Happy Birthday Wyatt! We're really glad you came. Happy Birthday Wyatt from the Cocklebur gang! We really are excited; we hope you use a coaster. Happy happy birthday to our favorite poster!

I'm singing like Ryans, but I couldn't rhyme with poster particularly well.

Wyatt made it thru his 50th birthday without a major meltdown, and a good time was had by all who took time out of their busy schedules to drop by his surprise birthday party to wish him a Happy Birthday. Thanks Angel for the invitation,my family and I really enjoyed the chance to get together and celebrate with your family, and all our friends and neighbors.

Guys & gals who attended,  THANKS for the surprise! Today is recovery mode, and gorging on goodies and cake.  Was great to see everyone there. Angel was more disappointed in the no-shows than I, but there was SO MUCH happening yesterday that I understood completely.   Angel wants to plan a HUGE get together for everyone ( yes, even those who don't like us much...) for either a Halloween social ( as Anmed isn't doing a Spooktackular this year) or an adults-only party( no Chippendales, sorry) or a New Years or super bowl party.  Yes, there would be booze. Yes, there would be adults talking adult stuff.  And yes, we would have a swell time!   So for those wanting to create a event for all, just send along your suggestions

H-D,

Yeah, I was even amazed that I didn't suffer some anxiety over being 1/2 century old!!!!  After you turn 21, they don't seem to hold much significance anymore. Man time flies when you don't keep tabs on it.  But I did get my AARP card yesterday, so now Denny's is 10% off a grand Slam.

Thanks also Blogger, Larry(a-venter)and the rest.  We MUST create a blog-claendar of everyone's b-days so we can  extend out cudos accordingly.  My old-timers just makes it hard to remember them all.

Hey, I see no mentions of yesterdays' luncheon. How'd it go? Or did anyone actually go?  Should have came over to the FOP with us instead. Besides the abundance of roast beef, ham, fresh veggie platters & fresh salads and homemade salsa, there was lots of beer, alcohol,  of course coolers of soda and two deee-licious cakes ( I'm working on finishing off the Triple Chocolate delight today....)  But the best part would have been the price.....FREE!!!

I thought rino was going to be there to meet and greet?

If anyone can/will schedule another one soon I don't have any weekend tied up except the weekend before the election. So if you can pick a date between now and them... I'm game!

But back to the main reason for the post... HAPPY BIRTHDAY WYATT!!!!! (Youngster!  Laughing)

Ladies, I wish you two  would have just came along with us at my par-tay. Sorry you wasted such a beautiful Saturday morning.  In fact Angel WAS going to come down before she set up the surprise party and invite anyone who came to join in with our soiree , but after the latest battles here knew nobody would be showing up. Nonetheless,  We had fun, it was relaxed and social. I love partying with cops.  Pretty much knew the future blog luncheons were going to tank since the last one at Tuckers. And with all the hostilities and animosities right here on this blog, it is no wonder nobody wants to show face. EVERYONE SEEMS TO HAVE CHOSEN SIDES AND WILL NOT MEET MIDDLE GROUND. I wouldn't expect or plan on much support for another one ( lunch) the rest of the year.  Too many possible excuses now like school events,Christmas parties, holiday bashes or football games.  Guess Blog lunches have gone the way of the Cocklebur itself;  death by intellectual suicide.

Some people just don't need a pat on the back for being such a good poster.

Nomad, Rino was with us other baddies at the birthday party.  (I've said I'd like to meet everyone, but would prefer a location other than Golden Corral.)

NR, did you go to the oyster roast?  It scared me when I first got there.  I thought I was at the wrong place.  Everyone had their hands raised; I thought they were praying.   I soon found out that was the signal for needing more oysters.  Hope everyone had a great weekend, whatever they did.

Wyatt, we would have liked to have attended if anyone had let either of us know.  One irony is that Noeline and I both dislike Golden Corral but agreed to attend due to wishes of the others.   I have no idea what we did to be excluded.  You can rest assured I personally will NEVER attend any function again.  It was frankly embarassing to have asked for the room, had people say they were to attend, and then no one show.  Let's be blunt - you hurt the feelings of two women who would not hurt any of you.  IBV, you should have let me know.

I do not care about football games or other reasons.  If I give you my word I will be somewhere, I will be there.  It was simply rude to have done this.

I had no idea there was a party either Queen. I would definitely have let you know. I wasn't invited either. I never had plans to attend the lunch this time though because my tutoring schedule is full.

Queen,  I agree with you.  But didn't you schedule this date and place after several of us said it didn't work for us?  I'm a newbie to this stuff and as I said I would like to meet everyone, so don't give up.  (I'm even very familiar with Thomas Bell.)

confused...

The Geek festival was great as usual!

I had a good time at the oyster roast. My arm was tired when I left. It was more for holding my arm up as opposed to shucking the oysters. But it was still a good time! I wish I could have seen you at the roast!

Having been to several, I think the Homebuilders Association has the best one!
