electric cars need charging, i think the best alternative is the hydrogen cell car
Atta girl, Petunia! Strike one for us oldies!
Pore lil Andrew just is ticking off Republicans and Dems alike today!
. . . just on the other side of the political spectrum, of course.

We need to give Andrew theme music. Remember that song by Manfred Mann's Earth Band called "Blinded by the Light?" Change it around to "Blinded by the HYPE" and it fits Andrew perfectly...
. . . if he sees the truth, well, we'll hold this song in reserve for him:
A little Aerosmith . . .
Yea Really, Viva La Carter! Right?..Hopefully people will come to their senses and not elect Carter part II....
Hold on everyone, this is really going to suck worse than anything thats ever sucked before it......
not another pee nut!!
And I thought by your posting style that you had to be in your 30s

Us old geezers have children and grandchildren.
It’s bad enough that we leave them the atrocious debt caused by spending trillions on this never ending war and its aftermath and not paying for it.
The first war that we didn’t raise taxes to pay for it, naw, instead we gave tax breaks to those that least needed them.
Then we sat still for eight years, denying that Polar bears were running out of ice and that there was any scientific basis for global warming. So we leave them a corrupted environment in additional to the national debt, which it should be noted is owed to foreigners because we weren’t willing to make the monetary sacrifice our selves.
Now the cry is to welcome drilling and windmills and reactors, and expensive research, but NIMBY, nor from my paycheck !
Hellova legacy. . .
A big thanks to the Baby Boomers. Thanks for f@&$%@& the rest of us over, pushing and continuing bad energy policies, stifling oil exploration with regulation while knowing energy demands would rise, and being the hypocritical selfish ex-hippie false environmentalist that you are. F&@& you, f&!$ you very much... In a couple years the younger generations should yank all the benefits from the boomers who already bled us dry with their BS energy and government policies and now are doing their best to bleed social Security and Medicare dry as well. The ME generation was an accurate description, so selfish and self absorbed they even royally screwed over their own children. You've done enough damage, now hurry up and die, I'm already paying for your years of self indulgence, selfishness, and bad policy and its only going to get worse for us because of you. Now hurry up and die off already so we can fix these problems without hearing you bitch about how you'll have to look at that windfarm or oil rig from your beach house. Tough s$@&, your generation caused it, now sit down, STFU and deal with us doing what it takes to fix it because you failed your children and grandchildren miserably.
This is the first time in history where one generations policies and action are going the leave the world a worse place for the next generation...
It's kind of like blaming the Native Indians for all our problems.
I will agree 100% with ZN that we are in a mess.
We as voters need to be in charge of our politicians, not the other way around.
We are (in name) the richest nation in the world, in reality the most in debt.
Oh and I said what I said without the profanity.

Isn't it nice that some know how to make their points with vocabulary that does not make one consider the entire point unworthy of notice??
Actually the government's 'borrowing' ( or SS's 'investing') of surplus funds was authorized by the 1935 bill that established Social Security.
The baby boomers are not 'bleeding' the SS fund, nor is the SS fund 'untouchable'.
The perception problem began when some smart/dumb politicians decided to hide deficit spending by combining the SS Fund assets with the Federal General Fund. This effectively hid massive amounts of National Debt owed the SS fund.
That smart/dumb politician would be Lyndon Johnson, PAPPY. He discovered he could partially pay for the Vietnam War with surplus SS and Medicare funds, and that was that.
You are correct about investing of SS funds. I always laughed when I heard politicians in both parties talk about putting those funds in a "lockbox" to protect them until they were needed. That's the Federal government equivalent of putting your money in a mayonnaise jar and burying it in the back yard. Lose a lot of interest that way, I think.
Maybe if all the self indulgent old farts in congress would step aside and look in a mirror and realize that they caused this mess and that they really don't have the answers or the wisdom to solve it, or anything else useful to offer for that matter. Too bad there isn't a single box to check for a nation wide "no confidence" vote for every elected official in D.C. this fall. To all of you old farts in government that don't know whats good for the people, HURRY UP AND DIE ALREADY, you heard me correctly, PLEASE FECK OFF AND DIE!! and take your stagnant, negative progress creating partisan BS politics with you!!! Do whats right for once, not what makes you feel good.
Then again, maybe congress should keep the public angry, then hopefully a few angry individuals will speed up life's progression and and put that lot of scum we call "leaders" 6 feet under.
Its really sad when people can get elected to Congress and they don't even understand basic math!!!!
The problem zn is that everyone thinks that the person that they are electing or re-electing to office is the one doing the most or will do the most for their community. So your solution while sounding great is totally subjective and limited to your point of view. Drilling for oil in our own backyard, and at this point I would like to state I mean within the lower 48. We also need to look at other options one being shale to oil, which the military is using. While electric cars are a nobel thought how much oil do we use to create electricity? So yes we should drill for dirty oil! We also need to somehow convince the oil companies to stop exporting the stuff we do drill for here. Oh and this is for Andrew, you complain about the dirty oil and all of their profits but have yet to mention all of the money made by Mr. Gore off of this whole anti oil thing something like 100 million dollars sort of makes the oil companies profits percentage wise look very puny.
