One of his largest contributors it seems is Checks Into Cash located in Cleveland, TN. Contribution made on 1/16/08. I think most of us would agree that these places are the scum of the earth and are taking advantage of innocent people by charging 300+% interest. Wasn't there some kind of vote to legislate these companies? Just curious as to how current Sen. Bryant voted?

I just voted and Kevin Bryant is not campaigning for Bob Waldrep or Raymond MacKay. He is greeting voters asking for their vote in November. FOR HIMSELF!

What novel idea. Go to where the voters are.

You SSHM are so blinded by hate for Senator Bryant that you don't have a clue what you are talking about.

He shuck my hand and ask for my vote in the NOVEMBER election. I said I would, he said thank you. I went and voted, and drove to work.

Then I saw this crazy lie. You are a cheap political hack.

There will really be no more posts after my "in your face" victory post tonight or tomorrow.

Not as much as in your face, but in SSHM and JOhn Cheese's face. I suspect they will be gone, until they crank up the Marshall Meadors machine. He will go down in flames just like Bill "39% and lost my homebox" McAbee did. Although, Meadors may me Marshall "I got 40% and almost won my homebox" Meadors. But he will lose.

Try again, yankeefan. Sen. Bryant was reprimanded by the poll manager because he was indeed soliciting votes for Waldrep while wearing his name badge which if you would ever take the time to to a little research is against THE LAW! What he can do if he likes is exactly what he is doing at present, ask for votes for himself. He was advised that if he wanted to ask people to vote for Waldrep he would have to remove his name badge. It would seem he thinks to highly of himself to do that so Booby has been thrown to the wayside in favor of himself.

What I marvel at JD, is how, within the past 10-12 years, the Republican Party has seen fit to inject itself into races that traditionally were hands off.

First the tradition:

It is a generally held principal that politicians do not directly involve themselves in the races of others, especially during the primary, and if necessary, the run-off. This is especially so when a given political party has multiple individuals seeking one seat.

Note - I didn't say Republicans here or Democrats. This is something that until very recently was a "sacred cow" of both parties. While I can't speak for the Democrats, I can say, with strong certainty, that the "sacred cow" was made into low-grade burgers and cooked June 10th.

So why should a politician keep his or her nose out of other races?

Let's look at Lexington, SC as our first example:

Catherine Shealy vs Jake Knotts (Senate District 23) - both running as Republicans

I will give Brian (McCarty) credit for this: This is THE POWDERKEG that will serve to implode the Republican Party in SC. High profile endorsements not typically found in a STATE SENATE race have cropped up.

At last count, in Jake's corner was: US Rep. Joe Wilson, State Superintendent of Education Jim Rex, and The State Newspaper.

At last count, in Catherine's corner was: US Senator Jim DeMint, and Governor Mark Sanford.

Now JD, I will freely admit I haven't been scoring this race as closely as I should, but to say it's ugly is to not do it justice. You have these HUGE political heavyweights weighing in on a STATE SENATE SEAT ... ?

Now, if you go back over my limited scoring sheet, you will see where you have several highly respected individuals who now sit on opposite sides and who have LONG memories. This does not bode well for the Republican Party - the bloodletting has only begun sadly.

So, now you ask, how was it any different 10-12 years ago?

Let's go back and look at an interesting 3-way race in Richland County, cirra 1996.

Senate District 22 (all Republicans)
Warren Giese - Incumbent, held the seat since 1984
June Shissias - Member SC House, husband George BIG in the party
Katon Dawson - Virtual NOBODY at this time

So . . . the Republican Party steers clear of this race entirely. The race goes to a run off with Dawson throwing his support to Giese. Shissias loses to Giese, and the rest, as they say, is history.

So, again, I'd would have to ask . . . what has happened to the Republican Party? In case you're not sure, let me give you a link to this EXCELLENT article:

Red's Got The Blue
http://www.fitsnews.com/2008/06/24/reds-got-the-blue/

So . . . when I say watch out Kevin, it's not just because I think you are the worst excuse for a State Senator in the history of the General Assembly. This is a real issue. The party feasting on itself will break it, thus paving the way for Democrats to return to power in South Carolina.

You are lying. No two ways about it.

I just went back to the polls and asked. Senator Bryant told me that he was asking for himself only. I asked him if someone asked him to stop. He said no one has said a word to him. He also said that he was not campaigning for Bob. His exact words were "the early bird gets the worm, I have my own race, and I am asking folks for their vote".

So Try again, yourself! If you are going to LIE, make sure someone cannot check up on you.

Let me put this as simply as I can. SEN. BRYANT IS LYING to you! Go to Midway School, go inside and ask for the poll manager and ask them if while Sen. Bryant was there this morning if they had to have a discussion about what he can and cannot do then get back to me.

Just to be fair--Raymond MacKay is an attorney too.  Does that make him an arrogant ass?  Just asking since you seemed to link the two with Waldrep.  I think one can be an attorney and not be an arrogant ass.  IMHO, Raymond MacKay is such--an attorney but a very nice man who wants the best for Anderson County.  I agree that Bob is often arrogant even when he's trying to be funny.  He often makes an ass of himself.  So sorry to denigrate the noble donkey by comparing him to BW.

Dirty Birds, I say. Kevin was in the 3 hour meeting at Bob Waldrep's office last week when they hatched this negative campaign that has included slanderous handbills tossed in driveways, sign jockeying and Preston-bashing. Most certainly conduct unbecoming of a Senator. Kevin better get Howard Rich on the line because he's gonna need all the outta state special interest money he can get to save his own neck this fall.

Nope, and I do link the two to Waldrep.  I have had dealings with Waldrep.  He is not just arrogant, he way out in left field!  I have never met McKay; as far as I know he could be the same.  The previous post did not mention McKay, it mentioned Waldrep, that is why I responded as such.  As far as attorneys, I never trust any of them.

I wasn't attempting to open a line of attack on willieh, I was merely asking her to maybe post something besides the same sentence. Although I don't agree with most of what she says she seems to be a reasonably intelligent woman who I am sure is capable of contributing more than the same line, whether I agree with it or not. Willieh I apologize if my statement caused any negativity.

Let me be the first to correct you SSHM--It's Katrina (not Catherine) Shealy.
