SSHM,
I am not sure if you are saying that Ms Plummer DID NOT contribute $1000 to Mr Wilsons campaign or that it should not have been brought up. Which is it?
I went to the link to see contributions to candidates and Ms Plummer DID DONATE $1000 to Mr Wilson's coffers.
She also donated $1000 to Gracie Floyd's campaign.
All of this is public knowledge.
The truth is the truth.
Truth #1..Ms Plummer did donate $1000 to Mr Wilson's campaign.
Truth #2.. Ms Plummer did donate $1000 to Ms Floyds campaign.
Truth #3..Mr MacKay did vote in the Democratic primary.
What those three facts means are certainly up for debate.
It does not effect the way I think at all.
Common sense does prevail with at least one of the candidates! Good for you Mr. MacKay for declining the invite to debate Waldrep on the "nut Driver" show on Monday. You've already appeared in two debates with Mr. Waldrep and gave him a pretty sound spanking both times. I can only imagine that he wants to debate you on the "nut Driver" show because he knows as well as the rest of us that it is not someplace anyone other than Drivers favs can get a fair hearing. As for scheduling on Monday, the day before the runoff, which is in my mind a little late I'm sure MacKay will be doing something more constructive like walking neighborhoods. As I understand it both candidates will be on WRIX on Friday morning on the George Ducworth show.
Oh ... time for an update:
Why is it that MacKay turned down a chance to debate Waldrep on the Monday before we vote on Tuesday? Simple:
1.) WRIX scooped Waldrep and MacKay. Both fellows will be on the air this coming Friday to speak their minds during the 8 o'clock hour. If they talk on Friday, no need to get together AGAIN on Monday.
2.) Who does anything but campaign on the last day before an election? Even Rip van Waldrep knows better than this.
Spin spin spin folks . . . it's not that MacKay turned down a debate, he chose not to be redundant.

So lifelong . . .
Giving money to Billy O'Dell, Cordell Maddox, and Chuck Allen, who are all Republicans is what? Oh, it's all there at that link you provided. Nice gloss job there.

I'm not scared, all of you seem to forget that he works for us. I'm sick of paying out and paying out and getting screwed by the state and feds in return. F-him and everyone like him that sits around doing nothing and collects a check at taxpayer expense.
I would hope that Bob Waldrep will withdraw from the debate on the ultra liberal WRIX station. Since some of you feel it's OK for Mr. Mackay to refuse to be on the conservative radio WAIM then I'm sure you will understand why Mr. Waldrep should not be on the left coast station. Mr.Driver was going to have an honest debate by allowing each candidate to provide the questions which is the only fair way to hold a debate. Remember the Adams/Drawdy debate on WAIM? It was hailed as the best and fairest type of open debate. I'm sure that Mr. Duckworthless will have his liberals prepared with their questions for Mr. Waldrep as he always does. Mr. Ducworth was once a leader in our area but he now has sunk to the same rank and level that Al Franken represents. Mr. Duckworth/Mr. Mackay...leaders in the Democratic Party.
Now I've heard it all . . . WRIX is not just liberal, but ultra liberal? I'm sorry if you didn't like Mr. Duckworth's comments about Bob Waldrep's mailings, but really.
The only thing I think you could possibly find fault with is the fact that Mr. Duckworth is one of the most fair and balanced individuals that I know of when it comes to presenting information. It borders on a "C-SPAN, it is what it is" style, but it is fair.
Desperate you are prevail . . . desperate. WRIX as an ultra liberal station . . . give me a break.

I checked out Mr. Mackay's donations, all to Democrats. Some of you would melt before you would admit a mistake. Funny, funny, funny. Democrats are funny....and not informed.
Mr. Bryant, I truly hope this comment didn't come from you but all evidence says that it did. You've had my vote in the past but never again.
SSHM, I find myselfin agreement with you. George D and C-SPAN are very similar. Ten minutes of either, and I am sleeping like a baby!!ZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZ!
Wow, I wish you'd choose not to be redundant, but I guess that's too much to ask.
It's really cool how the mailer is so ill-fated that none of you can stop talking about it. BUMP BUMP BUMP!
Ummm . . . it's Basil and I engaging with the multiple personalities here. Why? Well, I always enjoy a good debate. In addition, the bulk of the electorate could care less about the mailer. Those that do care about it are very animated - animated to help RAYMOND.
Oh ... and I like watching my thread count go up too. OoooOOoooOOOoh.

I don't speak of matters of which I know not. And as for mentioning her children, I don't think anyone here knows them personally, just that she has them and frequently plays the kiddie card when things get hot for her, except when you do it for her, Shazzam. And if questioning her ability to donate funds to political candidates while seeking accommodation via the expenditure of public funds is besmirching, then she has besmirched herself.Political donations are public record and those records indicate that she did in fact make such donations. Yet just months ago, she was in dire straits, which I would not wish on anyone, and she sought and received substantial assistance from various agencies, chuirches and the community at large.Yet, as her circumstances improved. her first instinct was to donate money to political candidiates instead of reimburse those who helped her. OR perhaps, she did not donate, but simply distributed, the funds in question, like a bagman might do in a politically corrupt environemnt? But what do I know of such matters? I'm just a simple parent who scratches and scrapes and finds a way t pay my child's way.
But we're not talking about thirty years ago, are we? We're talking about three months ago. Surely the laws of primacy and recency apply to some extent?
From what I was able to hear, I feel that Bill McAbee got a pretty fair shake on the Driver show. Seems Amy Plummers daughter was able to get through and ask him about an animal control ordinance. So why would anyone else not get a fair shake?
Did the Waldrep mail say anything that was untrue? If someone votes one way and donates one way, and they're running for office, put the info out. Saw a lot from folks slamming Waldrep, Cindy Wilson, and Allen. If it was OK then, why isn't it OK now?
I do not understand how even a true Southern Democrat, let alone a Republican, could vote for Edwards. Voting just to let a SC boy make a good showing, IMO, is a wasted vote.
Neither JohnB - see my reply to plumbbob below . . .
Whew! Take a breath raygene. I have neither the time nor the inclination to asnwer this entire screed. I can address one point, however. Mr. Brown made his declaration to support Mr. Waldrep even before the votes were tallied on June 10th. Mr. Waldrep was nowhere in sight and had had no contact wtih BRown. Brown had come to trealize that JOey Ray had screwed him. Imagine that? So he was po'd and decided toback Waldrep. What's more interesting is his statement that he knows Mackay is bought and paid for. Thatalone is not unusual, since many people think thta. What is unusual is that he may have evidence of it. My, that would be interesting if it came out just before the election, wouldn't it?Anyway, Raygene, you can go back to foaming at the mouth now. TaTa!
