Thanks for the nod there virgina. I will serve if requested.

Not sure if I have said it in another post or not, but I believe once established, moderators will not be noticed.

Point of fact:

AIM tried and failed miserably at selecting and implimenting a "moderation board"  with the Straight Talk. The selectees, all personally knowing one another ( or as alluded to above, being a whisper in Nick's ear...)  and having a pre-determined BIAS against those who did not go along with the flow, agree with "the Six" without dissent, or keep their outsiders' opinions to themselves, that many posters besides WYATT made it known to AIM what was the real deal.  As HANKEY so often points out, I ain't well received. Too bad, so sad for him.  He ain't my mammy and my likelihood of giving a rats tail about how he feels about me or the work we do means as much as a stranded GOP'r on exile island.  But because I am vocal, outspoken and NOT part of the status quo, by arbitrary segregation I would invariably be given the axe because I AIN'T gonna go quietly into that dark night.

So by the by, how well did that Straight Talk moderation plan go?  Class.....class......Bueller.....BUELLER????

No offense Wyatt, but I'd seen the Straight Talk board several times, and I can't believe they found hardly anyone reasonable enough there to moderate.

Y'know, I read the Straight Talk piece in the paper every day, and each time I read it I can't help but think of Emily Litella. I'd love to hear the ones they don't print. Surprised

I loved Gilda Radner! She and Gene Wilder were one of my favorite couples ever.

Sorry, JW, but from what I've seen here lately, how does it differ from ST?  Even when topics are being discussed, it's mostly sharp criticism and not sharing of opinions, like your comment.  (You should have removed the hardly from the second sentence and your grammar would have been better.)  I have been trying to play nice, but I get tired of some of the mighty ones attitudes, sorry.  (Gilda was great.)

Confused,
Right or wrong, I've attempted to propose a solution to our growing problems here. Are you just going to criticize me and my grammar, or do you have something constructive to add? If I'm wrong, fine, what's your plan?

JW, how did your statements(about ST) that I commented on have anything to do with proposing a solution?  Go back and read what you wrote?  Your comment was critical, and so was mine.  Guess none of us are perfect; that's why a monitoring system tends to not work.  BTW, as I told you before-- toughen up, girl,  you're too defensive,  BTW,  I don't take any of this stuff seriously, so I find the bickering amusing.  I sure hope this forum isn't here to solve the world's problems.

IBVA  That's the line T. Boone Pickens uses about his energy plan.  And you're right.  Criticize my plan but you need to have own of your own.

MM, are we now going to have a tag team?  You and I have already agreed to disagree.  I'm not genteel and  not into tea parties, so I highly recommend you go back to your meeting.

Confused,
This entire thread (Law and Order) is about finding a solution. Wyatt said that this wouldn't work because it didn't work there. Well, this group of people is very different from that one. I am glad that Wyatt eventually became a part of this one instead. Wyatt and Angel are two of my heros for their kitty work, but that is beside the point. That is why I prefaced my comment with "no offense" and used the word "hardly." I was trying not to be too harsh but still make the point that the Straight Talk forum was more of a mess than we are...yet.

I'm not supposed to be offended when you say I have the attitude of a "mighty one?" I've never tried to be anything high and mighty. I just hate to see the Cocklebur go the way of ST, and it seem that unless something changes, that is inevitable.

You're right, if this forum is meant to solve the world's problems, we are all in a lot of trouble. ;)

ibvirginia don't get baited.

Confused I have been a member here since almost the day of conception. I was a member of ST, hated to see it go away.

In reference to this solving the worlds problems, not going to happen, but if in it's life it can help Anderson County or a citizen of Anderson County in any way then it's worth it, LOL Kinda like seat belts, nobody wanted them nobody likes them, but they are required, Now bunches of people would be without em.

Do I spell perfect? No way, doI have good typing skills? No way--- Grammer? Nope. But it's still communication. Please join in and enjoy.

I am afraid if your looking for the perfect place, you may need to go to youtube.Wink

Well can I chime in and say I too have been a "member" for awhile?  Ohhh-Ohhho-oooh!{flailing hands and all}  Is THAT the criteria for being included, longevity?  Length of posts?  I'm not that long-winded. Or AMOUNT of posts?  I don't have that kind of free time.  Damn, all things concidered,  there's quite a few who'll not be allowed to participate or monitor this madhouse.

Straight Talk WAS  an interesting forum, and there were a few regulars who added much thought and intelligence to it. That is until a thought was shared with those who RULED the damn joint.  I can in fact recite the exact thought that triggered "the Six"  to begin an endless tirade and personal attacks.  The word--------MySpace.  After months of bulls**t, posting of personal data and even stalking of our minor child at her school, it became just another forum full of crazies.  Conversations both via e-mail and in person with Nick & Butch and still this didn't resolve. Speaking with Law Enforcement and showing the exact copy/paste posts ( what a handy device the right-click is!) ended up being placed back into the privy of "free speech" and the AIM's board to control.  Suggestions of boards, monitors and "voting"  ended up as the joke of the day! Can't put the character-assassins in charge of the targets.  Now the same idea is circulating here....  NOT that this forum is totally populated by the same insanity as there, but there IS a certain level of decidedly unpopular and non-conforming  personalities { again, flailing hands in the air!!!}  which will  never fit in right.    Just scrolling thru this very thread, I found every one of MY posts have now been thumbs-downed.  Wonder why?  Is my idea sharing that unpopular?  Sharing FACTS is not acceptable?  If thats the case, all I can say is watta fascist/commie place this has turned into.  And as far as Straight Talk...  Glad it got yanked.

Now if you'll excuse me, I have posts to defeat!  Hail Caesar!

-a-venter

Vent,

you're correct sir, and it's easy to circumvent the banning.  With users right here in Cocklebur having multiple personality ( disorder?) log-ins, no matter who is banned they can arise again.  Moderators cannot monitor every thought or post. Who has that kind of time???  It takes me 30 minutes to scroll thru yesterday's posts alone, let alone make sense of them as to their maleviolence or not.

Oh and Vent, I already gave you a thumbs-up.....
