For over two years I supported Nick in his job as media administrator at AIM. I have never met the man but what stood out about him was his profession of faith and his statement that he is a Christian. I tipped Nick on a very newsworthy story concerning School District 5 in August 2006 which he passed on to his wife and she wrote a very good article in the paper and I was glad that people in our area could see in black and white what Dist. 5 had done to a Christian club at one of the schools. I certainly disagreed with some of Nick's columns and more recently with how he has handled the AIM site and the Cocklebur site. He appears to have lost all reasoning and has gone completely boo hoo at times.
As you know I was hounded continually by two posters in particular, sshm and theflash/rino. After one of sshm's post in late July '08, I asked Nick to contact sshm and request that sshm stop his personal attacks on me. I would go for days without responding to sshm but it gets old in a hurry. Nick replied and said that he did not have any control over accounts in his new section (the Cocklebur). Then, out of the clear blue Nick accused me of being one of several posters who accused him of trying to silence opinions that he did not like. I told him that he must have me confused with some other poster as I had not accused him of anything. He must have rechecked and came back mentioning Quy and calling Quy a 'jerk for mouthing off his BS'. Nick then asked me to stick up for him and I replied that I would. He said Thanks and I did stand up for him when he was attacked in the forums several times after that.
On August 14, '08, I was attacked by sophiavoter and seekthecreek. I responded very gently by saying: "sophiavoter, you are an ugly person." And to seekthecreek I replied the same: "seekthecreek, you are an ugly person." Nick deleted both of my replies but did not delete either of theirs that attacked me. Nick warned me that if he completely bans me that all my posts would evaporate forever. I'm not sure Nick intentionally included in his email to me about being banned or not but he let me know that he had deleted my simple reply to sophiavoter because Capt. Leo had requested that my post be deleted...and Nick did just that. Leo was not mentioned in the topic whatsoever before this moment. This told me that Nick is heavily influenced by the liberal segment of his forums and that he will follow their lead as long as he is media administrator.

do you not think that Ryans, Rick Driver, Anderson School District 5, and the Cocklebur may have a point in banning you? I personally find you offensive and a little scary. Maybe you should think about why all these folks try to distance themselves from you.

Anyone have a quick answer to these? Why do some posts have cross outs that disappear if your cursor is in the post? And what's with the +1 or -2s next to the word permalink?

NYBob, the "+" or "-" represents the net total of "thumbs ups/thumbs downs" a post has gotten. For example, if four members gave it a thumbs up and three give it a thumbs down, it'll show a +1. If three give it a thumbs up and four give it a thumbs down, it'll show -1 and will be lined through indicating the community as a whole doesn't like it.
At one time, there was a "hide" feature to allow members to make offensive posts - or any post - disappear from their screen. Now,the post remains and is easily readable if you just put your cursor on it and make the lines go away.
It's that "community policing" feature Nick was talking about. I don't know that it really means anything overall.

I have no idea why somebody gave a "thumbs down" to a simple question, NYBob. That's usually a sign that somebody has a personal grudge against you and anything you say. I get 'em too. I also get my share of well-deserved ones. 
I just gave it a "thumbs up" so now you're back to 0 at this moment. Can't help beyond that. That's our quota - one thumb per post per screenname.
I have found the post are quiet a bit (more) pleasant in the past week.

If you and the rest of crazies who think I have enough time in the day to carefully read every ridiculous sentence that passes for intelligent thought in this forum and on Independentmail.com just so that I can remove opinions I disagree with, how could i possibly defend myself with a rational argument?
As I've said, I've given up on this site, so you can say whatever the heck you want to say. Just have at it. I have no stake, and soon enough, will have no involvement at all, in this Frankenstein's monster of a free speech forum that I ever-so-idealistically set up ....

Anyone other then Mr. Hankey find it a real pain in the keyster that you have to try to read the post with the line through it just because someone don't like anyone.
