Unfortunately I'm afraid that may be true.  A lame duck session is upon us, with little support or backing from future candidates.  Our olive branch extended to District 5 council-elect Tom Dunn has gone mostly unreturned and unresponded to.  Unfortunate indeed.

And our County Council is our County Council until January too,but most people don`t want them to do anything,or make any decisions, until the new council takes over in January. What is the big difference? Maybe Sheriff Crenshaw is just trying to make it to January without getting anything else blamed on him, until the new Sheriff takes over.

The big difference is that County Council isn't charged with keeping us safe in our homes and on the streets.Nobody in the county will die from lack of goivernment in the next three months. Probably the contrary. Crenshaw is charged with keeping us safe, and the way the department is shrinking, if he has to drive his big Suburban around on patrol, hey, that's what an oath means. Ifhe wants a do nothing job, let him run for Council next time. Maybe by then he'll know what a budget is.

You mean the kind of olive branch that turned RonWilson around, even before he took office? That made McAbee and Thompson Joey drones? Good for you, Mr. Dunn. Good for you.
It's interesting to see the effort to influence unseated officials acknowledged wyatt. Interesting indeed.

wyatt, I agree with you about Creed Hashe, and I think Capt. Gary Bryant did a good job at the jail. But Jeff Black? 'Crash' Black? Come on! He was about one step behind Busha as a walking eff up.Thank god the ACSO didn't have motorcycle cops. They'd have probably made Jeff the training officer.

You need somebody to keep you safe POO-bob Why don`t you try being a man, and protecting your own family.I raised three kids, who by the way turned out just fine, and never needed the help of any law enforcement office to do the job.I figured they had more important business, than to run interference for my family,I provided all the protection they required. And at no cost to the taxpayers.

The only interesting thing is the amount of time these newly elected official`s are spending with the Rick is Wrong Gang, and the Tax Association that doesn`t have any members. But you are right in that it is hard to influence someone who thinks they are above bending over, To pick up trash in our fair city

Now that all the arrested bad boys are safely tucked away in the County Jail, awaiting trial, for all the robberies, and shootings,I think we all know where Sheriff Crenshaw, and all of his law enforcement officers were while every one was trashing him,and them for not doing their jobs.Job well done,Sheriff, you and your men,Walk TALL,in my eyes.

No political stuff involved here.   Since David Crenshaw was in office, it seemed that the officers patrolling our rural area, at least, knew where the streets, roads, and rural areas, were located.  I do really hope this continues.

It is a problem for those of us out in the boonies, if a newbie who has NO idea where a road is located, takes an extra 15 or 20 minutes to find us.

I think even Plum and Rino will agree to that!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Well I for one must say I have dealt with sheriff Crenshaw many times.Whenever I have had a question or concern I call his office and if he is out he calls me back the same day. All I can say is if you have a problem instead of moaning and groaning pick up the phone and call or better yet get off your lazy butt and do something about it. I am so sick of hearing all the whiners who think everyone else is going to solve their problems.
By the way I was asked to set up a town hall style meeting between John Skipper & Dennis Gough (for those of you who dont know) Both are running for sheriff on November. The meeting will be on October 2,2008 @ 6:00 pm @ the Homeland Park Fire Department. There will be NO scripted questions, all questions will come from voters. So if you really care about who are next sheriff is,I suggest you attend...

You don't pay attention to the news. Only Honea Path and Anderson City have filled charges on the bad boy ROBBERS. No one from the Sheriffs office has made any arrest

Oh I think that's a bit premature to say "you probably won't get any support" about the incoming CC. They will also support keeping Anderson a safer place than it is. Skipper will make a good leader.

Let's see what the Johnson-Broadview Estates Community Org. brings up. There are enough people doing research. Paperwork takes time to get from FIOA's. I think you'll see support for cleaning up the murky financial transactions that have gone one. Funny that a failure to feel proper reporting has gone on is turning many of us into investigations novices and some former journalists back into them <g>.

OOOOH, would you please protect me, Mr. Rino? You're so big and brave. Well, one out of two isn't so bad. What a blowhard you are. Six months ago, you asked me what kind of gun you should buy your daughter for her protection. Gasbag! As far as being a man, your wife had no complaints.Sorry, everybody. sometimes I have trouble leaving straight lines unpunched.

In all seriousness, David King does a very fine job with the Honea Path Police Department, and so do his officers.  I have been very impressed with all of them.  We are fortunate to have these officers in our area.

You do know that had it not been for the arrest of the shooter in Honea Path case (by the Honea Path Police Department, along with Anderson City)...ACSO would still have no one in jail...This rash of gang related robberies was solved with DNA by little ole Honea Path PD and the suspect arrested because of the top notch investigation by Chief King and his department lead to the arrest of the others.

Great work Chief King.

whattheheck

Being retired law enforcement and knowing how the system work (No involvement in todays system) I can promise you that all departments were involved in trying to solve this and other cases.

It was stated that evidence collected was sent to sled. Some smaller departments collect their own evidence, prints, blood, pictures, interviews, but some one has to process that evidence.

Please stop trying to make it sound as if one department did it all, I promise you they did not. When someone is on a roll getting information you work with them and not against them.
Unless you have information where one department refused to cooperate with another.

We should all say congratulations to the HP police for solving their case that led to the capture of all 7 if not more of the suspects.

You sheriff was not sleeping while this was happening, and neither was his deputies/investigators. He may be out is Jan. But he's still our Sheriff until.
