CHICAGO – Democratic presidential candidate Barack Obama said Saturday he didn't know that one of his relatives was living in the United States illegally and believes the appropriate laws should be followed.

The Associated Press found that Obama's aunt had been instructed to leave the country four years ago by an immigration judge who rejected her request for asylum from her native Kenya. The woman, Zeituni Onyango (zay-TUHN on-YANG-oh), is living in public housing in Boston and is the half-sister of Obama's late father.

A statement given to the AP by Obama's campaign said, "Senator Obama has no knowledge of her status but obviously believes that any and all appropriate laws be followed."

Onyango is part of Obama's large paternal family, with many related to him by blood whom he barely knows. Obama first met Onyango when he traveled to Africa as an adult — he referred to her as "Auntie Zeituni" in his memoir.

The campaign said he has seen her a few times since that meeting, beginning with a return trip to Kenya with his wife, Michelle, four years after the first trip. Onyango visited the family in Chicago on a tourist visa at Obama's invitation about nine years ago, the campaign said, stopping to visit friends on the East coast before returning to Kenya.

She attended Obama's swearing-in to the U.S. Senate in 2004, but campaign officials said Obama provided no assistance in getting her a tourist visa and doesn't know the details of her stay. The campaign said he last heard from her about two years ago when she called saying she was in Boston, but he did not see her there.

Onyango's refusal to leave the country would represent an administrative, noncriminal violation of immigration law, meaning such cases are handled outside the criminal court system. Estimates vary, but many experts believe there are more than 10 million such immigrants in the U.S.

According to Federal Election Commission documents filed by the Obama campaign, Onyango has contributed $260 to Obama over a period of time. Under federal election law, only U.S. citizens or green-card holders are legally permitted to give money to campaigns. Onyango, who listed her employer as the Boston Housing Authority, gave in small increments to the Obama campaign. Her latest contribution was $5 on Sept.

So tax dollars help pay her rent while she spends her money on Obama's run.

Nope G, if my fears come true you'd be stoned, beheaded, or drug into the streets and shot for even making an antigovernment post like that one. I can handle 4 dollars a gallon gas. I just don't drive as much. I can handle the healthcare system, I just try to stay healthy by proper diet and activity. I can handle bad schools, I'll make mine study at home and teach them by being involved in their lives at home and at school. I can handle taxes, I just don't eat out as much and set closer to a less than 89 inch plasma TV. Nope, I can handle everything that's going on in this great country right now. In the future....I just don't know.

A portion of the Obama vote will be the new, young, "I wanna look cool" vote. I'm telling you, some celebrity could say it was cool to wear a mop on your head and in two weeks the stores wouldn't be able to keep mops in stock. Then they will qoute things they have heard "M.C. Big Daddy Dumb AZZ" say about politics and act like this person who makes millions to sing, dance, act, wrestle, play ball, or just have rich parents has one stinking clue what the real world is about. They will blame Bush because of things he has no, or very little, control over because the coke head who runs with Tracy Mcsleezy said Bush is the blame. If I knew nothing about any of the candidates and could only ask one question to make my decision, it would be, who is Paris, Rosie, and the ones like them, voting for, and then I'd vote for the other.

I hear folks carry on about the economy while paying for their take out food. Gripe about gas prices while filling up to go for a Sunday drive, gripe about health care while smoking a marlboro and filling their oxygen tank. Gripe about unemployment while filling out an application for department manager with a GED and three nose rings. Gripe about inflation while buying a plasma flat panel, and gripe about lives lost in the war without ever sending a care package to the troops. Remember the "ask not what my country can do for me" days? Today while coming to work I stood in line behind a lady who was going on about the "mess we were in" while she counted out change to pay for a damn lotto scratch card, cigarettes, a Red Bull, and 3, yes 3, Little Debbie cakes. She was pushing 2 and a quarter easy. Get this, had on sweat pants, and bedroom shoes at 4:30 in the afternoon. I'll bet my paycheck who she's voting for. (And she was white by the way.)

I hear them talk about "Bush's war in Iraq" but can't tell you the difference between Desert Storm and Desert Shield. They can't tell you about Kuwait and the agreements Sadam signed on to, to allow him to keep his Army and power. They bitch about "wasted American lives, yet don't think of those who gave their lives in the first Gulf war. They go on and on about "lies about weapons of mass destruction" but can't tell you one single thing about the Kurds and Northern Iraq. I hear of how good Clinton did by folks who have no idea who Ahmad Shah Massoud is, nor what the "Northern Alliance" is. They go on about "not finding Osama" but don't know who Abd al-Karim el-Mejjati, Saud Humud al-Utaibi, Abdul-Rahman Mohammed Mohammed Yazji. Imad Mughniyeh, Qaed Salim Sinan al-Harethi, Abu Musab al-Zarqawi, and a long list of others are. Yes, even Hussein. (not the one running for president)
They speak of McCain's shortcomings while not looking closely at who Bill Ayers, Bernardine Dohrn, and Rashid Khalidi are. They speak of Obama's patriotism while ignoring the words of his very own wife, (for the first time I'm proud of my country) or his "spiritual advisor", (Not God bless America, God DAMN America).

So there we stand. A "telepolitician" that's young, different, flashy, and hip, voted for by a crowd who so wants to be different, flashy, and hip. Well, in my opinion, America is, and always has been, the greatest country on the planet. On a historical time clock, she is a young country, yet is a world power in many ways. She was originated, built, and maintained as a Christian nation, (YES I SAID IT) by wise, dedicated, sacrificing, and brave men. Not by flashy, hip men. She has stood proudly and weathered the worst of storms. She has liberated many, yet captured none. She has allowed me, an averaged intelligence, hard working, public high school educated, human, to live a life having most of what I want, more than I need, and most of all free. For that I will forever be grateful, and indebted. I don't ask what can my country do for me, I only want to do all I can for her.

Were 'THE MASONS' American terrorists too?

In the 1800's many folks believed that this was so.

Video;
#1: Confederate General Albert Pike.

#2: Morals and Dogma for the 21st Century.

#3: What Did Albert Pike Really Say?

Old news, Citizen1. Here's the modern headline:

Has 'global warming' raised 32nd-degree Masons to 35 degrees?

Come on, you might as well throw out "The Protocols of the Elders of Zion" for discussion if we're going to get into twisted history. Laughing

Was that a joke post JD?

If so, then you are the joke!

Sure, Citizen1, that was partly a "joke" post. Noting the title of this thread ("Political Funnies & Satire"), it seems to me that fits right in, just as yours do. Mine just aren't as hilarious as yours in the overall political context. Laughing

You refer to this topics title as your justification for your post whilst totally ignoring the subject at hand.

How convenient for you!

But I guess that's the way shallow republican thinkers are.

So what is the topic at hand, Citizen1? Whether the Masons a century and a half or two centuries ago wanted world domination? Great topic, I guess.

Never really gave it much thought. My father was a Mason, but I'm not because of that leaving the Baptist Church and joining the Catholic Church when I was 19 years old. I do know he risked his life in WWII fighting against a couple of fellas who DID want to dominate the world, and he later ranted a lot about a few others who were our "allies" during that war but later got their own ideas about world domination.

Ironic, I guess. The ones he was fighting against were Germans (Nazis) and Italians (Fascists) while the ones he least trusted were the French and the Russians (both allies.) Maybe he honed his instincts about who to fight, who to trust and who not to trust in one of those Masonic lodges?

I'm absolutely positive the man who earned a Bronze Star with a little "V" for "valor" on it would be a McCain supporter if he were alive today, and it would have nothing to do with Obama's race. Dad also had a few run-ins with the KKK in the 1950s and 1960s. He absolutely HATED that particular group - and I can assure you he hated very few people in his lifetime.

Anyway, it'd probably be difficult to do a poll leading up to Tuesday on just Masons, but my guess is McCain will carry that group by better than 90-10.  I don't know a lot about their rituals, even though I slipped around and read the super-secret book once and have been to several Masonic funerals, but I do know that most Masons believe in taking care of their own families, friends, fellow Masons and the truly needy in our great country (you'd probably be amazed to know how many Shriners are also Masons.) They certainly don't believe in cradle-to-grave socialism and "government as nanny" that we're about to get.

Now, Citizen1, I'll let you figure out which parts of this post I'm joking about and which parts I'm serious about.

(By the way, to me the big jokes are the Democrat seminar posters who want to accuse the Republicans of scare tactics, despite campaigning on such rhetoric as Republicans will take away Social Security, Republicans will starve your elderly parents to death, Republicans don't want you to have healthcare and Republicans will take away your civil rights. There's plenty of fear-mongering on both sides.)

"There's plenty of fear-mongering on both sides."

Obama consistantly speaks of  HOPE,  UNITY,  PEACE,  ETC..

While McBush consistently promotes  FEAR,   DIVISIVENESS,   WAR,   ETC..

Obama speaks with  'SINCERITY & INTELLIGENCE'.

While McBush speaks of  'PREJUDICE & NOTHINGNESS'.

Cool  Which of the above best suit your respectable daddy's demeanor?

Cit, no "party" has given me my opinions. My opinions partly come from actually living in a Muslim country and seeing first hand the customs and beliefs of real muslims, and not those who take it up just as a way to be "cool" and "with it", and celebrate ramadon with some pork spare ribs. I've stood in the very stadium where Taliban would stone women for adultry before the weekly buzkashi matches. I learned of Ahmad Shah Massoud, and the Northern Alliance. You know, the stuff not shown, nor talked about by our news. I have not spent the majority of my time logged onto "numerous forums from all over", getting my information. You are the one being spoon feed your opinions and "facts". I can't say for certain that Obama is muslim no more than you can say he isn't. I can't say he is the "inside mole" at the very top no more than you can prove he isn't. However for me, it's not something I feel is worth taking a risk on. I, you, nor 95 percent of the country know near enough about him to know without any doubt what could, or couldn't be going on behind the scenes. What I do know beyond any doubt what so ever is that this flashy dude who came out of nowhere has way to much he needs to be explaining.I know the "innocent until proven guilty" thing. However when you want to be the leader of the free world and most powerful country on the planet, you need prove your not a danger to that very country. Obama cries foul and dodges questions that were less intrusive than one's I was asked after EVERY airport I went through with an Afghan visa. He may be as pure as the driven snow, however before I'm ready to hand over the keys to the kingdom, he's gotta show me something.

Glad you put the "Obama voter " smiley face. You know, the blind but happy one. Now if he just had the tip can in his hand it would really be spot on.

Of course I believe, what you believe, what you have observed while serving overseas.

I have no doubts about that fc.

You were 'a stranger in a strange land'.

But the focus for you at that time, and NOW, was to kill or to be killed by those that were perceived to be terrorists and yet you still continue with your 'flashback memories' to share with everyone.

Certainly you must of known that 'those terrorists' represented 'a very small segment' of the total Muslim world.

Our dialogue reminds me of an ole sayin' ...

You know the thing is Citizen, I hope your right about all you posted. I hope 20 years from now my post look like those of a "crazy old bat", and yours look like those of a well read, sharp, politically in tuned individual. I truly, for the sake of my daughter, and others, hope and pray that your right and I'm the fool. Because if I'm not a fool, we all are about to see things that would turn our forefathers stomachs, and we all will pay in ways way worse than 4 dollar a gallon gas.

Why are you labeling yourself as a fool f-c?

None of this mess would of happened if not for dubya's deceptive decision to "SHOCK & AWE" the entire world and, of course, your personal world and everyones personal world.

Especially in the Mid-East!
