Armed robbery after armed robbery, with each one becoming more violent, until the last time, a clerk at a convenience store was shot 3 times. Where was the Sheriff's department while David King, Honea Path police chief, with a department of what? six officers managed to investigate and apprehend a suspect who quickly gave up his accomplice.
For that matter, when was the last time anyone saw David Crenshaw? Does he even come to work anymore? Chief Deputy Creed Hashe tried for awhile to keep the department engaged and active, but with no help from Bubba in finding a new job, he had to fend for himself. the good news for him is he managed to turn a part time position with a large foreign based but locally situated industry into a full time position.Corporate security is a pretty lucrative gig and Creed does look spiffy in a blazer.
But Crenshaw should remember he ran for a full term and he owes us a full term.
Thank goodness King was on the job because by all reports, Crenshaw is not.
where is/was the sheriff?
When a crew deserts a Ship`s Captain, why should the Captain care whether or not the ship the crew is riding in, is going in the right direction or not? The same applies, with a County, and a deserted Sheriff.Just be willing to steer your own course until the new Captain takes control in January.Real life is tough, and an`t very fair is it?

Gee, I don't know Rino, maybe an oath of office might still bein play? Even for you, that's a pretty dumb post.He was deserted, as you put it, because he hired a bunch of incompetent, crooked friends and then protected them as they screwed up time after time. He also was stupid enough to let Tim Busha run the department until Tim effed it up so many times even David couldn't stand it.He couldn't keep track of his own driver's license and flunked the test when he did get around to taking it. He and Roy Stuart dumped the department's boat on a ramp trying to back it in the lake. Shall I go on? He also got tied down in a little fiasco called Catergate, which I expect still keeps him awake at night. Add to that his budget bungling and the amazing thing is that he didn't lose by twenty points.
But he did take an oath of office and that he should be held to, whether you think so or not.

You may just be the person we need to go to Camson Rd. and demand to see your sheriff. I think you could get him to listen to what is required of him until Dec. 31.
ever heard of the captain goes down with the ship? holy shit. what is the point of being the captain of the ship if you are the one who is freakin out? chain of command? it does not matter what the crew thinks of the captain you friggin ahole. it's what the captain thinks of his men. what a dickweed.
Little man, with the big mouth, you talk like everyone who thinks different from you is a fool, well I still say you are a coward, and a sissy. And I could care less what you think,or know, take it all and stick it where the sun don`t shine.David Crenshaw is my friend, and I don`t care who knows it.You on the other hand would probably turn on a friend, if you had any.

For your information,I have already been to see Sheriff Crenshaw, but not for the reason you wanted. I told him if I was him,I would just turn everything over to the next in line and enjoy the next few months, since nobody cared that he tried to make Anderson a better place to live.Even after the Cindy,Bob,Dan,and Rick crowd threw him under the train becouse he turned Catergate over to SLED,instead of trying to railroad Joey Preston on a set-up, by the Anti-Preston gang. Will Anderson be a better place after January, lets wait and see.Someone will have to admit to being wrong, but the question is who,Me,or You?

I hope you don`t consider your self a lady, because I have seen very few drunk sailors who had a dirtier mouth than you.I could imagine what any Captain, would think of a sailor like you.You would probably be keel hauled at sun-up.And for all the names you so graciously bestowed on me,don`t you think they would have a bigger effect if you delivered them in person.Or are you like the little sissy who likes to hide behind his computer, and call people names?

Im not able to answer for David Crenshaws whereabouts or how he feels about not being re-elected but.. I doubt very seriously that he doesnt care about the safety of Anderson. No one deserted David Crenshaw. The voters who supported him all went out to vote but you have to remember that Skipper walked holes in his shoes campaigning for this position. Skipper reached alot of people. I was not a supporter of Skipper during the election but anyone can admit that he ran a good campaign. David Crenshaws entire career as a judge and as sheriff has been about improving the safety of Anderson County so I seriously doubt that he has just "jumped ship" to let Anderson run on auto-pilot out of spite because he didnt get re-elected. Being a friend of his, you should know, thats not the kind of person he is.
What happened to the Sheriffs DRUG SQUAD that was number ONE in the nation since the June Primary? They were jerking up everyone before the election. Are they still there? These robbery gangs in Anderson County are becoming a serious problem which requires serious, aggressive law enforcement. You can't sit at the L@zY Isl@@der and expect your department to respect you and do their best for you.
Rino, perhaps you could manage your irrational anger long enough to re-read the post above and tell me where I called you any names, unless of course, you are one of the incompetent, crooked friends he hired? And I find it laughable, as I do most of the things you say, that you accuse me of hiding behind a computer. I'm sorry, isn't the use of a computer pretty much central to this whole blogging concept?Isn't that exactly what you are doing? And if you're such good friends with David, next time you see him you might ask him if he's still cashing his paycheck, because he sure as hell isn't earning it.Little man, with the big mouth, you talk like everyone who thinks different from you is a fool, well I still say you are a coward, and a sissy. And I could care less what you think,or know, take it all and stick it where the sun don`t shine.David Crenshaw is my friend, and I don`t care who knows it.You on the other hand would probably turn on a friend, if you had any.

clemsonfan, I'd just like to point out to you that my issues with David on this are professional and not personal. I like David and think it's a shame that he was unable to manage his department without the help of a slug like Tim Busha. But the fact is the buck stops at the top of the chain of command. But this is not a personal attack on David, no matter what some might think.
Probably the same thing that happened to the check court idea that Chrissy Adams suddenly fell in love with right after Sarah Drawdy brought it up during the campaign. But you are right, marshalldillon, serious crime is skyrocketing in this county, with burglary and armed robbery and assualt and even more serious crimes on the rise. And gangs are here, and here in a big way. Meth and crack are increasing in use, like they are everywhere else, and small town dpeartments are bearing much of the burden.
The deputies on the roads are working their asses off, because there are so few of them.Lousy morale and worse management ran them off from the ACSO by the droves. But those still on the job are doing their jobs, and they deserve for their boss to do the same.
Rino, I'm sorry if an oath of office means nothing to you, but it does to most of us. He's still taking that eight grand a month, and he should be earning it, even if it means he gets out and patrols some.
I disagree with you saying that Sheriff Crenshaw, should be out patroling,he was elected to hire, fire, and make the command decisions of the daily management of the County Law Enforcement Center. And I don`t think he has changed his thinking,or work ethic, since the primaries either. But what I did say was if he was a smart man he wouldn`t let the election bother him,and just sit back and take a much needed and deserved rest until January. And I too have nothing agains`t John Skipper, but lets wait until after he takes office and see just which way he leans, and if we have any less drug, and gang activity in Anderson County.

And our County Council is our County Council until January too,but most people don`t want them to do anything,or make any decisions, until the new council takes over in January. What is the big difference? Maybe Sheriff Crenshaw is just trying to make it to January without getting anything else blamed on him, until the new Sheriff takes over.
I think Crenshaw is displaying once again the quality of his judgement. It is strange that up until the Primary there was almost a bust of some kind by the Sheriff's department, and since then they have become few and far between. Of course his judgement (Tim Busha, a siezed motorcycle that was evidence evidence wrecked by one of his senior people, his backing of Busha on the Catorgate "sting", his budget woes, his "more with less" claims, etc.) was what got hime voted out. However, he did take an oath and he is the Sheriff until January.-nomadron
I would like to see our Sheriff out on patrols once in a while....... I'll share a tidbit from this past weekend.
During our Clean-up in Homeland park, Mr. Skipper showed up on his own accord, to assist. He wasn't wearing a suit & tie, but khaki's and polo shirt. He willingly jumped right into the muck, dragging out discarded tires and picking up a crack pipe during the route. I found that idea of a Sheriff ( candidate I may add) willing to jump into the simplest of tasks arm in arm with citizens showed me a refreshing sort of law enforcement. He also spend time talking to others about issues and proposed responses, a walking-session of sorts.
Talk about community involvement!
Wyatt,I can just about guarantee that you probably won`t get any support from the new councilmen,or most of the old ones either.
But allow me to acknowledge the efforts of Dave Crenshaw and some of the finest Lawmen we've ever dealt with ( Chad McBride, Creed Hashe, Jeff Black, Mark Gregory among others ) who've made every effort to act upon our concerns and provide support when they can. I am hopeful this work will continue AFTER January...surely we won't have the same support from our new councilman.-wyatt1sc
