Anderson's Animals
Opie, you are the most distorted and twisted poster on ATZ, and need to simply STFU!!! Return to your mom's basement bomb shelter and hide till the bombs fall, okie dokey!?!?
I didn't say the shelter staff did any of the illegalities you misrepresented here dumb@ss. As noted I am & have been a staunch supporter of Michele Dodd and the courageous volunteers at the Shelter. And if you can show my contempt or disparity towards Doc Burris, unless you also clip and re-edit like others have done, I say again STFU!! Doc Burris obviously doesn't have the time to perform the executions AND the spays every day, hence another staffer has the heineous task the other four days. I know they use the required meds, as we had our dog put down and he was graciously cared for as requested. The point made OPium, is the costs for cats/dogs vs. a horse euthenasia. Jeez Jerkwad & Moron, keep your factually contorted ideas on the same page once in a while.
Burris makes $90 K for two days' work per week. REQUIRING a certified LICENSED vet who also does large animals & small, supports the full time needs of the S/N clinic, and is able to maintain a regular schedule of 11,000+ executions would also require payment of $180K or more, unless you plan to 'put them to sleep' with your mindless and intensely boorish rehetoric, which seems to be killing off YOUR brain cells rather rapidly.
Who distorted what? LOL again you have been caught in your pathetic attempt to distort facts. When asked specifics you back track and pretend the person questioning you numbers is the idiot. Qualify what you say by beginning any comment you make with"in my less than accurate opinion I estimate the cost would be" 180,000.00, not that you will be arguing against a fictitious salary. What is that middle school saying you use?, SNAP, you're exposed. Zip up and keep the conversation to the facts.
JJ&M you try anything to make your point seem [increasingly less] valid. Go back and read pages 13 - 15. Consider your "all inclusive animal shelter" and who you blamed for the failure of the ordinance Floyd cost the count 75,000.00 to prepare a useless ordinance with no provision for large animals. Who would be responsible for that animal loving consideration? In fact you did correctly state that there would be a shake up in Anderson County Council before there was actual change. I am guessing this is not what you had in mind "dude". LOL
You are the one who said "put a 30.00 needle in their heart and a trash bag" not anyone else. If you think before you write you might have more credibility than a commodity trader for oil futures. Now your quote is, "Doc Burris obviously doesn't have the time to perform the executionsAND the spays every day, hence another staffer has the heinous taskthe other four days. I know they use the required meds, as we had ourdog put down and he was graciously cared for as requested." Okay you have knowledge of illegal activities unless there is a licensed vet who performs these duties and/or the legally required licensed person who acts only under veterinary supervision". (Sorry if I fixed all the incorrectly spelled words) Ouch, who is on opium to make that statement? I was unaware the county euthanize private citizens animals. Is there a bill for that service and is it available to other residents in Anderson County or are you special? What of your statement vets cannot practice both large and small animals care? ROTFLMAO Shall we ignore that piece of incorrect information as if you did not put that out there ? What of all the other statements you passed on and now denounce. Maybe your Biblical quote alludes to your being a Judas without any facts to hang those you detest for honesty; After all I do not remember Jesus saying His world was flat.
Stop, you are killing the shelter and the management you espouse to support with your testimony of how they possibly operate outside of the law.
Sounds to me like you just dropped a big old dime on Dr. Burriss Mr. Monteparro, which must be Italian for "both my feet fit in my mouth". If what you say is true, and after hearing you speak at several County Council meetings, I am NOT assuming that, then old Doc should be indicted for breaking more state and county laws than Gina Humphreys could count.
Yes Angel ( oops, Mrs. Montepara, now that we no longer need screen names here...) I recall that late evening call from Nicole W. about how important this issue was to MCW and waiting ( and still waiting) for MCW or BW to return that very call concerning how this will all play out. Been several months, hasn't it? Maybe MCW is a bit busy with other legal matters to return our calls? And maybe BW is asleep somewhere. Don't recollect a return call from PEARL about it either. Oh well, we address our concerns to Council (with achy-breaky foot-stomping) somewhat differently. But not to worry, we're in the phone book! Sure that call is coming momentarily.......
To address the rest of your reply. Our contact with the ACHS is limited. We chose to no longer participate in the partisan politics which permeated the group since the introduction of another rescue group to ACHS's rhelm. Once it became more important to make money off selling animals instead of saving lives, we left completely. And that would help explain why we're left with dozens of Humane Society animals in our charge. Because we don't make money off animals like another local group does. We're more interested in a safe environment, a low cost and a dedicated new family than if we make $80-$100 off a sale. As JD likes to point out, we didn't shut up, play along and got shut out. And because we don't receive any funding, grants, loans or other support or can afford to enact another 501(c-3) program to get funds, we simply are not involved with groups like ACHS or UAR any longer. We support, in our own ways, the efforts of groups willing to work with Council and County for the best overall solutions. The suggestions made about working with Clemson University and a workig horse farm/holding area also came up during the Gloden Corral meeting a few months' ago, yet heard nothing about that from your group. As we don't know anyone associated with CU or TCC, we can't help with that avenue. Our aspect of animals is with SMALL ones. So if you choose to not want our help, so be it. Just refrain from those 10:00 pm calls please.

Before JD goes and starts the TSO violation issues I wanted to remind everyone Wyatt all ready acknowledged who he is so there is no actual violation. I know how concerned JD is about this issue unless it is in reference to who is Holder. Will the real Holder please stand up?
Scrolling back through these posts to find that I still want to thank janedoe for the goldfish burial post. LOL still funny m'dear.
Alright, 1-Opinion, you just totally lost me there. What reference to Holder? What Holder? What are you talking about? I have made no references to anybody named "Holder" nor have I seen any. Did I miss something?
Don't answer that if it involves the ATZ member identification-as-intimidation games you like to play. Just send me a private message and explain what it's all about.
The ACHS provides a spay/neuter certificate for services for around $50.00, shots included!
currently it is not restricted throught the ACHS. I would love this whole process adopted as a county measure cost savings initiative, weighing the costs for death camp vs. spay clinic.

I'm not familiar with these certificates. Is this something you buy from the ACHS and redeem at your local vet?

You have your PM as you requested sir.
What Wyatt has brought to the Anderson Animals blog and the shelter. Sad but true, he keeps killing the very group he says he supports.
Believe it or not, we found a home for the QH with the bad attitude.
I am so glad!!! It is hard at this time to find folks to take horses at all.
Now looking for new homes
A paint mini gelding with blue eyes
A bay Hackney pony mare, 5 years old. Friendly, need training and a small child rider.
Anyone interested or who knows someone that might be should call me at 287-9939. I do have pictures I can send. Please send an e-mail that request to info@pearlsc.com to get them. I will put you in touch with the owner.
Both horses are up to date on shots and farrier work.
Thank you,
Nicole
Hello everyone I wanted to be sure to offer a fun time for families. There will be a horse fair at Welcome Ranch in Williamston, SC. (www.welcomeranchsc.com) The proceeds are to benefit PEARL. The link below is to the article that was put in the on-line Greenville Newspaper.
http://www.greenvilleonline.com/article/20090401/NEWS01/90401016/1004/NEWS01
here is the web site the young women putting this event on created to bring information.
www.equitopiahorsefair.synthasite.com
Currently PEARL has two horses in our care, a Tenn Walking Horse abandoned in Belton that turned out to be in foal and a Thoroughbred mare that was surrendered to Berkley County, SC.
I hope this is not a violation of the ATZ.
Regards,
Nicole
PS - We have helped place 12 horses this winter whose owners could no longer afford them. Thank you to everyone who helped get the word out and find good homes.
Nicole
I operate a myspace profile for Anderson County at myspace.com/electriccitysc
Do you mind if I post this there as a bulletin?
I would appreciate it. I am only sorry I didn't post it earlier.
Thank you,
Nicole
No problem. PEARL is a very worthy cause. I'll contribute as much as I can.
We stopped at Tractor Supply on Clemson Blvd today,I must say that store needs to learn a lesson on treatment of animals. As we all know Easter is Sunday and a lot of parents think its cool to buy their rugrats baby chicks or ducklings.( A warning to all,) When I walked over by the chicks I noticed that most of them were not moving. Needless to say they had died, as if thats not bad enough I was trying to move the few live ones away from the poor babies who died a needless death. While doing that 2 more died. The kicker is the staff told me they were just cold and thats why they died. hate to tell them chicks that are cold DO NOT bleed from their mouths and bottoms. The snot of a lady walks over with a plastic bag and starts throwing ALL the chicks in it. I say everyone needs to boycott that store as they only sell this babies during Easter. No city animal control wont do anything about it.
Thet staff and "lady" who did that probably need a bit of sensitivity retraining. She also needs a heart transplant, because it seems she's missing one.
Man's (and woman's) cruelty to animals apparently knows no boundaries. It's just unfortunate there are people working with the public who are that insensitive and thoughtless.
Perhaps the owner of the business is unaware he has hired a few of heartless morons to work for him? Maybe somebody should ask him about it before anybody launches any boycotts of his business.
If that owner thinks it's no big deal, THEN I'd say, "Boycott!"
Just another example of how profitting from Animal sales is inherently wrong.
We've seen this time & again at the Junky-lot here. Miserable looking animals, in pitiful conditions and horrendously crowded cages in the heat of summertime, being sold for hundreds of dollars for obviously sick and ill dogs. Humans have been exposed to PARVO-infected dogs, FIV-positive cats and even in-bred dogs passing for "purebreds".
A local "rescue group" also has endangered the public by selling PARVO-positive and aggressive dogs to the unsuspecting public. On more than one occassion I may add.
Better regulations on the sales of live animals NEEDS to be enacted.
Normally I don't think the "thumb" wars around here are a big deal, but I can't imagine why anyone would have thumbed down angel's post.
If it is ok with you angel, I'd like to repost that as a bulletin on the anderson sc myspace profile, since I've been advertising for those low lifes on there. I'll be paying them a visit in the morning.
I'm so bloody angry right now....................
