OK. Time to call Bulls--t! Somebody's talking about something they know nothing about. Yes, Joey is self-confident and comes across as arrogant. No, he does not respect Cindy because neither she nor Bob have shown him any respect. He respects their position (Council representative) but not them personally. They, on the other hand, have shown ZERO respect for Him or his position (Administrator). They have publicly and repeatedly accused him of embezzlement, misappropriation and exceeding his authority - without ANY evidence. Personal respect is quite separate from respect of the office. If Cindy and Bob want personal respect, they should try earning some. A good starting point would be to stop attacking Preston's integrity. They might not like Joey's style, but to accuse him of criminal wrong doing without any evidence is unethical, immoral and unchristian. To hear them pray before a council meeting and then launch into all out character assassination after the pledge of allegiance is the ultimate in hypocrisy. And it certainly doesn't earn them the personal respect they so covet.
As for the ban on Council members talking to division/department heads, that is pure POPPYCOCK. Make NO MISTAKE, I know what I'm talking about on this false claim. Division Directors and Department Heads routinely meet and talk with Council members. For Bob and Cindy to say otherwise is FALSE. As for Preston deferring specific technical questions to Division Directors or Department heads, that's just good management. Management 101 prescribes that successful managers delegate details. Who's better equipped to answer Cindy's question about how many cats were processed at the animal shelter last month? The County Administrator or the Animal Shelter Manager?
Give it a rest folks. This sorry hand of poker has gone on long enough. All the cards have been dealt. The pot's right. Time for everybody to lay down their cards. And as always, the cards will speak for themselves.
