Is Obama's plan of taxing the rich an example of doing the right job? When you tax the rich and give breaks to the middle class, you put an extra $500-$1000 in the pocket of the middle class worker, while increasing expenses to the rich corporations.(the Obama way) That causes the rich to increase costs, which is ultimately paid for by the middle class/consumer (there goes our $500-$1000). When you give a tax break to the rich, you free up a few 30-50k /yr. jobs for the middle class. I'm middle class. I'll take a 50k/yr. job from a rich corporation over a $1000 check from the government any day. If you're going to vote for Obama, at least make sure he's doing the right job, and he is not.

whip your but with that.

Bush Strategist:
McCain Knows He Put Country At Risk With Palin Pick

Matthew Dowd, a prominent political consultant and chief strategist for George W. Bush's reelection campaign eviscerated John McCain on Tuesday for his choice of Sarah Palin as vice president.

Dowd proclaimed that, in his heart of hearts, McCain knew he put the country at risk with his VP choice and that he would "have to live" with that fact for the rest of his career.

"They didn't let John McCain pick the person he wanted to pick as VP," Dowd declared during the Time Warner Summit panel. "When Sarah Palin got picked instead of Joe Lieberman, which I fundamentally believed would have given John McCain the best opportunity in this race... as soon as he picked Palin, that whole ready versus not ready argument was not credible."

Saying that Palin was a "net negative" on the ticket, he went on: "[McCain] knows, in his gut, that he put somebody unqualified on the ballot. He knows that in his gut, and when this race is over that is something he will have to live with... He put somebody unqualified on that ballot and he put the country at risk, he knows that."

The other panelists were surprised, a bit, by Dowd's bluntness. Not least because McCain's well-known campaign motto is "country first."

"No, I don't agree," said Mark McKinnon, a former McCain aide, after chiding Dowd for claiming particular insight into McCain's soul.

"Well," responded Dowd, "that's even more disturbing than my thought" -- the implication being that it would be truly frightening if McCain didn't know how bad Palin truly was.

Time columnist Joe Klein summed up what seemed to be the panel's Palin consensus.

"It was a gimmick," he said of the pick. "It was one of the most disastrous decisions I have seen in a presidential campaign since I've begun covering them."

Later in the session, Hilary Rosen, the Huffington Post's Washington editor at large, noted that the Palin pick had been successful in energizing the Republican base -- and McCain himself. But Dowd wasn't biting.

"To me it is like Halloween," he said. "You get energized by eating all that candy at night but then you feel sick the next day.

I don't knopw Matthew Doud--never even heard of him.  But this is the most ridiculous analysis I've ever read.  Palin is a brilliant pick and perfectly competent to be Vice President or even President.  She's smart, witty, gutsy, abd principled.  I can't get over you Dems using every trick in the book to bring her and McCain down.  Palin was a rising star on the Republican horizon even before McCain picked her as VP.  If the MSM would give her half a fair shake, she would seem like a much better choice to many more people.  Thank God she's no Joe Biden.  Tell me why good ole Joe the Senator is getting such a free ride.

Reason Joe gets a free ride is because the MSM remembers what their MOMMY said; Don't pick on the hopeless, hapless, and dopey. ( I was never bothered Smile)

I wouldn't worry very much about Sarah now, she's already on her way down in the polls.

Joe SixPack/Plumber  is McCain's (and Sarah's) new gimmick now.

But now John McSixPacks new gimmick JOE THE PLUMBER  is starting to crumble.

Attributed to Mike Malloy:

"If you teach abstinence only in sex education, you get teen parents.
If you teach responsible, age-appropriate sex education, including the proper use of birth control, you are 'eroding the fiber of society'.

Black teen pregnancies? A 'crisis' in black America.
White teen pregnancies? A 'blessed event.'

If you grow up in Hawaii , you're 'exotic.'
Grow up in Alaska eating mooseburgers, you're the quintessential 'American story.'

Similarly, if you name your kid Barack you're 'unpatriotic.'
Name your kid Track, you're 'colorful.'

If you spend 3 years as a community organizer growing your organization from a staff of 1 to 13 and your budget from $70,000 to $400,000, then become the first black President of the Harvard Law Review, create a voter registration drive that registers 150,000 new African-American voters, spend 12 years as a Constitutional Law professor, then spend nearly 8 more years as a State Senator representing a district with over 750,000 people, becoming chairman of the state Senate's Health and Human Services committee, then spend nearly 4 years in the United States Senate representing a state of nearly 13 million people, sponsoring 131 bills and serving on the Foreign Affairs, Environment and Public Works and Veteran's Affairs committees , you are 'woefully inexperienced'.
If you spend 4 years on the city council and 6 years as the mayor of a town with less than 7,000 people, then spend 20 months as the governor of a state with 650,000 people, you've got the 'most executive experience' of anyone on either ticket, are the Commander in Chief of the Alaska military and are well qualified to lead the nation should you be called upon to do so because your state is the closest state to Russia.

If you are a Democratic male candidate who is popular with millions of people, you are an 'arrogant celebrity'.
If you are a popular Republican female candidate, you are 'energizing the base'.

If you manage a multi-million dollar nationwide campaign, you are an 'empty suit'. If you are a part-time mayor of a town of 7000 people, you are an 'experienced executive'.

If you go to a south side Chicago church, your beliefs are 'extremist'.
If you believe in creationism and don't believe global warming is man made, you are 'strongly principled'.

If you're a black single mother of 4 who waits for 22 hours after her water breaks to seek medical attention, you're 'an irresponsible parent', endangering the life of your unborn child, but if you're a white married mother who waits 22 hours, you're 'spunky'.

If you're a 13-year-old Chelsea Clinton, the right-wing press calls you 'First dog.' If you're a 17-year old pregnant unwed daughter of a Republican, the right-wing press calls you 'beautiful' and 'courageous. '

If you kill an endangered species, you're an excellent hunter.
If you have an abortion, you're not a Christian, you're a murderer (forget about if it happened while being date raped)."

George,  I guess every opinion depends on your perspedtive.  I don't like your world view and you evidently don't like mine.  I could respond point on point but what's the use.  I'll wait for the vote count on Nov. 4.  Pray that McCain-Palin wins but as always pray for God's will to be done.

By the way blogger, are you familiar with the United Way's Women's Initiative program in School District 3.  If I remember correctly that program uses abstinence-based programs and has worked effectively in the Starr-Iva area.

G-P,  I don't remember anyone calling Chelsea Clinton "First Dog."  Can you cite a source?

And CI  Did you stay at a Holiday Inn last night?

Whatever your beliefs, opinions, etc, please vote once and only once on November 4.

GeorgePap;  If I have 150k new registrations, and many registered 76 times, I wouldn't have 150k new voters.  Unless you're in Chicago.  Laughing

IMO some still don't like being reminded that abortion is taking a life.  Cry

Hank,

How many jobs are created when the rich CEOs leave or are fired and get their severence and  golden parachutes worth millions ?

Oh, and let’s not forget that McCain wants to give everyone, taxpayer or not, $2500 as part of his health insurance con job.

Drop ther whip, you're no Indiana Jones.

/\ he 'shooped' it all by himself I'll bet!

I believe Rush Limbaugh could be called 'right-wing press'
"Columnist Molly Ivins reported (Arizona Republic 10/17/93) this incident from Limbaugh's TV show--"Here is a Limbaugh joke: Everyone knows the Clintons have a cat. Socks is the White House cat. But did you know there is a White House dog?" And he puts up a picture of Chelsea Clinton. Chelsea Clinton was 13 years old."
