I love it when tidbits of information float to the surface. Like a well poured Guinness that has properly separated in its glass.

This one is almost too good not to pass along. Since the other side (willieh, crowe, and cronies) are so hung up on appearances, how about we present something that deals in appearances:

From the ACRP Executive Meeting this past Monday Night: Mike Buckner stood up and said we cannot support Raymond Mackay because he voted in the Democratic Primary and called for his censure.

From Tuesday Night at County Council: Bob Waldrep appropriated $500 for Mike Buckener's (it's not a Smith or Jones name folks) daughter to go to the National Speach and Debate competition for Hanna High School.

Before we continue, I would like to extend my congratulations to Miss Buckner for winning at the NFL District Tournament, thus earning herself a slot at the National Tournament. As a former NFL member myself, to make it to Nationals is an incredible accomplishment few ever get to participate in. Good luck!

So back to the politics of this . . .

Monday Night . . . Buckner calls for the censure of MacKay.
Tuesday Night . . . Bucker's family receives $500 from Waldrep at CC.

Even a two year old can connect these dots, folks.

Boot Rip van Waldrep (and kudos to my sources - thank you!! Cool)

Oh my freakin' Goodness! Good detective work SSHM. Funny thing, every time you smell an odor, there is always a source. Scandalous!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

One minor correction, as it is more a matter of semantics:

The funds were appropriated to the TL Hanna Debate Team, but mentioned specifically by name was Miss Buckner along with the intent of what the money should be used for.

Ok . . . back to the thread.

A little quid pro quo here I see. Bet Bob didn't want things this "transparent" now did he? Keep spraying that windex SSHM. Republican Executive committeeman Joh Holmes has a big as day sign for Bob in the drive thru at Chick-fila. Charles Crowe and the morning radio demolition crew will run the county if Bob gets re-elected. Buckner delivers the goodies for his daughter's debate team. Pretty soon we might be onto a little favoritism and self-interest motivation here.

I'm going to need more Windex apparently . . .

Buckner apparently attended his first Executive Committee Meeting for the first time in MORE THAN A YEAR this past Monday Night. Now, since we don't know all of the rules of the Executive Committee or attendance policies or requirements therin, we'll just run with the notion that ITS OK TO BE A NO-SHOW FOR 365 DAYS.

John-Cleese: Have you noticed that the traditional cronies that have been so loud about MacKay have promptly shut-up about this? Why don't they want to talk about THIS POLITICAL STUNT, err, NOT SO TRANSPARENT THANK-YOU, err, censure.

Some good friends of mine from NYC would like to sing a little song about this:

You know, it's really interesting that Mr. Mackay would be censured for not being republican enough, when Bob dubby actually RAN as a democrat!
I find it equally amusing that the executive commitee decided that Mr. Mackay wasn't republican enough.
Forgive me for thinking so, but isn't that the VOTERS job? Isn't that what PRIMARIES are for??

I was unaware that republicans in this county are actually FACISTS.
I may joke, but that is a serious overstepping of the power of the party IMHO.

BTW, SSHM, thanks for exposing the continuing good-ol-boy-ism of the ACRP. I don't know why people are shocked. I don't know why people aren't upset.

We haven't shut up, just letting you fools hang yourself a little more.

You know what I am gonna do, I gonna gather up the grand kids tonight, leave my humble abode in Pendleton, and go to Chick Fil A. I'm gonna get me a Chick Fil A sandwich and hope the profits go to support more conservative candidates.

Jon Holmes is a good man. Mike Buckner is a good man. They are both respected business men, and respected Republicans.

Bill McAbee on the other hand has lost all credibility with Republican leaders and Republican voters. Look at the totals 61-39.

It was a bad 30-45 days to be a McAbee in politics. What is it 0-3 in elections, and the devastating Juan Brown letter. I almost feel sorry for McAbee, but he brought it on himself for being a sell-out. Tragic story.

Waldrep wins Tuesday. And I'm eating Chick Fil A for supper.

You want MacKay? You can have him. You got his vote in January, you got his money since 2000. You should have gotten his candidacy.

I agree with Willieh. What more is there to say that hasn't been said? This blog has been hijacked by McAbee and crew. You would think they would be out looking for work.

I will say this. Waldrep will win on Tuesday. It is a fact that Bill McAbee lost, and he is trying to get back at Waldrep. Poor little Willie Horton.

I can vote for waldrep, I didn't the first time, but I certainly will this time.

BTW, Bill and Amy please go get your signs. There trashing up the joint. Most losers go get them quickly.

SSHM, I am honored to be confused with you. You are one of the more thoughtful cocklebur bloggers. How about that editorial this morning in the Independent-Mail? Outstanding! I understand the rotten Republican leadership who helped get Bob Waldrep into this negative mess is meeting with him as we speak to try and figure out how to get him out of the ditch. Expect some spin in the next few hours. But it's too late. Kevin Bryant had better start thinking more about Marshall Meadors and less about Joey Preston. At last check, Joey's not on the Senate ballot this fall. We local Republicans need to focus on the Democrats in the fall and quit trying to eat our own. Indeed, for most of us moderately conservative Republicans, we fear the radical right of our own party much more than the Democrats.

One thing that is not confusing is that you're both Democrats.

First, my apolgies to those that follow the rules and conduct themselves in a manner that is condusive and appropriate for individuals in both leadership positions and in positions of prominence within the Republican Party.

In case you think I'm talking about you, let me clarify: The Susan Aikens, the Rick Adkins, the Kevin Bryants, the now Mike Buckners, and the Charles Crowes - you - you and your ILK are not in that group. The collective you I just referenced is the reason a former Republican, er Democrat, er, Republican State Senator, who is in his FINAL political fight of his career is about to lose.

Because you chose to play in the mud . . . because you chose to SINK the party to a new low . . . because maybe, just maybe, not a single flippin one of you has the political accumen beyond that of a dead sea turtle, you have doomed the local Republican Party.

This year - 2008 - will be a landslide year for the Democrats. In Anderson County, it didn't have to come to this. If anything, the Republicans could have stood for unity, an open tent phlisophy, and have taken the high road, staying above the fray. Watch what happens in November . . .

Instead, you have Republicans eating their own because they are not "real Republicans" (methinks Mein Kampf and Aryan Purity have been added to the ACRP Party Planks). You have a State Senator that couldn't act or behave like a State Senator even if the party sent him to "State Senator Finishing School." Your delegate to the National Convention fails to even SHOW UP to the STATE CONVENTION, a convention for which he was OBLIGATED to be present for (yes, that would be Rip Van Waldrep).

Hell . . . can you fault ANYONE for voting for something OTHER than straight elephant (poop)?

- SSHM

PS: Mickey Mouse, as head of the ACRP, would have more credibility RIGHT NOW than Lee Rodgers and the entire Executive Committee COMBINED.

PPS: Yes john-cleese . . . the editorial was a-flippin-mazing this morning. I'm waiting for a counter endorsement from that rag over in Williamston . . .

john-cleese, You are correct about the editorial this morning. WOW! I still can't quite believe the AIM printed it. Kudos to Bonnie!
