Lemme point out something Pappy.  Right now, not one single post within the past two hours has been "thumbs-downed"by anyone or against anyone.........wazzup with that???  Where's Hankey? Prevail? Cheese? The real haters of the blog users?   I don't know if I can stand going hours without my or others' posts being buried.  Someone....\/-down-me already and make me feel the love!

-wyatt1sc

In the entire time we've had the thumbs up/thumbs down mechanism I've only given perhaps 12 thumbs downs, all for personal attacks on other posters. It's useless unless you can give some kind of feedback to the poster on why you gave the negative rating. In the same vein, I don't look at what my posts have for ratings for the same reason....I have no idea what it means.

Dangit all Hank. With all the things we've argued and hassled about over the past two years, you actually said the one thing I'm so on board with you about!!!   As Wyatt ain't welcome to play on the Lefora site owned by Straight talkers, we should have some place WE can use for those here already.    Sunofa....   Ask forum-Daddy/JD if we have permissiojn to create our own special thread here ( somewhere.....)   so we can rant, open & honest, be as profane and (expletive-deleted)  to one another while venting constructively.  He ain't hearing much or listening to me right now :(   I said before we could put the disclaimer on the thread.

Wyatt Hank etc., etc., and all other bloggers, lurkers, and posters.  At the moment, I am simply trying to ascertain where the other three moderators would like to head.  I certainly don't intend to be the thought policel.  Like Pappy said just present your opinions in a civil manner.  I hope I am fair and balanced--I do watch FOXnews.  My only grip is how many rumors are posted as fact and the ungracious manner and style of some posters.  Right now I am very busy with Republican races for the General Election.  Also I do have a family that from time to time requires my attention.  I am trying to keep up with what is being posted but as usual it seems I am an hour late and a dollar short.  Also my tehno skills sometimes sink into that lovely sunset and I have to wait for the baby to come home and tell me what to do.

What about setting up a new NSFW category AND putting a shared password on it?
All would agree that just about anything goes (except for those nude photos of Teddy Kennedy) before entering.

The Password could be given to those with ten posts or more and mods could send via PM.

Mods...Does Lefora support such an option?

Mr. Hankey don't realy wan't to get into this today but.
Mr. Hankey is not looking for a form to drop the F-bom or to tell someone that he is going to kick them in the nadz.
some posters are not former writers or editors or provayers of peace.
Some posters just tell it like it is. sometimes that includes an FU or two.

Wyatt, I understand what you saying amnd its not a bad idea, but then would we have 2 seperate forms on about the same topics one rated G and one NC17? anyway thats not what Mr. Hankey was talking about when he said we need a chat room. Mr. Hankey thinks a chat room would open descution up faster and eliminate getting 5 emails about coments made on your thread only to find that the coment was "I like flowers to", or "ok tomarow I will try oat bran muffins". sure everyone has gone off topic and thats fine. but if chit-chat is what your looking for then a chat type area would be more productive.

Alfred the last thing Mr. Hankey needs is another pasword to remember. Mr. Hankey is sure our modorators realy don't need to be the keeper of the noughty room code.
Just let them deleate threats & personal attacks and way out of line valgarity. If they ever cross the line into the thought ploice then we can jump on them. (Mr. hankey for one can't wait)

I have no idea if Lefora supports that option or not, but if somebody has time on their hands, there's a link at the bottom of the screen that says "Create a Free Forum" where you can make a site that looks just like this one (and Tellit Anderson.)

Perhaps that new site could be accessed through this one with a link under "Check our Partner Sites" or "Quick Links" and everybody can be happy. Hey, I may even post a "Man from Nantucket" limerick myself once in awhile. Wink

Suggestions for possible title:

www.hankeysplaypen.lefora.net

www.wyattsfrakkinwebsite.lefora.net

www.anythinggoes.lefora.net

www.#$%$@.lefora.net

www.ifyouseekay.lefora.net

www.looselips.lefora.net

www.tedkennedynude.lefora.net

www.pairofemetics.lefora.net

That's enough to get you started. Have fun. Laughing

Hankey, I'm just trying to be helpful here. Innocent

No reason we can't all post on both sites. That way, you could have JD the Moderator on this one, and JD the #$%^#$ foul-mouthed #$%&#$@ over on the other one. Barney Jekyll here, Bubba Hyde over there. Embarassed

Hankey the Darned Yankee over here, Hankey the Damned Yankee over there.

Wyatt the ... hmmm ... Okay, maybe some of the bugs still need to be worked out, but it's a plan. Laughing

Wyatt, I dont think the "Straight-talkers" as you put it had anything to do with "the cocklebur" going down hill? I read here often but rarely post, did I miss something? Or do you just like to reference the downfall of ST often so that others start to argue about it AGAIN?

I really don't think the "cocklebur " has gone downhill. If it had Nick would not of handed it over to the moderators,he would of just deleted it as ST was. KR ,oops I mean clemson fan the downfall of ST is not hard to figure out, just look at the Aim site and see how many post were deleted from the people who use to post on ST. If I am not mistaken most of your post were also deleted. You guys started your own site,so why do you insist on coming over her and trying to start trouble? I know you must miss WyattLaughing

I hate to disagree with you angel1sc,but have you noticed the drop in the number of post being made since the moderators were appointed, and also notice who the few are that are still posting. Most are afraid to speak their mind bccause they would probably be banned if they disagree with management.

The drop comes from the fact that well . . . if you bookmarked this page as cocklebur.net and it changes to andersontalkzone.com . . . well, you'd think someone would have the common sense to setup a redirector until everyone could change their bookmarks, etc.

Web Design and Moderation 101, people . . . really.

Honkeydonkey, nobody is going to be banned by "management" because they disagree with management - unless, of course, their disagreement is over whether there will be moderation or not. There will be moderation.

Besides, nobody is any more afraid of moderation than they were of setting off your threats by responding to one of your posts. Get over it.

SSHM, as usual, is annoyingly right on the need for a re-direct. But I think the old Cocklebur site now belongs to Lefora and is being used to recruit new forum operators. That decision apparently is up to them, not us.
