I don't understand. I thought we were getting things back on track. If you are truly giving up you need to change the name. You are still going to be taking blows and wasting time and emotion being upset if you don't. You must have received objectionable e-mails as I have not discerned any real problems here, just the usual grumblings. Out of curiosity, what happened to the "hide" mechanism.

Again ... I will defend to my death the ability for others to express their opinions here. I may not agree with everyone ... heck there are some people's ideas that I totally abhor ... but at the end of the day, they need to express them.
Just keep the profanity out of it and ensure what is said can not be used or accused of being slander. Besides ... I've always said that if one has to resort to profanity to get their point across, someone should invest in a vocabulary book. There are far better ways to pick apart a person and their ideas without resorting to the "Seven Dirty Words."

I think I might have to file an FOI here in order to get to the bottom of this.
All you Democrats should be on this like stink on a scunk. Heck, you sure were all over every damn thing Pres. Bush did, wrong or not.....
I want to know who knew what.
When they knew it.
I want to see all the emails associated with these decisions as to who was being banned.(screen names are fine) Not like we are going to harrass them or anything but some of us want to know. But since Nick has has it with us.....taken his toys and left the blog......I guess MR. Hankey will never have his day in court and know who the accuser(s) are or even what the charges were against him.
Parden MR. Hankey or ruler of the Cocklebur.........who is with me?

As far as Nick I don't like the attacks on him personally but he also set this up as part of his job and was paid while he did it. If I'm wrong Nick please speak up. And VOR, like Hankey, what's with the fake bad spelling?

Are you seriously comparing the banning of Mr. Hankey from the Cocklebur with the Bush regime? I hope I am missing the sarcasm!
Was Hankey the one banned forever or just one of the ones who had to take a week off?
And again, the melodrama is a little over the top. The "speech" everyone is so concerned about protecting was essentially a battle over who was the "most gay." Also, I think they will all but one be back in a week after they sit in the corner and think about what they've done wrong. I swear, my classroom is less trouble than this blog most days, and I can hand out demerits there!
Let's all let this mess calm down and then schedule a nice blog lunch where we discuss our options for moderation and decide, with input from our "owners," what would be the most fair while also being the most effective.

Are you serious?!? There's no Freedom of Information here, it's a dictatorship and you have no need to know. There's no court, no tribunal, no appeal. If Mr. Hankey wants to come back after his ban is over, he's going to have to work it out with Nick.
