apparently, in Anderson all you have to do is DENY that you broke the law...then no one will push charges or investigate you
Au Contraire, mon frere! Trout admits to doing it and feels fully justified and that no law was broken because "the administrator is HIS employee". This is VERY VERY much like the situation in Anderson County......the end justifies the means. Never mind that the SC law explicitly states and the SC Sumpreme Court explicitly rules that the county administrator is not responsible the any individual only the Council as a whole. Fortunately for the residents of Greenville, the voters were smart enough to toss Trout in the recent election. Good riddence Tony Trout.
It would sure be nice if Anderson voters had been as smart as Greenville voters were. We would be rid of two council members!

Privy, is that another one of your "funnies"? Sorry, but your halo is slipping. It's the divison in this county that has wasted a LOT of money without anything being accomplished. The extremes that the 2 groups go to waste time and money. When we're all riding bicycles, struggling to put food on the table and living in a tent, how much importance will any of these issues have?

True, these issues wont seem that important under those conditions. I, for one, believe our country is falling fast and that very difficult times will soon be upon us. Depression, possible. Recession, likely. Prepare best we can.
A different style of council runs Greenville, and different levels of community support ATTEND those meetings. The folks here are interested in what Rick Driver is doing/saying , or who's fooling around at Cater lake, rather than the exponentially-rising budgets, failed roadways, poor management of political processes or how support for the citizens has failed. There is ongoing Ethics investigations for a certain Council member, and yet she is likely to end up RUNNING the council. Fox guarding the henhouse, and it's no wonder Anderson looks like a farse to business and corporations looking to relocate.

I am in full agreement with you! Confused, I think you have hit the nail on the head about the severe divison we have currently in Anderson County. I, though, like wyatt1sc, feel like a very unethical person could possibly take charge of our County Council come January. If this happens, and then the ethics investigation is finished and proves her to not be on the up and up - we citizens of Anderson County are going to have to suffer through more "economic development" embarassment.
I do want to wonder outloud, only as a thought, wouldn't it be interesting to see if MCW and Mr. Trout have compared notes since they each seem to be on the same page???? Just a question.

Trout seems to be a few cards short himself, and the similarities between the dealings with county personnel are from the same playbook.

Look at the last four posts to see why there is division within Anderson. Some folks will never pass up a chance to sink a knife in where they can.

I have re-read the previous 4 posts and see absolutely no knife was sunk anywhere. There were observations made but no underhanded nasty language used. The division, that you refer to, has alot more to do with people not agreeing with your and others views. I also operate on the premise my grandfather taught me: The wounded dog cries the loudest. Worth thinking about, huh?
The division I refer to is the rabid fanatics on both sides who never miss a chance to try and stick it to the "other side" whether it be with fact, rumor, or just plain speculation!

but there was no "other side" until cindi started bold faced lying in open session and ont eh radio, along with harvell and crowe and driver.. and no one in the local media stopped her..
