Oh, RINO, I wouldn't worry about anybody taking a JDTippett joke seriously, or one from IBVirginia. It's obvious when were just kiddin' around.

MY fear is that somebody here will take YOU seriously. That would be tragic.

WARNING: The contents of this tank include ETHANOL, which is known to be toxic to bull elephants. Bull elephants should not consume ETHANOL, nor should anyone who has recently seen a bull elephant (especially a pink one.)

There ya go, RINO. Fixed it.

By the way, that guy from "Lost in Space" whose picture W-P-D just posted could have  used a good dose of ethanol to calm his nerves.. Wink

Sometimes in the mornings I would swear that vodka could kill a bull elephant.

Well, RINO, I guess this just ain't your day.

And, yes, Virginia, you have to be careful offering alcoholic beverages to bull elephants. They're particularly fond of "peanut coladas." Laughing

I don`t know about Vodka,or Peanut Colada`s, as I don`t use alcohol, I saw what it did to families, and weak people who needed a crutch, when I was just a young tyke. But if you ever have need of an elephant gun, I can hook you up.Works on just about any color elephant too.even yellow ones! And by the way JD,you have made my day complete.

Nice try again . . .It's not the road that is being closed - it is the crossing. The road remains open on both sides, just the grade crossing is closed.- SSHM

-sshm

Oh, so if I cut my garden hose in half while mowing the grass, it isn't ruined? I just have two hoses now? If the crossing is closed the road becomes to cul de sacs, and emergency response vehicles as well as school buses have to go all the way around to cover the fifteen feet of crossing that will be closed.
And if you don't understand the difference between ethanol and petroleum based fuels, then you're missing one of the major points of the debate, which is that ethanol vaporizes in the event of a spill and cannot be contained by a levee around the storge facility. That's assuming one would be built once the facility is actually constructed.
Also, this company began offloading and storing fuel before they ever applied for the necessary DHEC permits, and are storing this fuel in facilities not desgined for it. The people in the area feel that they have been misled and that the railroad, the energy company, the county and sometimes agent of all three,Amy Plummer, has lied to them they aren't happy about it and they show no signs of going quietly into the good night.
Lincoln Energy has ethanol facilites elsewhere in the state and there are questions about those operations as well. DHEC, for its part, admits that it has been caught off guard by the sudden surge in the demand for ethanol and the resulting expansion of such facilities in SC. They also admit they don't have the necessary regulations in place beause they don't know yet what those regulations might be.
Heaven forbid we slow down a minute and make sure we can keep these citizens safe to a reasonable expectation, rahter than put an entire community at risk over five damn jobs!?

If we could all predict the future, am sure we'd build our homes where the values WOULD increase, where crime would never occur, traffic is unheard of and schools would be built ...Duhhhh!
