Sorry if I hurt anyones feelings for not inviting them to Wyatts party.I did try to PM a couple of people and for some reason My PM will not go through.I was going to stop at GC and tell whoever was there that they could come over after, but I did not want any problems as I had some people who work for the county and Rino was also there. Which by the way if any of you meet him in person you would really like him. Again sorry if I hurt anyones feelings.
Happy 50th Birthday
What a sad commentary of the Cocklebur/AndersonTalks membership. After all that posturing, all those commitments and all the threats of asswhoopin's, not one person showed except the two of the dedicated bloggers who were stood up completely. Very unfortunate you two were not even considered for an e-mail ditching-out. Wyatt may not have, how was it put again, couth or Suthern manners. But surely would have contacted you to say I ain't showing ( actually we DID a week before). Guess my courteous Yankee manners trumps that rude rebel heritage stuff.
Sorry Ladies, you surely would have enjoyed our event instead of being stood up alone. Promise, next time y'all come!
Wyatt 1 SC,
Happy birthday!
Half a century of living is quite an achievement. And the best is yet to come.
Wyatt, we would have liked to have attended if anyone had let either of us know. One irony is that Noeline and I both dislike Golden Corral but agreed to attend due to wishes of the others. I have no idea what we did to be excluded. You can rest assured I personally will NEVER attend any function again. It was frankly embarassing to have asked for the room, had people say they were to attend, and then no one show. Let's be blunt - you hurt the feelings of two women who would not hurt any of you. IBV, you should have let me know.
I do not care about football games or other reasons. If I give you my word I will be somewhere, I will be there. It was simply rude to have done this.

Queen,
In all fairness, I reviewed the last few pages of the luncheon blog and counted over ten people saying that they were unable to attend.
Monday morning quarterbacking is easy, I know, but the date should have been rescheduled.
I'm truly sorry that you and Noeline were the only ones attending, and I agree those that didn't comment that they wouldn't attend after saying they would go were rude.
Queen, in all fairness, I checked the last couple pages and more than ten people did notify you that they would not attend.
That's not rudeness, that's manners.
Yeah Pappy and quite a few more at least insinuated they would be there or said they would be there. DO NOT TRY TO PUT THE BLAME FOR THE RUDENESS OF THE PEOPLE ON THIS FORUM ON TO EITHER QUEEN OR MYSELF.
I must agree with Noe on this count. With so many personally knowing one another here, a simple human phone call would have sufficed. I have at least 6 bloggers phone/info and several more's e-mail. Another flaw of the electronic age, lack of personal contact
(If I had your #, I'd call ya if I no-showed.).
I've been to the last two. As Mr. Meat Loaf sings, "Two outta three ain't bad.""I waaaannnnt you ... I neeeeeddd you .... but there ain't no way I'm ever gonna love you, now don't be sad ... 'cuz two outta three ain't bad."
Enough of that. Mrs. Tippett just fired a couple of warning shots and told me to stop singing. That'll teach me not to make hasty judgments based on what I can see by the dashboard light. I'm sure she was packin' back then ... but I have no idea where.
Anybody have a watch handy? How long 'til the end of time?
-jdtippett
I probably deserve to be put in the "rude" category sometimes, but as the above comment on the thread "Blog Lunch" that I posted on August 31 - almost five weeks before the Oct. 4 date - indicates, I told everybody a long time ago I wouldn't make it to the Oct. 4 luncheon, regardless of where it was held.
I checked. That was my last post on that particular thread, so nothing I said afterwards could have indicated otherwise to anybody.
I get myself in enough trouble here without being written off by the lovely and gracious Queen and Noeline for allegedly standing them up after making a date.
To the two ladies who were the only ones at the Golden Corral this past Saturday. A good friend of mine, and the person who talked me into joining this forum, wanted me to relay a message to you that he would have been at the Golden Corral, but after jdtippett called him a SOB, and Nick permanently banned him,he didn`t feel that he would be welcome, so he attended the surprise birthday party for Wyatt1sc. If you would like to meet with my friend "RINO",or send him a message just let me know. I can arrange it almost anytime, and he will probably buy your lunch,or dinner.
A friend of RINO, eh? Surprised YOU aint also banned by association!
Did someone ban wino?
rino?
Great idea, Honkeydonkey. If I wanted to meet him, will RINO be bringing you, Sexythang, Dadsgrl and a whole bunch of late-night thumbs downs to innocent posts with him, or will he be bringing only the one screen name?-jdtippett
Uh-ohhh, he knows the family!
Honky, if you are the stud that Rino is, we'll have to hold the women back from attacking you. Rino was just giving all you other men a chance. So to have a real crowd at a luncheon one of you two will have to be there. So where are we meeting? (I'm sorry only 2 people showed up, but I don't recall too many people saying they would be there.)
