Ballons, Rumors, and Lies...

Queen, while it is surprising to think of Joey as a farmer, he obviously knows that you have to prepare the soil before sowing the seeds. He and his propaganda department havebeen busily engaged in spreading lies and rumors about the incoming Council members,just as they and this newspaper, have been running story after story and quote after quote from and about the great man.
At the same time, he is putting on the full court press, both wooing the new members and looking for any soft spots they may have that he can exploit. anyone who thinks Joey Preston is going to willingly get off the gravy train that is Anderson County should think again.Eddie Moore is being wined anddined at the same time that his motives are being questioned and his future actions being predicted. Joey might get farther if he chose one approach or the other, but it worked for him in the past so I guess he figures he'll stick with it.
A couple of weeks ago Moore agreed to meet someone for lunch at a restaurant our in the country and when he arrived, who was sitting there too but old Marshall Carithers, realtor to the stars!! Word is he chewed Eddie's ear a lot more than he chewed his food. But Eddie Moore will be his own man, and so will Tom Allen and Tommy Dunn.In fact, from what I've heard, they find a lot of Joey's tactics amusing, if not downright insulting.
But that won't keep Joey from trying. He's got no choice.

Not that we expected anything different. Maybe the county can use his farm to take in the Sheriff's animals, the soil can't get any more diseased than it all ready is. Let's hope none of these new members have kids that need jobs. LOL That and the SCV meeting did Ron Wilson in.

If they are their "own men" why have they shined up to the WAIM taxpayers hate
crowd ? I've heard them on the radio playing up to that bunch. I guess that is ok with you - that's YOUR audience! We can only hope that your prediction is corrent. If so, once in office, they will learn the truth, as did Ron Wilson, Michael Thompson, and Bill McAbee. The problem is "you can't handle the truth."

Republikin, are you cyber stalking me? You don't show up for days and as soon as I post something you jump in with your cute little dumbbob play on words. But really, the two posts that were hidden are not offensive or obscene. This is the problem with this format. Those two posts are well within reasonable bounds. If Republikin feels the need to exercise her fourth grade sense of humor, let her. Anyone who can't take that little bit of heat, if you can call it that, should stay off the blog. I certainly can and I hereby belatedly cast a thumbs up for both the posts that were hidden.

Republikin, I see you finally found your way back home from Cheddar. Boy, those folks are pissed about that road closing aren't they? Itwould probably havehelped ease things if AmyPlummer had better people skills, instead of threatening fire chiefs with investigations, and trying to intimidate people who are simply concerned about their homes and community instead of some realtor's commission. Maybe you could mention that to AIMee next time you see her?

janedoe, I think you are right. I think the three new councilmen will have fresh ideas. I also think some of those ideas will involve the level of courtesy and respect to be shown to elected officials by paid help. That alone would be a remarkable change in Anderson county politics. I know for a fact that many county employees found it demeaning to be required to obtain information and perform tasks for political appointees of some of the Council members. A number of them told me they were glad to see those Council members defeated because they abused the system so frequently. so as Obama and McCain like to say, change is coming!

Amy, you know as well as anyone that a county employee in this county is at constant and significant risk of losing their job if they get caught crossing the party line. That is in fact a real problem in gathering documentation of misdeeds and other acts by members of the administration. It is an intimidation card that is played frequently and effectively. But it doesn't make the things they say in private untrue. You also know as well as anyone who many of those employees were talking about, because as you say, you know many,many county employees. They were particularly upset at a business associate of a certain councilman who often invoked his name in demanding cooperation from them.
You yourself also are prone to make unprovable allegations, such as some you made to me two years ago about some services you were asked to arrange for a visiting dignitary.That was back when you were trying to either recruit or co-opt me, whichever came first. Do you remember that conversation, or was the vodka working already? A clumsy game clumsily played.
Sometimes, Amy,I think you get too far down fantasy lane and can't remember things you've said or done in the past. That's a dangerous condition for someone as dedicated to chicanery as you and your friends.
