder and that soon Sarah will own that McDonalds.

Hey, if Palin had a husband who got $10Million from the Saudi sheiks or a huge book advance, she would have had plenty of money for clothes. That's how the Clintons do it.

Oooohhh   like Cindy McCain's bazillions???  Thankfully she can afford those weekly facial stretchings and forehead raisings

Palin get my years salary in clothes for her hubby. Aren't you people supposed to be the fiscal conservatives? Or is it just social conservatism you are worried about now?

Appreciate that V, guess you've seen the prices of kitty litter lately.  Axe-ually  we adopted another unwanted soul today from the shelter, canine in species.  Poor dear was literally shaking and trembling in fear inside her prison cell.  I had to carry her in my arms out of the shelter to get some fresh air.  She piddled, cowered and shook so badly we HAD to rescue her. So we may need to split that ticket 50-50....now I gotta buy DOG treats.

I only HOPE someone would adopt her sibling brother.  Both of them were obviously traumatized as puppies ( about 5 months old now)  and simply loved the human touch they both got today.  I just can't take TWO dogs, my cats would revolt and I'd have a cat-tastrophie in my house!

Of the new addition we got?  She's a mixed shepard, black with a slight tint of brown on her tail tip and paws.  Her brother is also same colors, with two perfect cresent moons over his eyes. We wanted both really, but seriously we don't have time for two dogs and it's not fair to them to get a dog and neglect them outside.  She's getting her spay in the morning ans we'll haul her to castle CAT-attack when she recovers.   She was soooo adorable outside the shelter today.  There's two feral kitties outside, and she belly-crawled s-l-o-w-l-y inching towards them to investigate what they were and sniff the tabby.  Such a scared little girl, she quiverred and hid under the bench once the kitty showed a hint of "poof".   Wonder how she'll do here.....

On a positive note today.  We noticed at least 8 "ADOPTED" cards posted on cages today.  I thank those who opened their hearts to giving a new home to those animals. I encourage anyone looking for a new friend to go up there and rescue a new roommate.  THAT would be the best Christmas gift you could ever have, unconditional LOVE.

I can now understand why conservatives don't like Mrs. Clinton. Really, I get the exact same response with Mrs. Palin.

Unless you watch Faux News, we won't have to hear that 'prostitute-from-the-movie-Fargo' voice again for a long time.

And Citizen1... you ought to have that thing looked at.

Wyatt, we got our new dog at the animal shelter this past summer.  We have laughed and laughed at how the animal shelter described this dog.  The card read--sheepdog, app. 4 years old.  Well that is anything but accurate.  Turns out he's a boxer-schnauzer mix app 12-18 months old.  Instead of the sedate loping lolling adult sheepdog we thought we were getting we now have a crazy mixed-up animated schnoxer who chews up everything in the house including any chocolate candy he can scoop off the table and baklava that's left over after the Greek Festival.  Oh yeah--he's afraid of the dark and gets carsick.  But we couldn't be happier with Jack the schnoxer.  He's a great dog and fits in with our three cats who are also from the animal shelter.  Even with the missed description Jack's a great dog.  If anyone is thinking about a dog, I suggest they visit the animal shelter.

I think Palin would have been attacked had she not been well dressed so there was merit in spiffying her up. However even without reading this I thought the orginal figures were bad. Many a frugal woman knows that you can spread your outfits out with mixing and matching. A fraction of the money could have been spent with the same effect. I can't help but wonder what the average person on the street who gave money to the party must be thinking.

Hey, Obama spent almost $1Million getting his campaign private jet re-outfitted. It was done with campaign funds. Also, I believe that all the money spent on campaign clothes for Palin was donated for that purpose. If so, that was their choice.

If any of you would check the actual story you would see that the clothes and shoes were bought in several sizes to make sure they would fit. that includes the clothes bought for the husband and kids. I would love to know what the actual cost of the clothes was and how many if any were kept. In addition if Palin had gone on a shopping spree it would have been all over the news. I mean she stopped at wal-mart to buy something for the baby and we saw it on the news for three days. So smarten up people your falling for bs.

Repub when the story originally broke it was reported that because of some clause in the how funds can be spent book of rules the money had to come from the republican party not individual donors. Personally  I didn't give the republican party a dime so it's no big deal to me, but as someone who has solicited funds for various candidates I wonder how it will effect fund raising next time. Regardless of what Noeline believes to be true, and I am not saying it isn't, JQ Public is going to go no further than the headline Palin spend X number of dollars.

I think it was only (yeah only) $500,000.00
Anyhow they ALL have to do this since it is a national campaign.

Tax law allows for persoanl gifts up to $10,000 or $11,000 per year, per person. So, you could give me $11,000 tax free. You don't get a tax break, but I get $11,000 to spend on what I wish.

Some where along the line the full and true story of the great Palin clothes caper will be told. Do I sense a book coming out?

Given the amount of money Obama spent, a few outfits for a terrific candidates is being very picky.

Amen!  My Chesty (white lab) came from the Animal Shelter. He is the most wonderful dog in the universe.  I went in to get a little dog (about 30 lbs) ....  Chesty weighs 130.

But what a dog!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
