BET YOU THOUGHT THERE WAS A GRANT!

" Well, you can’t have that, but if you’re an american citizen you are entitled to:
A heated kidney shaped pool,
A microwave oven--don’t watch the food cook,
A dyna-gym--I’ll personally demonstrate it in the privacy of your own home,
A kingsize titanic unsinkable molly brown waterbed with polybendum,
A foolproof plan and an airtight alibi,
Real simulated indian jewelry,
A gucci shoetree,
A year’s supply of antibiotics,
A personally autographed picture of randy mantooth
And bob dylan’s new unlisted phone number,
A beautifully restored 3rd reich swizzle stick,
Rosemary’s baby,
A dream date in kneepads with paul williams,
A new matador,
A new mastadon,
A maverick,
A mustang,
A montego,
A merc montclair,
A mark iv,
A meteor,
A mercedes,
An mg,
Or a malibu,
A mort moriarty,
A maserati,
A mac truck,
A mazda,
A new monza,
Or a moped,
A winnebago--hell, a herd of winnebago’s we’re giving ’em away,
Or how about a mcculloch chainsaw,
A las vegas wedding,
A mexican divorce,
A solid gold kama sutra coffee pot,
Or a baby’s arm holding an apple?"

(thanx to 'The Tubes' for that one!)

Wyatt, I delete my post, your post and Mark's post regarding the misidentification of one of our members. Sorry about that.       And then you quoted mine. Can we all just shut up for a few minutes and sort this out?       Geez, this is getting complicated.

-jdtippett

Thank you JD, and yes I thumbed up your action.

"could one or prefered all of you chime in on this one?"

I'll gladly chime in.  Having had a lunatic show up at my house after tracing my identity from this site, rest assured that anyone that is posting personal information about any member will be immediately banned.  JD gets a consensus on this from all of us, but I will not.  I will do it immediately.  Is that clear?  I've quit caring about county politics.   I've been as fair as I can be.  I hated Joey, and I disagreed with this "buyout,"  But your "people" are screwing this county so thoroughly that I almost wish Joey back (and that is scary).

So, again, just to be clear, since it seems English grammar isn't your strong suit.  If ANYONE, Wyatt, you, muckraker, or anyone else attempts to post personal information about any poster who is not a public official, then I will immediately and without explanation ban you from ATZ.  I'm trying to stay out of this silly little pissing contest.  I deal with teenagers all day, and I really just don't feel like dealing with this kind of stuff on the weekends...without pay.

And while we are on the subject, if anything personal about me shows up on that little three person forum where JD's personal information is posted, rest assured that I will do everything in my power to see the person responsible in court.  I have free legal representation, so I could file any suit I could think of, and believe me when I tell you that I would.

      Thank you, Virginia.
Okay, that's two of the five officially on the record, and having talked to both Merrymacsc and PAPPY about this issue - people posting personal information about ATZ members - I'm reasonably sure that if they choose to speak out here, it'll be FOUR. Art doesn't much like to scold or ban anybody, but he supports the efforts of the rest of us.
That should lay it to rest. Keep it to the politics, not to the personal matters that have nothing to do with anybody's public actions unless there's a warrant or something along those lines. Civil actions, rumors, how much money a non-public figure makes, where he or she lives, what he or she does in their own time as long as it's legal - none of that will be allowed here.
Virginia is right. The hateful games of intimidation may be okay in a Council chamber that's out of control during meetings, or on WAIM radio, but they aren't allowed here. By EITHER side. ATZ will not be allowed to turn into nothng more than an internet version of the local radio talk show.

If it kills the site, then so be it. But we're going to go down fighting.

Here's another moderator chiming in. That's what's wrong with politics in Anderson.  It has become the politics of personal destruction.  Mr. Powell, you really don't want to appeal to my sense of mercy on any issue.  I've sat in council meetings and heard your vicious version of certain events.  The hateful games being played during those out of control meetings and radio shows are destroying this county as well as people who live in this county.  Talk about issues not personalities.  If a poster wishes to identify himself or herself, he/she can certainly do so.  If said poster wishes to post personal information, by all means do so.  However, many of us do not wish to be outed; some of us need the anonymity that our screen names provide.   I think everyone already knows who merrymacsc really is.  But I don't appreciate having personal information posted on this or any other website that I have not approved or endorsed.  I too share IBVA's concern about crazies.  Although I have not yet been accosted in my own home by one, rest assured I now lock my doors when I am home alone.  I have a gun, it is loaded, and I'm out of estrogen.

Here is my belated but fully in agreement with my fellow moderators, chime-in.
Y'all know the rules, just comply.

Seems simple enough to me.
But perhaps I am too simpleminded. . .smile

JDTippett,

Although keeping ATZ civil and substantial at all times is an impossible dream, your assertive moderator’s role has pulled us out of falling off a cliff numerous times. Because of your continuous involvement and contributions, we are gaining in credibility and readership.

Well, Mark, by my count all five moderators have chimed in on this one. Thanks for asking, by the way. It saves me having bother them by phone to get their thoughts on a specific issue, as I usually do.
No personal information unless it involves a CRIME or is pertinent to the public actions of a public figure.
No attempts to unmask the real names behind the screen names.
And keep it civil at all times.
Couldn't be any more clearcut than that, could it?
       Next question?

Mark, a piece of advice here. You worry about your own posts and your own status on ATZ, and let others worry about theirs. You are trying to bait members with whom you disagree into saying something to get themselves banned. I would hope that's not going to happen.

Last night the mare referred to # 39 gave birth to a very small colt. When the mare came into PEARL's care she had been abandoned in Belton. She had a very low body weight. With a lot of feed and care the mare was able to put on weight and supply her unborn foal with enough nutrients to produce a live foal despite the challenges. The foals unusually small size is a direct result of the starvation the mare endured during the first two timesters of her pregnancy. A vet check this afternoon shows a small colt with healthy heart and lung sounds. We will be looking for a good adoptive home for mare and foal. The mare is an older TN Walking Horse. She id black. The foal is a champagne color weith a creasant moon on his forhead.

We want to thank Equi-Tox who donated enough domperidone to reverse the effects of fescue toxisity. This is a very expensive treatment necessary for mares that have grazed on fescue during the last trimester of their pregnancy.

Okay folks, time for THIS topic to be brought back from the dead.

Seven months after a voter-approved measure to fund and build was DONE, this new shelter has not seen one iota of movement, nor has it been sent out for re-bids, had a land deal signed ( even after the game played by Carol Glenn to "hold" this until the new council was seated), nor any signs of land preparation, or ANYTHING.
Matrix Construction has submitted a bid, which was FAR below the estimated costs, and included many upgrades and personal improvements and STILL came under bid estimates.  That bid was allowed to lapse due to the on-going games. And now this is under Moore's control to instead build some crappy pole-barn style enclosures with a metal building instead of a safer, more santary facility as was put out for bids.
I also understand there is some suspect shenanigans with who's going to get the sub-contracts, and their ties to certain Council members once it IS re-bid. And that is also a reason to "hold out" on this project, so the family and friends can get in on the deals.

I am angry beyond words about how many animals have died unnecessarily, and how many MORE will die until any action is taken on this measure.

What would you folks recommend here?   It's obvious the council is not moving forward with this anytime soon. The W&F group has brought this to them in open council, and nothing!
So, how does a pile of recently murdered animal carcasses, from this past month alone, left on the land owners front doorstep sound?  I wonder how high a pile of 700 dead dogs and cats stands?
Or Inviting PETA here to bring national media attention to the inactivity of CC ?
Should we bring our rescued pets to the next council meeting?  I'd enjoy dogs barking more than old farts quacking anyways...

I am not sure your information is all that accurate or up-to-date.  Last word from several of the council members was the project is still moving forward, the land is still being donated, they have modified the plans and, made some necessary changes. If you're at the meeting tonight why not ask the question rather than make these bold assumptions? devil

Are these plan modifications available anywhere? Can we citizens get a copy of them..or are they online as transparency dictates. It certainly wouldnt cost a dime or take more than a minute to put them online...

So I take it you will be at the meeting and asking for the plans and project status? Be sure to have that attitude when you ask I am sure it will be appreciated.

I have not asked to see the plans I asked about the project as a whole. As long as the building allows for cleanliness, good air quality, better  & more holding facilities, a full-time vet and, fixes the other major issues that needed to be addressed I wouldn't care if it had a brick facade or was painted pink & chartreuse. If it saves money as well, more the better. I am hopeful the other issues that needed to be corrected are being addressed in overall the management and policies & procedures for running the shelter.

No need for an attitude towards my question. It is a perfectly fair question to ask given the promises made by this council as they relate towrds openess and transparency.

I do not believe that it is not asking too much of them to assume that they make these plans available online or in some easily accesible format, given the level of public interest in this project.

It shouldnt be the job of the individual citizen to have to guess the magic word..and then say "pretty please" while tapping their shoes together 3 times.

I do agree with your statement about what is important about the facility. But honestly, can a "pole barn" provide that?
