Yes, Preston's kids have suffered great humiliation from all the unproven junk that's been printed and broadcast about him. Waldrep's kids are grown and one is very active (at the center of) his campaign. Don't know about Stan's progeny. And I am sure that Cindy's 16ish year old daughter has suffered from the mean-spirited banter about her mother. At one point somebody said she was contemplating moving to live with grandparents in another town. The kids of our public servants shouldn't be treated that way by our community. And you can't really contol gossip. It's human nature. However, the media should resist the urge to print every unsubstantiated nugget of personal gossip that one's political enemies whisper to them.

Nick - shouldn't you have to be old enough to vote to be on here? We don't want any one's children getting hurt because they are too young to understand and just love their mentor do we?

Not much I can do there ... are we going to start doing passport checks :( I might not fare too well ;)

As for the other things mentioned. I can take my lumps, when they are deserved. I still am staying out of the dirty side of politics. This lawsuit has nothing to do with the election, and I think that will be clear once it really starts in earnest. I didn't become "a part of what most of <you> hate" at all. I also didn't even get involved until lies were spread about me. I think you will find that I am still the nice man you thought I was and some of your facts are just inaccurate.

-brandon-grace

You are staying out of the dirty side of politics? Funny! The lawsuit had nothing to do with the election? Funny, again!

When the facts are known, it will come out that you are the dirty side of politics. It was coincidence that the "lawsuit" was filed a week or so before the election? You are full of crap.

I doubt any facts will be known. This piece of junk lawsuit will be thrown out lack yesterdays garbage. Mr. Grace, stop acting like an innocent bystander. Those of us who know you know better.

I am a little confused, people keep acussing Mr Grace of playing politics and filing his lawsuit a week or so before the election. But wasn't his lawsuit in response to allegations in Ms Wilsons campaign litature? I would imagine that litature went out fairly close to the election, which meant the timing directly correlated to what she did. Perhaps next time Ms Wilson chooses to include slanderous material in her campaign material she should do it six to eight months before the election that way when the offended party defends themself it doesn't look like it was politiaclly motivated.

Brandon, you're a nice guy. Sweet to take in a child in need. Had a few "extra" beyond my own as well. Of course she is going to defend you, you're her saving grace in this world. However, this is an adult political forum and even though WPD says we should keep it clean, most don't. That's how four people got a time out from Nick blog father of us all.

How odd she just found this blog. I guess little ears are always listening.

I hope justice does prevail in this case. I still say dirty politics just like the "I must protect my employees" law suit. Waste of our money.

Good point Ed!

BTW - nonsense re: imported veggies at the market. I go there a lot. AMAZING how fresh veggies unites the conservatives and liberals alike! You can talk to the vendors. They are all from around here. To be blunt, it costs MORE sometimes to buy at the farmers market than the grocery store, and is not always as convenient! BUT - I like getting tomatoes and other stuff grown in Anderson County soil. And I have not seen stuff coming from out of the area folks, truly! Sorry, smuggling a zucchini just does not seem really practical.

Blogger,
That makes such perfect sense that I doubt any of these folks will listen to it.

I've been thinking about this thread these last few minutes, and I have two questions:

1. Is Mr. Grace in any way guilty of the deception that Ms. Wilson accused him of?

2. JaneDoe said "Poor Brandon used to stay out of the dirty side of politics but now he has jumped in and will have to take his lumps for doing so.' What specifically has he done to jump in?

Those are my questions. Any input would be appreciated 9and by input I mean verifiable, quantifiable information) because I really want to know.

Ok, be back shortly. There are two box turtles mating in my kitchen. I'm looking for the Barry White CD now.

Finally, an interesting thread on this forum. ibva, would you mind expanding on why you are breeding box turtles, or is this just nature taking its course?

Box turtles don't like Dean Martin songs. Eels do. "Wheeennn youuu're swimmin' in the sea and an eel bites your knee, that's A MORAY ... "

Editor, Since it may be a while before IBV gets back (you know how slow turtles move) ...I know IBV and her fellow have some rescue turtles at their house, I would guess it is just nature taking it's course.

When I was in college, I spent part of a summer working on a turtle ranch in Louisiana. It's not the mating that takes so long, Blogger. It's the time it takes to get out of and back into those shells. Embarassed
