Holy blowing-up Blackberries, Batman!
I have another e-mail in, this time from a friend in local law enforcement.
Local law enforcement agencies are stepping up patrols this evening in a effort to discourage and if needed, apprehend individuals tampering with political signs. Based on what little I have to go on in this e-mail, please take it for what it is worth. Obey the law. Don't tamper with signs that you are not affiliated with.
Besides, I don't think the local jails permit blogging.

Breaking News . . .
Smooth move, SSHM.
Reminds me of the fellow who grew watermelons, and he got tired one summer of people stealing those melons whenever he wasn't looking.
So he put up a sign:
"ONE OF THESE WATERMELONS IS POISONED."
Things were fine for a day or two, but then one morning a second sign appeared next to his sign:
NOW TWO OF THESE WATERMELONS ARE POISONED."
And I got sick from eating watermellon, I thought it was because I ate too much. I was just too young to read the darn warning!
Hehe! Hey, is it illegal to just move all the signs to one place, like, say, line Mr. McAbee's road with his signs? After all, didn't you get an email from the McAbee camp thanking people for picking them up?
edit: added so people don't take this suggestion seriously. Senses of humors are in short supply around here!

I did indeed get an e-mail from a contact I have over in the McAbee Camp. It was one of those tongue-in-cheek e-mails.
A little 11th hour humor apparently lost among the mud and muck. No worries, I think everyone at this point (even 'old JD over yonder in Pickens) has a LITTLE mud on him.
Everyone shower up and be ready to shake hands and make peace after the polls close tomorrow. Win, lose, or draw, we march on . . .

This is stupid. maybe law enforcement should do a little DUI enforcement down town

. . . or maybe they will arrest Suzie Creamcheese!
Now wouldn't THAT be a headline!

SSHM, I did take your comments as tongue-in-cheek. That's why I responded with a joke.
As for that mud on all of us, yeah, you're right on that one. One thing you learn in life is that if you wallow in the mud with pigs, you're both going to get dirty - but the PIG enjoys it.
kinda like the fox watching the hen house isn't it.
Holy blowing-up Blackberries, Batman!I think the time is past for worrying about signs. It's time to start worrying about voter fraud now.

SSHM, for once we agree. Regardless of vote counts, if the vindictive tone of Anderson politics does't change and soon, nothing will be gained.Hehe! You and I have had our share of exchanges , including insults. But i will gladly grant you the presumption that 1) your heart is in the right place, and 2) that you have every right to express and pursue your views. If I see you at the Civic Center tomorrow night, I will gladly shake your hand and wish you and your candidates well. Deal?

Hmmm . . .
We DO agree on the next solicitor. Burying the hatchet shouldn't be TOO much of a stretch. Let me see if I can get enough Nyquil into me to at least beat back this miserable summer cold - enough to not make others sick.

I thought I saw a "vote here" sign in front of Old SilverLeaf on my way home last night....

friedgreenmater,
WHY in the world would you ALREADY be casting doubt on voter fraud????? Could you possibly just sit back, take the results as they come? If you really want the political climate to settle down, then you could start by not trying to stir the pot all the time!
Just accept the final count because "it is what it is"!

friedgreenmater,I'm not claiming voter fraud. I'm just killing time while my computer tries to calculate the odds of two 19 vote wins in one election.

I appreciate the offer, but we can do it another time, if you're under the weather, I can't afford to be helathy these days, much less be sick! Feel better.SSHM, for once we agree. Regardless of vote counts, if the vindictive tone of Anderson politics does't change and soon, nothing will be gained.

friedgreenmater, as I read, this is exactly what you said. With the half empty glass way you look at things, you are planting the seed. Try positive energy, it has been known to make people even smile!

AWESOME!
I think the time is past for worrying about signs. It's time to start worrying about voter fraud now."A simple acknowledgement of Anderson county's political and electoral histroy. BTW, a previous post I made in response to your remarks apparently got lost, or yanked. It referred to the difficulty my computer has in calculating the odds of two 19 vote wins in the same election cycle. That would be 2006, ntheno. Anyway,Thanks for your advice on how to alter my view of life. From what I've seen of yours, I'll just ride it out as is. Hope that's okay with you. Besides, why just smile when life is such a frigging hoot?
