It's a desparate attempt on our part to get
JD and Pappy to attend!
If you haven't checked out Sen. Kevin Bryant's blog in the last couple of days you might want to read his last entry, http://www.kevinbryant.com regarding beating a dead horse. Warning: don't view if you have a weak stomach and please don't let small children view the picture. I found the picture and the blog entry extremely upsetting. Mr. Bryant is trivializing what many Republicans and Democrats alike see as a serious issue; that of the audacity of the ACRC to censure Mr. MacKay's voting record. He remains clueless to the fact that his support of the censure could very well be his downfall and something that will cause angry and disappointed Republican voters in this area to vote for his opponent in November. His blog wreaks of mocking and taunting Mr. MacKay's supporters.
get a life, woman with a pea brain.
Wow,you had to work really hard to come up with that one. Maybe Mr. Mackay should hire you when he becomes desperate enough to have to resort to insults.
I knew Kevin was losing it when he decided to wade into the mud here; behavior unbecoming of a State Senator. Now posting pictures of dead animals on his blog - well now . . .
The smart man would have put up a black & white picture of Mr. Ed with the year born and died on the picture. But after all, we are talking about Kevin "Will Someone Send Me To State Senate Finishing School" Bryant, King of everything not subtile.
. . . dumb, dumb, dumb . . .
I hate to say it womanwithabrain, but would you expect anything less from Bryant at this point?

I guess not. After his behavior this past week supporting the censure of MacKay and then his quote printed in the AIM stating he would vote to override Gov. Sanford's veto of Bill 3912 he has pretty much nailed the head on his political coffin. Marshall Meadors should be feeling pretty good about now.
Womanwithabrain,
I just read H.3912 - It's official - Bryant is clueless. I wouldn't trust him to dispense candy to children, let alone drugs to adults.
Folks, for those that have not had a chance to review H.3912, allow me to paste a portion (the header) of this bill for your review. Needless to say, I'm extremely gratefuly Gov. Sanford saw fit to veto this horrible piece of legislation. Newsflash Bryant: Leave the law-making about doctors TO the doctors, not those that fill the Rx.
On with H.3912:
AN ACT TO AMEND SECTION 40-47-30, AS AMENDED, CODE OF LAWS OF SOUTH CAROLINA, 1976, RELATING TO THE REQUIREMENT TO BE LICENSED TO PRACTICE MEDICINE AND TO SPECIFY WHAT IS NOT TO BE CONSTRUED AS PRACTICING MEDICINE, SO AS TO CLARIFY THAT A PHYSICIAN MAY DELEGATE CERTAIN TASKS TO AN UNLICENSED PERSON IF THE PHYSICIAN IS IMMEDIATELY AVAILABLE AND TO PROVIDE THAT A PHYSICIAN IS NOT PROHIBITED FROM PRACTICING IN CONSULTATION WITH A SOUTH CAROLINA PHYSICIAN CONCERNING AN OPINION FOR THE SOUTH CAROLINA PHYSICIAN’S CONSIDERATION IN MANAGING THE CASE AND TREATMENT OF A PATIENT IN THIS STATE; TO AMEND SECTION 40-47-32, RELATING TO REQUIREMENTS FOR LICENSURE TO PRACTICE MEDICINE, SO AS TO PROVIDE THAT WHEN PROVIDING DOCUMENTATION OF RESIDENCY TRAINING FOR LICENSURE, A PHYSICIAN WHO GRADUATED FROM A SCHOOL OUTSIDE OF THE UNITED STATES OR CANADA IS ONLY REQUIRED TO HAVE BEEN ACTIVELY LICENSED FOR THE PRECEDING FIVE YEARS, RATHER THAN THE PRECEDING TEN YEARS, AND TO PROVIDE THAT SEVENTY-FIVE PERCENT OF CONTINUING MEDICAL EDUCATION MUST BE IN A BOARD CERTIFIED APPLICANT’S AREA OF SPECIALTY IN ORDER FOR THE APPLICANT TO OBTAIN LICENSURE WITHOUT HAVING TO PASS AN EXAMINATION; TO AMEND SECTION 40-47-20, AS AMENDED, RELATING TO THE DEFINITION OF TERMS IN THE LICENSURE AND REGULATION OF PHYSICIANS, INCLUDING THE DEFINITION OF THE PRACTICE OF MEDICINE, SO AS TO PROVIDE THAT RENDERING A DETERMINATION OF MEDICAL NECESSITY OR A DECISION AFFECTING THE DIAGNOSIS OR TREATMENT OF A PATIENT IS NOT, UNDER CERTAIN CIRCUMSTANCES, THE PRACTICE OF MEDICINE WHEN SUCH DETERMINATION OR DECISION IS A COVERAGE DECISION DENYING HEALTH CARE SERVICES OR COVERAGE FOR A COVERED BENEFIT OR APPROVING A COVERED BENEFIT; AND BY ADDING SECTION 38-59-25 SO AS TO FURTHER SPECIFY THOSE CIRCUMSTANCES UNDER WHICH RENDERING A DETERMINATION OR MAKING A DECISION DENYING OR APPROVING HEALTH CARE SERVICES OR BENEFITS IS NOT THE PRACTICE OF MEDICINE.
Please ... read, re-read, and digest what you read slowly. Understand that this bill is HORRIBLE and that your Senator-With-Training-Wheels is going to vote FOR this in an effort to override the Governor.
. . . dumb, dumb, dumb . . .

funny thing, he got elected with over 63% both times last election. I think he will do just fine. He is an excellent campaigner who doesn't change just so he can get elected.
Maybe Bill McAbee should have taken a lesson or two from Senator Bryant. To late now.
Maybe you should change your name to "ishm" Ignorance should hurt more!
Here is a post from Senator Bryant's website. It is posted by Dr. Freud. I think it sums it up pretty well. Enjoy!
Dr. Freud Says:

Kevin,
I’ve been watching the this site and the Cocklebur for some time and I’m struck by the emotion put forth from those who feel left out of the Republican Party. They’re quick to condemn that which they choose not to participate. They come to precious little Republican events, chide the events that they may attend and deride the actions of the many when it does not suit their agenda. They also jeer those in the minority when it calls for closer examination of their wants and wishes.
I doubt that “womanwithabrain” and others on the Cocklebur are really concerned about a dead horse or the direction of the local GOP. It may be as simple as a case of “penal envy”.
You see, although they may proclaim progress and vision as their motivation, their support for individuals such as MacKay, Preston and the recently defeated council members may acually be a phallic representation of lost hopes and desires for unattainable and lofty ideas impossible to achieve.
In such hysteria, they may illogically lash out at groups and individuals that seemed to have attain concrete goals and ideals. So, take heart Senator and local GOP, this psychosis is temporary on one target and will soon transfer to other targets such as the numbers of green M&M’s in a bag or the inability to touch one’s elbows together.
This to shall pass!!
Kevin, feel free to post this helpful thought onto The Cocklebur. The site had a nasty viris early on in it’s early stages and caused severe swelling and redness, so I won’t register again.
Sometimes a cigar is not a cigar.
I agree this is a very bad bill that looks like it was drafted by health insurance companies. You can put it in a bill, but if you make decisions about what tests are performed on a patient, it is practicing medicine. If they want to practice medicine, they should be subject to malpractice suits when a patient is harmed by their medical decision. We need people to represent us, not the big lobbies. Sanford was right to veto this bill!
What you underestimate is that there is a very LARGE contingent of individuals who are fed up and digusted with who they elected four years ago as their State Senator.
Again - Bryant needs to pay attention to his Democratic rival. Brushing him off like he has done thus far will be to his detrement.
Worst case: Bryant wins, but as a broken individual.
Most likely scenario: Meadors wins a close vote.
Take a look at our alternative to Bryant:

Four solid campaign planks that I believe anyone in their right mind would support.

So he's talking to himself via a dead therapist . . .
Wow ... and to think I was going to make a joke about a straight jacket and Bull Street. Hmmmm, I guess there is no need to make that joke now.
Again, we have an elected member of the SC General Assembly acting like anything other (spoiled brat ebbs to the surface faster than anything else at this point). Compared to the other members who currently walk the halls, both past and present, his behavior does not even warrant him taking a tour of the State House, let alone being permitted to SIT on the floor and represent us.
As he continues to blog to himself via a dead therapist, the rest of us, in this place called REALITY, will continue to work for Anderson and work for his removal.
It's times like this I wish certain late members of the General Assembly could still roam the halls. Edgar Brown would have put this ill-mannered freshman senator in his place some time ago - then maybe he might have been worth something as a represenative of Anderson.
Alas - it's too late.

I hear there are about 500 or so unlicensed Habib "Dr. Death" Patels on a boat headed this way from India as we speak....
SSHM, and to think you criticized me for going after Bryant in the past.... I've been trying to tell all of you that Bryant wouldn't know what to do with a clue if you beat him in the face with it..... Our state senator, doing his best to be as smart as a box of hammers......
Also I'll see what I can do about having the person kidnapped that walks behind Bryant and reminds him to breathe on a daily basis.
Wow. predicting that Meadors will win! That is a little bold even coming from you, Stupid.
Let's look at your track record, shall we?
Drawdy....Loser
Greer...Loser
McAbee...Loser
Thompson....Loser
Hooper....Loser
Crenshaw....Loser
What did you win? hmmm..... Oh yeah, ron Wilson. Juries still out of MacKay. I say he loses too. I don't have a dog in that fight. But I hope Waldrep wins.
Keep talking up Meadors. Maybe he will get 39% like Bill McAbee. (who by the way lost his own home box). Stupid "should" hurt more.
So it was an anti-incumbent year, across the state. You seek to re-hash this because . . . why? If anything, you would think you would learn from history and not underestimate ones opponent. Then again, coming from you, I wouldn't be shocked in the least to learn that you would just brush off Dr. Meadors and concede that Bryant is a lock.
Stupid won't hurt enough in November when the votes are counted - and Meadors is heading to the Senate. Don't cry for me, little RhINO . . . I told you so.

Spin, spin, Spin. It wasn't an anti-incumbent year. It was an anti-idiot year. Cindy Wilson won, Ron Wilson won. The other three were exposed for being idiots with the tax payer dollars.
Senate District 3, is one of the most conservative districts in the state. When the folks in Powdersville and Centerville hear how Dr. Meadors did not support the Marriage Amendment (passed by over 80% in Anderson County) it will be ugly. His liberal ideology lines up with Ted Kennedy, Hillary Clinton, Al Gore etc. It ain't gonna be pretty.
You think Raymond MacKay had it tough from the Republican Party, you just wait until October of 2008. Meadors will have the local and state party working against him. UGLY. UGLY. UGLY.
I'd say Kevin Bryant is pretty doggoned worried about Meadors. He's had his people frantically calling District #1 voters trying to save Bob Waldrep's seat on County Council. I suspect he's probably right smack in the middle of all this negative Waldrep campaigning. And this negative campaigning is so un-Senator-like, don't you agree?
JC,
I would speculate that it's worse than that. The entourage of folks calling from OUT OF DISTRICT to support WALDREP is unbelievable. Then again, let's take a look at this, shall we:
1.) Suzie Creamcheese's boss, Jim DeMint, as a US Senator, has weighed in on State Senate Seat 23 in Lexington County. He's backing Shealy, for those keeping score at home.
2.) Bryant and Creamcheese are good friends. It would not surprise me in the least if Kevin "Would Someone Please Send Me to State Senate Finishing School" Bryant, isn't out and about, calling on behalf of Waldrep.
Lines have been crossed this year within the Republican Party that have never been crossed before; most notably, the unwritten rule (sometimes it IS written) of not involving oneself, if an elected office holder, in other peoples races.
Pandora's Box has been opened. Things are bound at this point to get REALLY ugly.
