I'm sorry, but does it strike anyone else at all that to think that one vote is going to make John Edwards look good is the height of arrogance, a level of hubris achieved and maintained by only one operson in Anderson County, besides Raymond Mackay? Jeez, Joey, are even you that full of yourself?

If the folks want another JRP yes man, then vote for MacKay. If they want an independent thinker, then vote for Waldrep.

That's my take. This vote on Tuesday will set the course for the next two years. MacKay will be more of the same, Bob will bring civility, honor and experience to the table. You can't ask for more than that.

Civility and honor?!!! Are you freakin' crazy? Maybe you need to look up the definition of civility in the dictionary. The only thing Waldrep has brought to the table in the last 2 years is complete and utter chaos! Do you think the inept way in which he has attacked MacKay was civil and honorable?
At this point he looks like a man clinging desperately to a sinking boat and he's taking down the local Anderson County Republican Party Committee with him. His radio ad was offensive and degrading to women. His political flip-flopping over the years has made him look like he doesn't know if he is coming or going and to top it all off he had the gall to attack Mr. MacKay (a lifelong Republican not a party switcher)for once voting in the Democratic Preferential Presidential Primary! Although he had the voter rolls for previous primaries in which Mr. MacKay voted Republican he failed to present that information. I guess those facts just didn't suit his purpose, did they? He has by his own actions at this past Monday's Anderson County Republican Executive Committee meeting started a process which has no doubt caused a local party split that will cause current Republican incumbants to lose support and will cause the party itself to suffer repercussion's for months if not years down the road. He has made himself and people like you who attach themselves to him look foolish and stupid.

splitting the party? I don't think so. the vote was unanamous. You can not split a solid party vote. What an idiot.

"Independent Thinker"??? You and Waldrep had better watch it Yankeefan. The Republican Executive Committee has censured people for "independent thinking". Oh the hypocrisy!!!!!!

The infamous unamimous vote you speak of was made by the Anderson County Republican Executive Committee WHICH DID NOT INCLUDE THE WHOLE OF THE REGISTERED REPUBLICANS IN THIS AREA.

for everyone's information that wasn't even a vote of the entire Executive Committee--just the ones who were there.  So it's not unanimous at all.  I am sure also had it been a secret ballot it would have turned out different.  So many on the Republican Party Executive Committee are afraid to speak out for fear of retribution and retaliation.  The party in Anderson is already fractured.  Democrats will be elected because of it.  I hope the ACRP leaders are proud of the work they have done.

I don't know who was present for the vote on Monday, but the following are a few of the Republican Executive Committee members I know of: Charles Crowe, Jon Holmes, Ed Allgood, Susan Aiken, Jane Jones, John Branyon, Rodney Sanders, Dan Harvell, Bennie Sue West, Mike Buckner and Cather Driver. That's at least a partial list of who's "driving" the bus. Speaking of drivers, note how well represented the WAIM radio crowd is among the Republican Executive Committee. Electing Bob Waldrep on Tuesday will without a doubt put Rick Driver and his negative minions in charge of the County government for the next two years. That's why they are frantically working for Bob. Scary stuff!

Did anyone call for a secret ballot?

Retribution and retaliation?

Well then, I say it's time to form a new organization of civil-minded conservative and moderate Republicans. There is an inherent difference between the bulk of the ACRP "management" and the rest of the Republicans I know and speak with statewide.

Those of the hate radio crowd, take heed: We are coming for our party.

Those like-minded individuals, take heed also: We support you and will fight WITH YOU to reclaim the party.

This is a call to arms. Enough is enough.

You should be more concerned with keeping your place at the council table, economic development board etc. You cannot take over the party. You have no support. "management" is doing what they are supposed to do. Manage. MacKay et al were not republicans and they are being eliminated. One, two, sometimes three at a time.

In a democratic society the job of the Republican Party is not to eliminate. What happened to the "Big Tent" approach? Maybe you ar the one who is not a true Republican. Most certainly you are not one who upholds the Republican creed.
