Well plumbbob you beat me to that punchline. I googled ACUSA and all i got was a link to the Episcopal Church website. So now we are to have a right-wing Episcopal church for all people. Will there be wine at communion? If so count me in. Since this is a church for all people will the good Father welcome all those people his radio station has slammed so unChristianly in the past primary. Seems mightily hypocritical to me. I'll stick with Flip's church of What's Happening Now.
Josiah, after watching Gracie Floyd on Council, I have to admit I think she deserves any mockery and satire she gets. Her attitude isthat she better than anyone else on Council, appraently because her hubby kicked thebucket while he was on Council, and she's black. Her claims that she works hard for her people is poppycock. She begshard forher people, whoever they are,and she workshard for Mr. PReston. To watch him and McAbee guide her through a meeting is discouraging to say theleast. She is cavalier towards the public, especially those who don't buy into her venerable leader of the black community persona. She wants to be Rosa Parks. Unfortunately, she's not even Bea Thompson.

Watched the Flip Wilson show religiously and laughed uproariously. Everybody should laugh like that.
Ellie, I used to watch Carol Burnett and Red Skelton and the Rowan and Martin Laugh-In too.Tim Conway brought me to tears with his slapstick and physical humor. Johnny Cash and Dean Martin had great variety shows too.They were greay family entertainment, you know? So many careers got started on those shows,or received huge boosts from them. It's a shame that there are no variety shows on television anymore. We're left with reality shows like american Idol.

I got a huge laugh from the satire. While I may disagree with the reasoning behind it, it is cute.

When Tim Conway did the bit where he was a dentist and shot himself with the novacaine is still one of the funniest bits I've ever seen on television.And when he was the dry cleaner who got his clothes hookedon the revolving rack? Omigod! The man was a genius. So was Red Skelton, the greatest clown I ever saw, including County Council.I like sitcoms, and there have been some great ones, but they did drive varietyoff the air and that is too bad.

I loved Gunsmoke. I doubt if any television show in history had more actors appear on it who went on to stardom and long successful careers.I mean even Dennis Hopper was on that show. Burt Reynolds, Robert Urich, of course Dennis Weaver, who was McCloud on is own show probably fifteen years later.I thought the Cartwright boys were all gay. Hell, they never even dated.
I've found the Honeymooners on Sunday nights at 9. Also some of the Brit comedies, Last of the Summer Wine on Sat. Jackie Gleason and Art Carney still makes me chuckle.

I don't agree with preachers being involved in politics, but the parodies on there are pretty funny. I guess Mrs. Floyd means well, but she's made it apparent time and time again that she's not qualified or informed enough for the office.
I don't get the CC meetings on TV (Dish Network) or Radio. HINT HINT AIM you need to either tape or simulcast them for the thousands of Anderson County residents that don't get them.

I believe the voters of her district have found her to be qualified because she has been re-elected for the past how many years and by an even more overwhelming majority than Cindy "letmeaskaquestionbutdon'tbotherwithananswercauseIknowyourlying" Wilson. What were those margins over Tim Williams and Marshall Mitchell? You know Lee you really should think for yourself and not regurgitate all the WAIM talking points. And if you find Gracie unqualified and misinformed, what do you say about Bob "thedogatemyordiance" Waldrep? He seems to be as senile and uninformed as Gracie does. His inability to conduct a meeting in an orderly fashion is quite evident. Go back and watch some of the council meetings while he was chairman.
We all know the darkside (WAIM idiots) that desCINDYed on District #1 in the June 24th runoff think that they can do the same in District #2 in the General election because they don't have any other elections to worry about. They are harrassing Gracie and trying to intimidate her into lashing out at them in an effort to damage her politically so that their no name, no job, imported from some other district candidate can stand a chance. I have to give them credit for having an "open and transparent" campaign strategy. Go for it guys. Just gussy your guy up a bit, tell him to leave the shorts and flip flops at home when he comes to the Council meetings, and for goodness sake don't tell anybody he's unemployed and lives with his momma. If you darkside folks will do this and bring out all your crazies on election day, your guy might garner 10 percent.
