Waldrep's Negativity Just Keeps on Coming

The never-ending saga of Waldrep's negative campaigning continues...."Preston and MacKay Mean More Taxes, More Secret Governments". These signs have been popping up at polling places this morning and go to show that he truly is a desparate man. The stupidity of these is so ridiculous I don't even know what to say.

By the way, our esteemed Sen. Kevin Bryant is out at the polls with his name badge on soliciting votes for Waldrep. Somebody needs to tell him that he is breaking the law. In his official capacity as an elected official he can be there with his badge on and greet people but he cannot ask for votes for Waldrep.

I don't have adog in this race so I have tried not to say anything, that and the fact that I don't know either one of those gentlemen. However I did listen to both when they were on the radio (WRIX) the other day and Mr. Waldrup came across as a bit of an arogant ass. Everytime he was asked a question he had to quantify the question, I mean coule this man give a direct answer to anything?

The answer to your question noeline, would be a resounding no. What he is good at it would seem is innuendo because he has no facts to base any of his claims on.

Youtwo need to just keep chatting with each other. Otherwise the sudden decompression from the fantasy world you live in might give you the bends. WWAB, do you completely miss the connection between you're complaint that Bob , in your opinion, never offers proof and his complaint that Joey illegally controls the flow of information concerning the county's operations? Duh!

It's bad this morning.

On the drive in, I saw Dan "I Really Look And Sound Like John Kerry" Harvell's mobile billboard was setup - negative attack ad on the back of a truck/thing I guess.

The negative campaign signs equating MacKay to Preston, SCREENED SIGNS mind you (well, from what you can see whizzing by), are indeed cropping up all over the place - more negative attack ads.

Then you have folks active in campaigning for a race for which they do not have a dog in the fight (*cough* Bryant *cough*).

Talk about a focused effort from folks OUTSIDE of DISTRICT ONE attempting to influence and shape the outcome of a race THAT IS NOT THEIRS.

Please, kindly go back to YOUR district and wait for the swearing-in ceremony.

Remember Kevin - You have a Senate race to worry about. You and Suzie Creamcheese should focus on that and not some county council race.

Here's a news flash Bill "39% and lost my home box" McAbee was out putting signs up for MacKay this morning.

Bill, before you litter up more of our county with signs, please go get your own.

MacKay must be desparate to have a loser like "old 39" helping him.

That wasn't an insult. That was an observaton. Smile

My bad and I wasn't really insulted. I actually kind of liked the characterization. My boyfriend will get a kick out of it and most likely agree with you.

It is voting day and I do feel strongly about this race.

Putting out a sign is one thing.

Meeting and greeting people (*cough* Bryant *cough*) while having your thugs, who live outside of DISTRICT ONE, make calls on behalf of Waldrep (*cough* Bryant *cough*) sets the Anderson County Political Bar so low, you have to wonder has the bottom fallen out yet.

Again Bryant . . . continue to dabble in politics you shouldn't deal with and I guarantee you will be burned by the electorate in November.

. . . and by burned, I mean you will lose at the polls, as I know your mind has issues understanding literary allusions.

A question of curiosity here, SSHM, and I ask it because my level of wisdom most obviously falls far short of yours, O great intellectually gifted one.

Kevin Bryant is a state senator who represents Anderson County and, therefore, his constituents are the people of Anderson County, which encompasses all County Council districts in Anderson County.

So, when did Waldrep's district cease to be a part of Anderson County? Clue me in here, SSHM. You've lost me with your anti-Bryant hysteria.

It seems to me that everybody in the county has a stake in the total makeup of County Council - and my guess is that you certainly agree with me, since you've taken time to campaign verbally in just about every race so far. I get that Kevin Bryant is more conservative than you'd like for him to be, but does that disqualify him from taking an interest in politics in the area he represents in the State Senate?

Bryant is a dirty bird. Dirty politics and dirty out of state money! And his day is coming. In fact, we'll start loading the washing machine tomorrow. If he loved the spin cycle on Waldrep's wash day, he's going to really love November 4th.

John, you might want to level that washing machine and tie it to something solid. From what I've seen of your spin cycle in the past two weeks, it's just about walked itself off the back porch and out into the yard. Wink

My Mom used to have a washing machine like that. It was a great ride, but what a bunch of wasted energy. And once Mom found out it wasn't really getting the job done, she replaced it.

Pile on, kids! John Cleese is going to take us for a spin! Laughing

JD,  If Kevin Bryant gets re elected, believe me, you will feel the effects in Pickens County too.  From what I know of your views, I am surprised that you are upset at SSHM even though he is a bit heavy handed.  Smile

Nah, Petunia. My Senator, Larry Martin hasn't destroyed us after 16 years in the State Senate and many years in the State House before that, so I seriously doubt that Kevin Bryant can cause a lot of damage on his own. There are 46 Senators there, you know. Usually, at least 50 percent plus 1 are thinking halfway straight on any given day to keep the Mike Fair/Kevin Bryant wing of the Republican Party at bay.

As for SSHM, I've said many times that people like SSHM who think they know everything thoroughly irritate people like me who do.

Sorry, Dan. I'll try in the future not to inject logic into a political debate. Hmmm. Would that be considered "negativity?" Laughing
