VEEP - a candidate with SUBSTANCE!
Hankey, Ms Rice comes to mind, really quickly. How much more experience can you get? I hope her not being nominated was her choice. Personally, I would have preferred her for President.-confused
yea and part of the ever popular busch admin.
talk about a looseing ticket.
JD Tippett,
Yes we should hold Obama to the same standard as Mrs Palin. If he had a teenage daughter that was pregnant and a newborn special needs infant then he should put his family first and not have a job,any job, that would take him away from his children on a regular basis.
It has nothing to do with Democrats or Liberals or Republicans or Conservatives. It has to do with what is best for a family. If the Palin family can do it and still give those children the love and care that they need then more power to them. I could not and I am suprised that so many "family value christian conservatives" would want children put in that type of position.
Some call me "male chauvinist" but I am not.I guess I am just an old fashion family comes first kind of person. My better halve has acomlished much more in life than I could ever have and I have supported her all the way. But she was always there for the kids...family first.
What part of the fact that Ms. Palin's husband is home with the kids. My husband stayed home with our son and I worked. My son used to make fun of the fact that his friends had it easy cause they had wait till their father's came home but he had it worse cause he had to wait till your mother gets home.
Wyatt and johnb2 your both acting like total jerks. You guys can't get her on her quailifications so now your attacking her on her parenting skills and what she is doing with her life. Get a life dudes

I thought Fred Thompson made a great statement in his speech last night. He said, in referring to Obama "the Democratic candidate is the most liberal and the most inexperienced candidate ever nominated in the history of the United States of America." And the Dumbcrats fall on their hands and knees at the very mention of the muslim candidate.
Noeline,
I will vote for McCain, can't vote for Oboma, but I still feel that he made the wrong choice.
By the way, I don't think that I would try to make the argument that her "qualifications" was what got her on the ticket, because she dos not have any. Just like Obama NO EXPERIENCE that qualifies her for the position.
I played a major role in raising our daughters, took them to & from school, president of PTO and I was the one that normally stayed home with them when they were sick, so if that makes me a jerk so be it. But I also know that there are some things that Mothers are better at when raising children, girls in particular,(especially pregnant ones).
As I stated before if the Palins can do it and still give those children all that they need, more power to them.
From a personal point of view I like Mrs Palin. She appears to be someone you could associate with on many levels and feel comfortable. But that does not qualify her to be VP.
Pailin don't need to raise her children. as the queen bee or x queen bee of the left stated "it takes a village to raise a child".
she should feel free to do as she pleases.
Juicy quote:
That was a long way of saying: Dig deep into Sarah Palin, get all you can, talk to everybody, get every vote, every quote, tell us of her career and life, she may be the next vice president. But don't play games. And leave her kid alone, bitch.
geez, do I understand that concept.....
Palin is no rookie. She is wildly popular in Alaska, with approval ratings of about 80%. She's been involved in local politics since 1992 and, after a failed race for lieutenant governor, was elected governor in 2006. Along the way, she honed a speaking style that is confident.
Palin is knowledgable and experienced about two hot-button campaign issues: energy policy and the earmark corruption scandal in Washington.
As an advocate for drilling for oil and natural gas here at home, including in the Arctic National Wildlife Refuge, she can hammer an issue already helping Republicans. Her record of fighting wasteful spending helps reinforce a populist issue strongly identified with McCain.
Yea baby she got it all.
Hankey
I have to agree on all points and add one that I have not heard mentioned yet.
I believe that her ability to adapt to situations, she will excel in forein policy and give Biden an equil NOT LESSER oponant.
She is NO BLONDE!
I do think she has some limmeted forein experiance with Russian fishing/shipping industry.
Well, it's nice to see someone who speaks plain English and is unashamed of being an American from outside the northeast urban/ Washington beltway talking head culture. Hey, all you pundits, all you professional politicians from both parties, there are real people out here living with the results of your actions and decisions. We don't get included in the exit polls, or the NBC/NYT polls or stuff like that. But we vote and we count and we care about what's going on. And Sara Palin is going to appeal to a lot of us. Will she make missteps as she moves onto a bigger, grander stage? You bet. But if she faces them and admits them, she'll find the American people to be pretty forgiving.
As to her pregnant daughter, every mother of a daughter in America, and any Dads who are paying attention, are all saying, "There but for the grace of god". By the way,a 17 year old girl pregnant with the child of her high school sweetheart is a bit different from a 14 year old girl pregnant with the child of somebody she met at the local McDonald's.
In short, Palin is a breath of fresh air, and will be a great counterpoint to McCain. Gonna be a long tough campaign, and the lady appears ready to pull her weight.
Bottom line for me: I am not happy with Bush, but feel that we would have been far worse off with Kerry/Edwards (Scary Kerry and his Boy Toy).
Obama strikes me the same way. I would not feel that my vote was being cast in the best interest of our country if I voted for him. Biden would make a far better president. I could live with Biden as the pres -- he is too liberal for me, but I feel we would be safe with him. Not Obama.
McCain - he was not my first choice but once again -- he is a far better choice in my opinion that Barak Hussein Obama. And his choice of #2 - Sarah Palin??? Well, yes, she is a working mom. She has a child with special needs and keeps on going. There is something about the woman that I trust. And it is not just that she is a woman. I did not trust Hillary. But I trust Sarah Palin.
Do I care that the terrorists won't be "read their rights"? Nope.
Is character and hope a measure? Yes. Sarah could have easily aborted an "inconvenient" baby with special needs. She did not. It could have beendone secretly and no one would ever know. It is not easy taking care of a special needs child. She did not shirk.
Is character and hope a measure? Yes. John McCain could have gotten out of his prison and had an easier time of it. He stuck it out under torture for years. To be honest, I would have caved. I am not a hero. McCain is. He has shown he can be trusted under extreme pressure.
When my child was in 4th grade, she came home and asked me what a "b-j" was (but she used the words....). I nearly died!!!!!!!!!!!!!! And to have my little girl hear that thanks to the action of our President was appalling. I do not believe we will have that with the Obamas or the McCains, thankfully. But it shows why character counts.
Yes Queen I think lots of people feel they can trust her.
and Lil' Buggy I have to say that you seem right on too. wel with that post anyway. OMG what has happend? Maybe Mr. Hankey needs to re think this.
LOL
Mr. Hankey is kind of hoping Obama gets in because Mr. hankey needs a tooth looked at and Mr. Hankey might as well wait untill everyone has to pay for Mr. hankeys teeth then do it now and pay it on his own.
If Obama gets in, he will make sure I get the gubermint to pay for my acrylic nails and pedicure too, as well as waxing my eyebrows and chin hair. Hmmm..... maybe I need to rethink my priorities.
Lordy mercy, Hanky, Dune, and Queen all in agreement?? Maybe that hurricane is gonna land smack! dab on top of Anderson County!
