Don Bowen is challenged by Tom Dobbins for SC House of Representatives – District 8.
Dr. Tom Dobbins proposes the following:
• Work to overhaul the entire state tax structure, with the goal of reducing the burden on the middle class.
• Upgrade our roads and bridges.
• Work toward providing affordable, accessible, and reliable health care.
• Create a public education system that inspires our students.
Mr. Don Bowen has refused to talk to me personally, since he discovered that I write on the Cocklebur Forum. However, based on comments he made in public meetings, I have come to the following understanding concerning his position on issues:
• Work to eliminate property taxes.
• Work toward education reform by fine tuning administrative costs, so we can put more money in the class room.
• Create standardized construction planning of schools, to ensure tax dollars are being spent efficiently.
• Create a fair business environment to encourage higher paying jobs to come to our community.
