Sarah Palin as a VP candidate is an awesome choice! She is terrific. Strong individual, family values, and member of the NRA.
Blogger, ole Biden don't look so good anymore!

I agree, Queen. Her name surfaced a few weeks ago as a longshot possibility, and I thought then she would be a good choice. But I really didn't think McCain would go in that direction.
Congratulations on the "maverick" on an excellent choice.
McCAIN-PALIN '08!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Geraldine Ferraro comes to mind. Good stategy though. Father time definitely needs some youth and vibrance in the camp, even if nobody's ever heard of her. In fact, given the overall disgust with the Republicans, anonymity is probably her best asset. Hopefully, she'll be more help to him than Ferraro was to poor hapless Walter Mondale. They're going to need it against the Obama-Biden juggernaut.
Yes, we know, Blogger. You're voting for the liberal. I think we all knew that.
I've voting AGAINST Obama, not because he's black, but because he's liberal. I'm voting FOR John McCain, not because he's white but because he's conservative. Sort of. Sometimes.
I'm with you, JD. My son jumped me the other day because I said I would never vote for Obama. "You just won't vote for a black man," he said in all his 17 y/o self-righteousness. No, I just won't vote for that black man. Colin Powell, where are you?
Don't kbnow much about Palin (doing my research now) but she certainly shakes up the ticket, and she certainly steals some obama thunder, which was one fo the goals the day after the Dem convention. Nice tactical move, but we need to see what this woman brings to the table.
Betcha Hillary is having a fit! Brings to mind that ole country song "It could've been me...."
I thought of the Pinkard and Bowden classic, "I'd rather hear a fat girl fart than a pretty boy sing."
Agree, totally Friend! I would vote for a black man, but not THAT black man. I WILL vote for a woman but would not vote for Hillary.
This shows Republicans are the forward thinking ones. Women can do anything and this is one more step forward. This is going to make a huge impact. Many who might vote Democrat will be inclined to vote for the Republican ticket this time around.
Darn him for pciking a woman! Good thing I'm voting for the candidate not the color of skin or gender or I would be sorely tempted to go R!-blogger

+ she is HOT!
I never thought I'd agree with Hankey, but she is HOT! lol
Down boy! Down girl!
Anybody who can be hot in Alaska is an overachiever. I speak from experience.
I don't know how her spelling is, but I'm sure she knows how many states there are in the United State of America - and she can probably even tell you what year her state became one of them.
Spiro Agnew? Nixon's vice president? Yeah, I know what you mean about him. He took on the nattering nabobs of negativity and lost. It would be a shame to have another vice president from one of those little Northeastern states where union thugs run roughshod over local governments and where corruption runs rampant. Nobody in his right mind would take a chance on a running mate from that neck of the woods.
(Huh? What? He's from WHERE? You've got to be kidding me ... )
Is this what the campaign is going to be, NYbob. I'll play. But there really are issues that need to be debated other than those involving Spiro Agnew and Dan Quayle, don't you think? And, personally, if I were Barack Obama, I wouldn't want to bring up the issue of Quayle's alleged "lack of qualifications" for very obvious reasons.
the year her state because one of them?
You sound a little like Mr. Hankey JD.
I think McCain's pick is clearly pandering. He needs a gimmick to give him a "bounce" after the Dems' convention. - and to fire up interest in the R's upcoming convention.
Problem is, she'll have to debate against Biden, who will have her for lunch. And, then there's the little matter of an investigation into her firing a public safety commissioner for allegedly failing to do her bidding in firing her sister's ex-husband. Nattering nabobs not withstanding.
the year her state because one of them? You sound a little like Mr. Hankey JD.-mr-hankey-the-d
That's called a "typo" Hankey. Fixed it. Thanks for pointing it out. Anybody know a good edyter?
I haven't sounded like you, Hankey, since I gave up heavy drinking more than 20 years ago, and hopefully I won't again unless I have a stroke or something. But thanks for the comparison anyway.
And, NYBob, I don't think Biden will "have her for lunch." Bill Clinton and John Edwards have already gotten into enough trouble for that kind of stuff. When will you Democrats ever learn?
As for your other allegations, if Rezko hasn't hurt Obama, I suspect that issue won't hurt Palin. Unless, of course, the media really is in the tank for the Obama campaign and is using a double standard.
Pandering?
hell she would probably be better then McCain himself.
but anyway, your saying thet Obama did not pick Biden because he was a white guy?
that could not be it could it.
hell they are on the same page and always agreed together dident they.
