Knucklehead? I heard that the shooter became a Marine Drill Instructor, and the one who was killed by friendly fire graduated from Marine Officer Candidate School.
I know, Ed. I'd heard and told the joke myself, but that knucklehead in the video make it even more amusing. [image]-jdtippett
You are the the one who started this, by making fun of a couple of redneck good old boys ,who are highly respected by true southerners, as Marine`s must be to people who live in your part of the state. And as far as my joining my Dad in anything, with you or anybody else,I don`t need to. He has always been very capable of taking care of himself, and all the rest of us in the family.I feel I have the right to make fun of the Marine Corp, as I was one for six years, and have the discharge, and medals to prove it. Also please note for future reference that I have been threatened by a moderator of this forum for doing exactly the same thing he started.
Honkeydonkey, if you're deliberately trying to bring your Dad's war against me to this site, I can assure you your screen name will be banned. You last two posts are totally transparent to me. I'll not take the bait. I'll end the fishing trip.-jdtippett

No I don't think you have that "right". If you were a real Marine, with the esprit de corps real Marines are known for, you would not attempt to degrade your brothers in the profession of arms.
I don't suppose you would care to share what medals you recieved in your six years?? Having some other than the ones everyone gets (such as good conduct, national defense, unit citations, etc) would go a long way in support of your "proof." Besides, now days individual medals are such an easy thing to research. They made it easy to reasearch because it seemed BX Commandos were buying every ribbon in sight and awarding it to themselves! If you have them... prove it! I will admit I misjudged you. But if you don't have them, and did little more than take up space in the chow line for six years, maybe you need to tone it down.

I`ll be more than happy to show them to the moderators of this forum, being they are the ones who have the problem with me,and my jokes. And by the way I don`t have a fondness for the Marine Corp. They only use young men and get them killed at the whim of our elected politicians, and all for the mighty dollar. And as far as whether you misjudged me or not, does not concern me at all.

What a piss poor attitude! It is a wonder you survived bootcamp! I also am now wondering what kind of discharge you got.
The moderators did not ask you what kind of medals you received. I did. If you can't or will not name them while remaining behind a screen name, I don't hold out much hope for the moderators seeing them on your DD214.
I sincerely hope your life isn't as devoid of respect, integrity, and caring as you have shown the Corps. If so, you must be one sad individual.
I hope things get better for you.

Marines-Protecting the right to tell idiotic Marine jokes since 1775.
By the way, early happy birthday to all my brother and sister devildogs.
If you would like to come over to Hankey`s forum I would be more than willing to continue this exchange with you, but here I am at a disadvantage, and anything you want to see , I`m sure would mean a lot more if you saw it in person and up close wouldn`t it. And to end this, you`re opinion of me ,my military career,or my family does not concern me in the least, but I will assure you I do have an honorable discharge, and I didn`t sit behind a desk and play with a pencil, or typewriter like some others who brag on this forum about their time in the military. P.S. Take your SEMPER FI, and put it somewhere for safe keeping, I don`t need it or want anything to do with it.

Will you be more forthcoming with answers there or will you just feel free to to shout profanity and threaten in your postings. BTW why would you bring your family into our exchange? I didn't.-honkeydonkey
I don't see the need to carry this exchange any further. You are obviously not willing to answer my question. I think you have correctly assumed my opinion of you and your military career (based on your postings here). (Although I hardly think six years can be can be called a career in the military.)
So once again... I hope things get better for you. You miss too much of life when you are bitter.
To current and past members of the Corps SEMPER FI and Happy Birthday (November 10th)
And I see the Marine Brainwashing took a lot worse toll on you than it did me. I`ll bet you would evem be willing to die for foreign oil, wouldn`t you. Your elected official`s sure hope so. And the only reason I like Hankey`s forum better than here is there are no moderators to hold agains`t me what my Dad does, and posts. If you are as you say retired military you should hook up with my Dad over on Hankey`s forum, you two would probably have very little in common, and that would make for interesting entertainment. And by the way, my Dad is the one in the family who is the most vocal, but he doesn`t threaten he only issue`s invitations that no one seems to want to accept. He says real men don`t decline sincere invitations, especially when they come from the heart. By the way I think the dog in the left corner of your posts speaks volumes about the kind of man you are. I am willing to die for my country should it be necessary, because that is what those who serve in the military know may be their ultimate fate. I saw enough of your father's posting when he was allowed on here. I do not think we have anything in common. I still wonder why you keep bringing up your family. Can't you handle this exchange on your own? Your family has nothing to do with our discussion about your attitude on the Marine Corps. The dog in the corner is one of the dogs I have. It was a freebie that was given to me. Obviously you have not learned that it is not the size of the dog but the heart and tenacity of the bite that counts!-honkeydonkey

What I learned from my father, who tried to talk me out of going into the military, is he was right when he said that young men are sacrificed in all branches of service for someone to make money. I saw it with my own eyes just as he did. The only difference is he was called names and treated worse when he returned from overseas than I. My family is very close, my father is the leader, and everyone in the family has great respect for him and his judgement. I know that you and my dad wouldn`t have anything in common, but a meeting would be very interesting. If you don`t like my attitude, either live with it or change it. And finally the size of a dog,the heart, and the tenacity, sounds like a session in a Marine indoctrination class. I would rather believe that the size of a round, and type of weapon will determine the size hole, and how many are inflicted.Against my better judgement I will answer your post. I returned to the blog after being away and note that you seem to be angry at everyone. So add me to the list.
I take umbrage at your ridiculous claim that service people are sacrificed for someone to make money. Do you care to back up that claim with facts ?
I certainly can't believe that over a million Americans were killed or wounded in WWII just so someone could make money. Have you forgotten that Japan attacked us first at Pearl Harbor ? Have you forgotten that Hitler's thugs were out to exterminate the entire Jewish population ?
Pappy, I only know what I was taught in school about WW11, so I can`t comment on it. But my Dad, and three of his brothers were in Vietnam, and I have met some of their friends that served with them, and been told stories about some who didn`t make it back. The people who supplied all the Planes, Ships, Guns, Bodybags, and other assorted materials made a fortune. And in the end we gave it all away and came home with our tails between our legs. But we left thousands of young soldiers lives there for nothing except for someone to enjoy the millions that were made on the so called conflict. The same thing is going on at this minute, in Iraq, and Afghanistan. Even our new President- Elect said he will pull out after the loss of thousands of young lives there, and for what, not 9-11, if so we invaded the wrong country. This was,is,and always will be George Bush`s war to vindicate his Dad, and to line the pockets of his Oil Company friends. Rediculous, Loss of even one life to me is what`s rediculous. I will fight our enemies when someone comes here to fight, and we know who, and why we are fighting. Neither myself nor any member of our family can be labeled anything except Red-Blooded Americans, We have served even when we didn`t agree with the cause. But it`s time to put an end to wasting our young men either use what we have in our warbag and end it quick, and come home winners or stay at home, and quit making the rich richer on the backs of our young soldiers.

I'll side with HD with his summation of war for profit. For generations, the war machine HAS indeed profitted off the blood of innocents and poor. And exactly how many sons & daughters of congressmen, senators, defense contractors or presidents can YOU quote as serving now or before? Maybe 10 tops. How many enlisted are fighting a war in an oil-rich country where NOT one WMD was ever found, not ONE single bio-weapon uncovered, and the only terrorist recovered was the President of Iraq. If there is not a pseudo-war, who do you expect the war-mongers, defense contractors and idiots running the CIA to sell bullets, guns, missiles and planes to??? There IS a shelf life on bombs too, and the use-em-or-lose-em philosophy means they lost $$$ by not killing anyone. But jeez, those gun-ship camera shots do look sweet when they blow the &%$@ out of a building full of women, kids and cowering men.
Your comparison of WWI and WWII do NOT compare with Korea, Vietnam, Gulf warI or the current bullsh*t war for $$$$$. different ideals behind THOSE wars, and far better leaders behind the world's freedoms. But hold on to your pantiliners folks, we ain't done YET. Part eleventy-seven is about to begin in Iran, Afghanistan, Western Poland, South Korea, Eastern China, Southern Georgia and whereever else we have no right to be. As the song goes: Money-money-money-money-money....MONEEEEE!
This reminds me of something and the point is strictly dealing with the WMDs...
Admittedly we havent found any and that's fishy in the sense that we know Saddam had them...
We know he HAD them because we know he USED them against some Kurdish villages and that death toll has been estimated at the extreme upper limit of about 7000. This is a fact that can be found easily but for some odd reason isn't part of the mainstream knowledge base.
True it was really just primitive chemical weapons he used but the point is that no WMDs have turned up. Not Mustard, Not Bios, Not Nukes, not nothing...
Did he use everything he had be the late 80's or early 90's? And never develop any more?
Seems odd...
Zero is such an absolute number and the total lack of anything is a hard concept considering the past of that particular regime...
Anyway, just food for thought....

George Bush believes that if you say the same thing over, and over and over again the Happy Truth Fairy will appear and sprinkle magic dust on it and it will become TRUE.
"For now, we have a new president-elect. In the spirit of reaching across the aisle, we owe it to the Democrats to show their president the exact same kind of respect and loyalty that they have shown our recent Republican president."
