Disgusted with Bob Waldrep's reckless and insane behavior toward County staff, apparently a well-known, extremely well-funded candidate is pondering jumping into the County Council District #1 race in November as a write-in candidate for the November general election. Rumor has it that a prominent person from district #3 is also looking at a write-in candidacy for November. Citing concerns from the community that these political vigilantes (Waldrep and Moore) will continue the notorious negativity on County Council for another two years, the two would be write-in candidates have said they'd like to see the voters given a chance to reject the negativity and get back to the business of creating jobs and providing infrastructure. Conventional wisdom says write-ins don't fair well, but these two old Anderson candidates might just have enough money and name recognition to make it interesting. Ole Bob and Eddie may have overplayed their hands in their legally questionable assault on the professional reputations of county staff and may have the County headed for more legal troubles in 2009 if they are not stopped. The June primary results were as much about ending the negativity as they were open government.

This is how Joey Ray Preston is thinking.  He must do everthing, legal and illegal, to keep his dark books in hiding and not open to the public.  If something like that happens Preston will spend at least one million of our taxdollars on his cronies campaign.  That is the kind of person Joey is.

Or Mister McCarthy . . .

It could be as simple as the silent majority waking up and realizing that it's not too late to right the ship that was nearly sunk on June 10th and again on June 24th. US Citizens participating in the democratic process - what could be more noble.

As you like to say Mister McCarthy . . . America: Love it or leave it.

I failed to mention of another hot rumor that came out of the meeting this morning:  one, possibly two or more of Preston's former robots may be bargaining for something if they turn the lights on about what has been going on the past few years under the present administrator.  Will that be wonderful or will that be wonderful?

Peniel your so full of it.
you jerks don't have clue one on how Joey runs this county and clue two about how to run it, other then running it into the ground in your effort to get back to the stone age.

My advice on that is to give up now.

It won't work.  The CAVE people are far too good at this game by now.

I say bring it on, and we'll see what the outcome is in November. Are these people who may or may not be figures of deepthroat's imagination going to run as write-in or petition candidates?

I think it's too late for a petition candidate to get on the ballot, Lee. It would have to be a write-in candidacy by someone who would run with no formal party affiliation. I could be wrong about that, but I seem to recall a deadline for petitions of sometime back in mid-July.

IS IT TRUE THAT A HIGH RANKING PUBLIC FIGURE IN THE PRESTON ELITE HAS REQUESTED TO BE A PLAYER IN THE LOCAL "LET'S MAKE A DEAL" PROGRAM?  Cool

My sources are extremely accurate and I think we should 'make a deal' in some cases.  This one merits attention for sure.  Stay tuned.

Deep Throat's opening post was exploratory and way off the beam. There is a move afoot bythe world's second crookedest realtor and Joey Preston sycophant Hugh Durham to assemble thirty or forty of Anderson's "leading citizens"such as John Miller and the usual Preston crowd to meet with Bob Waldrep and some of the newly elected Council members.Hey, Hugh! A little lesson in political science, sir. You don't contribute to the losing side and then try and dictate terms to the winners. I guess they are going to show them the error of their ways.I'm sure they plan to plead for mercy for Mr. Preston.
I hope Bob throws Hugh Durham out on his ass. Hugh Durham has benefited more from the irrational, contradictory, and inconsistent zoning rulings by this administration than anyone in the county.
Miller time would be better spent by him explaining why a non-profit hospital, while losing millions of dollars last year, is also accumulating hundreds of acres of land all over the county.More than seventy five separate properties, including hundreds of acres in thenorth end of the county.
You know, when you stop and think about it, the Waldrep comeback is a remarkable story. Despite a nasty campaign in which other incumbents as well as the county administrator handpicked and financed an opponent to run against him, Waldrep won re-election and now has more clout and stature than he ever did. As the likely choice for chairman, he appears to be in the driver's seat for the coming term of Council. In my opinion, his first use of that prestige and clout should be to show Durham and his rabble the door,if he even agrees to meet with them.

And that post Bob, shows why Anderson is so backward and behind the time.

Let's keep everything in perspective here folks.

Ecclesiastes
Chapter 1
1:1 The words of the Preacher, the son of David, king in Jerusalem.

1:2 Vanity of vanities, saith the Preacher, vanity of vanities; all is vanity.

1:3 What profit hath a man of all his labour which he taketh under the sun?

1:4 One generation passeth away, and another generation cometh: but the earth abideth for ever.

1:5 The sun also ariseth, and the sun goeth down, and hasteth to his place where he arose.

1:6 The wind goeth toward the south, and turneth about unto the north; it whirleth about continually, and the wind returneth again according to his circuits.

1:7 All the rivers run into the sea; yet the sea is not full; unto the place from whence the rivers come, thither they return again.

1:8 All things are full of labour; man cannot utter it: the eye is not satisfied with seeing, nor the ear filled with hearing.

1:9 The thing that hath been, it is that which shall be; and that which is done is that which shall be done: and there is no new thing under the sun.

1:10 Is there any thing whereof it may be said, See, this is new? it hath been already of old time, which was before us.

1:11 There is no remembrance of former things; neither shall there be any remembrance of things that are to come with those that shall come after.

1:12 I the Preacher was king over Israel in Jerusalem.

1:13 And I gave my heart to seek and search out by wisdom concerning all things that are done under heaven: this sore travail hath God given to the sons of man to be exercised therewith.

1:14 I have seen all the works that are done under the sun; and, behold, all is vanity and vexation of spirit.

1:15 That which is crooked cannot be made straight: and that which is wanting cannot be numbered.

1:16 I communed with mine own heart, saying, Lo, I am come to great estate, and have gotten more wisdom than all they that have been before me in Jerusalem: yea, my heart had great experience of wisdom and knowledge.

1:17 And I gave my heart to know wisdom, and to know madness and folly: I perceived that this also is vexation of spirit.

1:18 For in much wisdom is much grief: and he that increaseth knowledge increaseth sorrow.

Plumbbob, you hit it on the head and drove it deep, well written.  Bob, Cindy and the newly elected are far too smart to fall for the begging of the losers.  Joey is out along with some of his cronies.  Long live the new King and Queen!!!!!111
