Well, I noticed that there were new poll workers (volunteers) and many of them (the newer ones) were young people.

That is encouraging. Perhaps it depends on the precinct. My wife is working the Centerville B precinct and there are 10 workers. Nine old timers and one young high schooler. She was the welcomer at the door, passing out literature.

I got back from Cvlle B, (said hi to Mrs. Pappy)... Took an hour and a half. Couldn't figure out why Cvll A had 8 machines and fewer people, Cvll B had seven machines and a line snaking out the door.
And whats up with the politicians hanging at the door?
Kevin "Bullshit" Bryant was waddling around with a big ole ELECT ME sticker on his shirt. I thought the partisanship was to stop 200 feet away?

THANKS A MILLION TO ALL THE POLL WORKERS.

papa,

The regs regarding a candidate at the polls are rather lenient. Cadidates can greet voters and solicit votes outside within the 200 foot limit ( that is for signs and literature ). He can not be disruptive nor cause complaints. He can wear a badge ( limit 4" x 4" ). It should only have his name and office sought.

Inside he must remove any badges, he can greet voters in line but not campaign.

Hope Mrs. Pappy was behaving.

Mr. Meaders father greeted me at the door asking me to vote for his son, and I was under the same impression as g, thanks for the clarification Pappy. by the way I was at the polling place for a little over 2 and half hours to vote.
Too bad those kinds of numbers are not out every election.

What I found interesting was Mr Holder was at the door with a woman in front of him asking for your vote, Mr Ortiz was going around the gym introducing himself and shaking hands and those 2 were ok.  Yet they came in the gym and asked for someone with a "vote for Ron Paul" sticker on his vehicle to move it more than 200 ft from the bldg.  I understand that's ok, but it doesn't make sense to me.

And shows that the poll watchers were not doing their job. File formal complaint however, it will be for nothing because they will both loose.

I've been trying to figure out since Tuesday how Republicans lost so many voters in the State of North Carolina since the 2004 elections. Then I found this video, which I think may at least partly explain it:

JD;  I read some years back that the funniest joke in the world was just what is on that clip.  Seems some group, told jokes to folks all over the world, but by and large the one that amused the most people was the one in the video.  I've told the joke 100 times, but the video makes it even funnier.  Thanks for a good belly laugh.  After the election, I needed that....

I know, Ed. I'd heard and told the joke myself, but that knucklehead in the video make it even more amusing. Laughing
